Hotels near Arashiyama Arhat, Kyoto

Very very accessible as this is very much near or 5 minute walk to Gion District & Nishiki Market with its rotating sushi restaurant. Buses ply regularly infront of our hotel. The famous Tatami-Floored Starbucks & the Ninenzaka Old Streets are within walking distance of 30 minutes. Department stores (Uniqlo, BAL) lined up on both sides of Shijo Kawaramachi stretch where Travelodge is located. Grocery, convenience, fast food, drugstore are just around the corner. Our small room is just as comfortable as the bath works high tech & neat. It has its own pasta resto filled up almost all the time. 5-minute walk to train stations & 3-minute walk to nearest bus stop. Location is very convenient. Worth the money.

The room is large and you can spend comfortably. It is the best inn for just drinking and sleeping. The facilities are also common, and there is no particular complaint.

Hotel is situated in a good location. Just opposite of Kyoto station. I recommend to go there via the station’s main exit, rather than the underground exit. The exit via underground is A5, but can be difficult to locate for the first time. Amenities are basic, nothing fancy or extra. It’s a self check in/out hotel, although they do have staff on call if needed. The doors are all electronic using a passcode, so might be a bit of a challenge for elderly people to operate if not used to. Overall, a very nice hotel. Highly recommend if you need to get around in Kyoto using the public transport.

If you are a traveller like us who would like some more privacy, this place is not exactly for you. Don't get me wrong, the hotel staff are absolutely wonderful. Just that most things are communal and you have wait for your turn to shower and finish by 11.35. The walls are quite thin indeed, you can easily hear people walking on the hallway or simply chatting in their rooms.

It's quiet and easy to spend because it's one station from Kyoto Station. The location is also near the station, and it's easy to understand that you can reach it in just a few minutes from the station. Parks, aquariums and railway museums are also nearby, so you can play with your children. There is a large communal bath, but personally, the hot water is lukewarm and unsatisfactory. I stayed in a standard twin room, but I was able to spend a relaxing time in a room that was perfectly large even if I spread a large suitcase. There are also 6 coin laundry units, which is appreciated for long-term stays. It seems that a group of school excursion students was staying there, and I was worried that I could hear a slapstick noise at a fairly late time. There is also a convenience store, so it's very convenient, but it was very disturbing because a group of school excursion students was shopping and it was very crowded, and I didn't know how to use the self-checkout and was making a fuss. It was. Isn't it shifting such shopping time or the school side manages it? Apart from that, I was able to spend comfortably without any problems.

During our 8-day and 7-night free trip to Kansai, our final destination was Kyoto. Before the trip, we referred to online reviews and chose to stay at the high-value Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Shijo. This hotel, which was newly completed in March 2022, wasn't very popular at the time and didn't have many recommendations from travel experts. Although it's a bit far from the subway station, there is a bus stop near the hotel, which is relatively convenient. The hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and there is a large supermarket called LIFE in the ba*****t, which is very convenient! Even if the weather is bad, there's no need to worry about getting wet while buying food. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that during the stay in Kyoto, an accommodation tax of 200 yen per person per night is required. What surprised us was that the two small double beds in the room were actually Simmons beds, extremely comfortable with just the right firmness, and the hotel's pajamas were soft and comfortable too! Location is good and convenient, can walk to Kyoto station in 8 mins. Room is good for one person stay, amenities are provided at first floor, even facial mask is available. The staff is very nice to let me check in earlier as it was raining and cold on that day, will definitely consider it if I come again.

We chose this hotel due to itsʻ location and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel staff was helpful and provided information in Japanese and English. We stayed for 13 days and were impressed with the hotelʻs determination to provide us with clean rooms, towels and other items. This hotelʻs location at Shijo/Karasuma made it easy to get to train stations, bus and the subway. There were also many excellent restaurants and shopping possibilities. One of the features we appreciated a lot was the laundry. We also appreciated that it was quiet.. didnʻt even hear people in the halls or doors close. Having lived in Kyoto for a long time, this was our first time to stay in a hotel and would recommend it for sure.

It is not recommended for guests with more luggage or large boxes: First, because the homestay is located in the scenic area of two years and three years, tourists are like weaving during the day, and taxis can't get in at all. You need to drag your suitcase and walk a long uphill and downhill stone road and steps to find a place to live; Second, it is because it is difficult to call the car after checking out. You need to drag your suitcase through the woven stone street to the main road far away to take a taxi... Of course, for guests who have no luggage or less luggage, you may wish to experience the feeling of an old room for one night.

Check-in at Kyoto Station... Also looking for, a little distance. We didn't know until we arrived at the hotel door, but the store service was very good and the remedy was very timely. The stairs are a bit steep and will not be a very good experience.
