This is the second time staying in Fuji Ginkei, while the first time was in 2017. The reason I chose it when I went to Kawaguchiko the second time was the perfect location, service, and food when I stayed in 2017. First, I should thank the hotel staff. As you might know, it is tough for solo travelers to book a Ryokan room. As a search around the hotel list, which I think is perfect for the stay, Fuji Ginkei is one of a few hotels which said OK. I appreciate it. The location is perfect as you can see the lake and mountain simultaneously. For Kawaguchiko, only a few hotels have this kind of view. When you arrive at the Kawaguchiko station, don't forget to call them, and they will pick you up. However, when you live, if you want to take their shuttle bus, you need to check their shuttle bus schedule. I choose the Japanese-style room which a balcony since I want to take many photos from my room. It is worth it as the view from the room is perfect. I can stay in the room and watch Mount Fuji all afternoon. It even has an individual bathroom in the room, which is kind of rare. If you stay in the hotel in Winter, don't forget to use the outdoor onsen. It will be freezing to get in and out, but it is worth it as you will see a very clear sky and many stars when using the outdoor onsen. You will never forget it. Moreover, don't forget to go lakeside, which is only a few meters away. You can take perfect photos of the lake, Mount Fuji and the stars. It is impressive. Service is as good as before, which you can imagine. When you are having breakfast and dinner, the staff will talk with you, introducing the dish and telling you much exciting and helpful information. For once, I was discussing さかさふじ with them and really learned a lot. The dish is good. As I stayed for two nights, I think the first night's dinner was better than the second. For breakfast, I don't have too many things to say. Overall, the dish tasted good but not as impressive as in 2017, maybe because I tried some Michelin during these years, which increased my standard. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, and the price is not that high compared to other hotels around Kawaguchiko. Once again, is it worthy.

I stayed in a room with a hot spring bath on the Mt. Fuji side of the East Building. Blessed with the weather, I took a long view of Mt. Fuji from the evening to the next morning and soaked in the hot springs many times. (Laughs) The quality of the Kawaguchiko Onsen at this hotel is a neutral calcium, sodium-sulphate, and chlorine-based disinfection is heated and circulated, including a large communal bath and a private room bath. It is not a source hanging, but it is well managed including the spring temperature. It warmed up well. It seems to be a room meal, but I stayed at 々 at the end of the year 12/29 night, probably because there were many guests, in the dining room on the 7th floor, dinner was a course kaiseki dish, breakfast was a buffet. The beef stew that I expected was also served on the course because the amount was small, but it felt like a taste. Each was carefully cooked in a small amount, and the quality and quantity were satisfactory. I stayed until 11:00 in the morning, and I took a bath 5 times in another 々 large communal bath once, 3 times in the room bath. In addition, the large communal bath has a waterfall and an open-air rock bath in the foreground, and a large cypress bath in the back. I think the impression will change depending on the way Mt. Fuji looks, but I was lucky 々. Since it is the year-end and New Year holidays, the high accommodation fee is natural, but it was a satisfying content for the room, meal, bath, service, and environment that matched it.

Fabulous “destination” hotel…. The food was incredible (either French or Japanese degustation style menu). You could not get a better viewpoint for Mt Fuji. Advice: traditional public onsen so no tattoos but they have private baths too so happy days; a car would be helpful as the taxi service is fairly sparse; if you don’t have a car then book Taka from Native Fuji Tours (he was 10/10)… and pay the extra for a higher floor… we had one with a bath on the balcony… stunning!

Focus on hot springs and saunas
Overall, it's 10 points clean because the hotel has only been open for a year.
The location is also very convenient, there are supermarkets and convenience stores just at the intersection.
Even if you don't book a BBQ dinner, you can still cook on the induction cooker. Stoves, basic seasonings and cooking oil are provided.
Unfortunately, there were too few wash basins and it was difficult to clean the stove. The stove and dishes were also greasy and had to be washed again.
Drinks are available in the lobby before nine o'clock
Overall not bad.

The facilities are clean and the customer service is wonderful. The rooms are clean, and there is Wifi and USB port facilities for charging (Western room). The buffet-style meals are rich in variety such as local dishes and delicious. Very satisfied hotel depending on the choice of room. Strategy: Mt. Fuji, which you want from the large communal bath, is blocked by pillars, cherry trees, and it is a pity that you need to stand up from the open-air bath, and you can only see the indoor bath from a limited place while taking a bathtub. Therefore, you need to choose a room on the Mt. Fuji side to enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji from the hotel facilities. Hope: It would be even nice if there were Yoshida's udon noodles, seasonal local vegetables, fruits, and local products (milk, cheese, etc.). If you have already used it, the presentation will increase satisfaction as a traveler. I have tea and tea in the room, but I want coffee.

We are on a guided tour and were fortunate to stay at Regina. It was good in every way - great rooms, excellent checkin, hot shower and comfortable bed. WE had a traditional Japanese dinner and it was probably the most complete (and very tasty) meals we have had so far. Also the breakfast was handled smoothly and the food was hot and tasty. Be aware that this hotel is a short way out of town, but has great views of Mt Fuji.

This lovely hotel (its a bit dated, but everything is clean and very nice) is right on the lake, and very quiet. Its 10 minutes driving distance from the Kawaguchi-Ko bus stand/train station and there is a free hotel shuttle every hour. I would definitely go for rooms with a view - either of the lake, or of Fujisan. We went for rooms with lake view, and very much enjoyed it. The rooms are big and very comfortable, with a desk, an armchair and a sofa. There is also a small balcony, with amazing views of the lake. Its so peaceful, especially in the early morning or during sunset. The hotel is located in a large garden. There is an indoor and lovely outdoor onsen, where you can bath in the warm water whilst seeing bamboo and hearing birds. Breakfast is a good buffet. The restaurant for dinner is rather expensive, so i would recommend eating in one of the few restaurants in the small town.

Stayed one night with my family. No matter what the feature is, the food is delicious as a glamping. It's BBQ style, so of course we grill it ourselves, but I think the ingredients are good. Same goes for breakfast. Homemade cola is also excellent. I didn't eat it this time, but there were plenty of other homemade fruit wines and they looked delicious. The cottage-like accommodation was also neat. If I had to point out the drawbacks, it would be that we slept in a sleeping bag on a bed-like place, so we couldn't say that we were able to sleep comfortably. I couldn't help but feel sleep deprived. Correspondence of staff was very kind and seemed to be able to do hot spring facility in November (it was said that hot spring appeared as a result of boring.).

It was my first time to stay here, and I was a little worried because I hadn't seen other reviews before. But I really didn’t expect it. The experience here was completely beyond my expectation! Each small villa is spacious and comfortable, with complete facilities. Even the bathrooms are so luxurious, which surprised me. And although the nearby hot spring is not big, it is kept clean and tidy, and the bar next to it is a plus! Every dish at dinner was unique, especially the meltingly tender steak, which made me hooked. Also, the hotel is really close to Mount Fuji. The fresh air in the morning and the authentic breakfast made me feel even more happy. In short, I was pleasantly surprised by my stay this time. The price/performance ratio is really high. I will recommend this hotel to everyone without hesitation!

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is fantastic for sunset viewing. There is plenty of parking across the road, with a surfeit of basically unnecessary staff. We had a reasonable-sized room with large windows and a wonderful panorama of the lake and Mount Fuji. That's all that's positive. The hotel is in two parts: the original building and an annexe. It is NOT suitable for wheelchair users trying to get to a restaurant. There are too many steps, twists and turns. There are lifts to find rooms in part A or part B, and the locations of the onsens (which switch between male and female every day - nice views, though). The signage is rare and confusing. As a stocky European (100Kg), I had immense difficulty sleeping on a very thin futon. The electric heater in the room blasts an unhealthy stream of hot air. Switch off this health risk and you FREEZE (we were there in late October). The hotel is relatively expensive, so you'd expect quality rooms. What you get is the uniform Japanese army-style sp****, goose**** green-walled room that you'd find in business hotels at half the room rate of this laughingly named 'NEW CENTURY' place. Minimalist, to say the least (in reality, pinched, lacking in generosity and well-being). At least there was a fridge (with a freezer icebox!!) In a series of measures as a response to the risks of COVID, there were no real glasses - just paper cups, and a message asking you to close the toilet lid before flushing. Disappointingly, the toilet was untypically low quality - no little hand-washing basin and fountain on the top of the toilet, and thus no towel in the toilet itself. (So, mucky hands grasping two sets of door handles to wash your hands. How's that for customary Japanese hygiene?) We (a group of 13 people - I was the only gaijin...) had booked an evening meal, room and breakfast the next morning. Dinner? Again, for the price, you'd expect a nice piece of fish (probably from the lake) right? NO way. We got a few bits of sukiyaki, and mean little dishes with bits and pieces of this and that... I've eaten MUCH better food in izakayas and bars throughout Japan. My opinion was echoed by most of our party. Breakfast was below ordinary. Simple, plain, dull. Something to dispense with quickly. Taking fuel on board, that's all. The service in the restaurant was desultory (= awful, ungracious). During dinner, a stocky old lady granted me the opportunity to be bumped TWICE by her capacious bottom as she served the person next to me. I complained and pushed back, to the accompaniment of giggles from her lithe, unobtrusive colleagues. Mercifully I was spared any further encounter with this voluminous rear end at breakfast. The staff at breakfast time were a) limited in number b) slow and c) VERY detached. One had the feeling they were cleaning staff put into waiting uniforms. Per person, we paid over 13,000 yen. Frankly, an outrageous price. The ONLY benefit was the view. For that, you don't need a hotel room. A bus tour will
Booked this ryokan purely based on pictures online. The entire experience definitely did not disappoint. Managed to try two different rooms, 1 with private onsen and another lead in room. The upgrade for the rooms with private onsen are definitely worth it as they are newer and much larger rooms. There is free coffee and tea in the lobby. Breakfast changes daily and is of high quality. Dinner was also amazing and a wonderful experience. Location wise, it is up a very steep hill and not suitable to walk up with luggages. The hotel does provide pick up service from the train station at certain timings.
GGuest UserWe took the morning flight from Hong Kong to Haneda Airport. After finishing the luggage and entry procedures, we came to the high-speed bus next to the pick-up lobby to buy tickets. It was simple and convenient. It just picked up the first bus and went directly to Kawaguchiko. Before the bus departed, there was still time to have breakfast and wash. Go to the bus stop from the ticket purchase center and follow the next channel. You can also take the elevator or elevator to the underground bus stop according to the instructions. The bus will arrive. When you take the bus, you will see the data board clearly. If there is any error, you will not have to take the bus directly to Kawaguchiko Station. Come to Kawaguchiko, go to the end on the left hand side, see the tourist information, is the waiting station, all hotel buses are here to pick up guests, bus schedules are found on the hotel website; this station does not need to be reserved very convenient. The small bus arrived on time, the driver's service was very good, and he walked through the narrow street for several minutes to reach the hotel. In fact, the hotel is in a good location, near the intersection, and the surrounding bus stop is nearby without turning to Kawaguchiko. Walk along the main road, one end to the center of Shanghai, there are restaurants and supermarkets, the other end to the lake and the pool on the park, you can also see Mount Fuji at different angles, cross the road directly in front of the intersection and go straight to the section of the green line tour bus, walk slowly and reach Baqishan Park, Summer has a scent of lavender, autumn has red leaves, as well as art galleries, garden coffee seats, etc. The parkland is full of green grass like a hilly land, children and hairy children can run up and down, couples and elders sit on long fins to watch the sunset, lake view birds, freehand! Three-day stay, free breakfast and hot springs... Cheap, clean and spacious public space, I will visit next time, live here, continue to visit the unvisited attractions! 👍👍👍👍👍
LLiechienMy recent stay at Villa Yumefuji Kawaguchiko was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the stunning surroundings of Kawaguchiko with breathtaking views.
The villa itself is a perfect blend of traditional Japanese architecture and modern amenities. The rooms are spacious, elegantly designed, and offer panoramic views..
The staff at Villa Yumefuji Kawaguchiko were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and memorable. Their attention to detail and personalized service truly set this villa apart.
One of the highlights of my stay was the private onsen (hot spring) available at the villa. Soaking in the warm waters was a truly rejuvenating experience.
Overall, Villa Yumefuji Kawaguchiko exceeded all my expectations and provided me with a truly unforgettable stay. I highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a luxurious and authentic Japanese experience in Kawaguchiko.”
GGuest UserCame by during the coldest winter in Japan for years and was at first worried about the snow storm as our cars are not fitted with snow tires, so I decided to call up the hotel. On hand to assist is a very nice and kind lady by the name of Zora who tried to go all out to assist and though we asked if we can cancel the stay with no cancellation fees, she mentioned it was tough due to regulations from the booking website. Nevertheless she took efforts to keep me posted of the conditions in Kawaguchiko prior to our arrival and we finally made our trip there. The hotel is clean and new as it opened almost 2.5 years ago hence was dealt with the Covid pandemic and it was not easy for them to survive. The hotel has several Mandarin speaking staff and check in is only after 3 pm hence when we arrived the counter was empty and waited for a while for a Mandarin speaking Japanese to come over to assist, very helpful with suggestions but again they didn’t allow us to amend our stay due to the upcoming snow storm. In the end we decided to forfeit our 2nd night stay due to the fact we do not have snow tire and this is where I felt the hotel can be a bit more flexible by offering a discount. The rooms we were given is huge and spacious , as mentioned by Zora with a good view of Mount Fuji, however the view changes just the next day hence we are lucky to have a wonderful view of Mount Fuji from the room . Overall the stay was very good as staff are very helpful, multi lingual staff with one of the guy from Taiwan being able to speak Mandarin , English , Cantonese , Korean and of course Japanese. Breakfast is simple but very adequate .
GGuest UserAs a traveller with large tattoos, I wanted to leave a review here confirming that this onsen allows for guests with tattoos. This is the onsen review only. I went in the early afternoon on a Saturday and, while initially I shared the onsen with 4 other Japanese ladies, eventually I had the whole onsen for myself. Very hot water, 1 indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools, although one was not in use and empty. 1000 yen for 2 hours (bring your own towels), English website, easy to access from Kawaguchiko station.
KKevinThis place is super far from the Kawaguchiko station and they only offer pick up service for a certain period of time. I think the cut off time is 5pm. After that, they will not be able to provide you shuttle bus service if you wish to go back to kawaguchiko area which is to access to other main attraction. So walking distance is about 30 mins to kawaguchiko station. And Uber is out of service at that area. To us it is not very convenient as we wanted to go out for dinner, there was no shuttle bus service so me and my partner will have to walk about an hour to and fro. The street is extremely dark at night so it was abit scary.
You need to pay extra for the public path.
The service there is not that great. But the room view is great.
Make sure you rent a bike if you want to stay at this hotel. Or if you are driving then it will be fine. Other than that, have to walk most of the time. Can see Mount Fuji view at certain type of room but the second day was cloudy for us so mt fuji view
GGuest UserStayed for two nights and finally I got a much better sleep for the first time on my 2 week trip! Breakfast was ok, not fantastic-the place seems very deserted with many shops shuttered quite early on and streets dark. The bath was decent but nothing to shout about. Overall a value for money place just don’t expect too much
Rrichardswart78We loved our stay here. The staff at frontdesk is so nice and so helpful: whatever you need during your stay, they will arrange (car rental, Japanese seats for room, good restaurant-advice). The room is supplied with very nice thick duvets, Japanese-style tatami and futons, and you will find a fridge and kettle too. The shower is really nice, with good pressure and nice ‘n warm. Room is warm and comfortable. Located opposite the station, this place is surely recommended!
GGuest UserHotel of resort type on Kawaguchiko, west high. Right next to the ropeway platform. Parking space is at least 20, so I recommend early check-in. It seems that 90% of the employees are foreigners. Perhaps the corona was pushed by a group of red flag countries. Of course, the front desk staff is only foreigners, and if you don't listen to it hard, you will a little frustration that the conversation is not approved. The room is all rooms, facing the lake and Mt. Fuji is not visible. Meals are free to eat and drink. (although alcohol other than beer is not recommended) there are many local things, and I think Cospa is good at this price. It was delicious. Overall, it is a passing point, but the dissatisfaction is the sauna of 60 ℃ and the parking lot of the high pressure attitude (Japanese) Ochan. I had a relaxing and delicious time.
