The hotel is at a good location, just a few minutes' walk from the business district of Amalfi. Both the environment and scenery are beautiful. The sea view room with a balcony is facing the town's marina. After all, it is a hotel on the cliff, so the room is a bit small. Other aspects are all good.

GGuest UserA super enjoyable stay at Casa Mao in Amalfi. This is a quaint and charming boutique hotel with arguably one of the best hotel views in Amalfi from the rooftop deck that also serves as the breakfast area: no better way to start the day! The property has been recently completely rennovated, having been in the family for generations. The owner, Giancarlo, could not have been more helpful with recommendations for beach clubs, walks, restaurants, transport and so on. He really went out of his way to ensure we had a very enjoyable stay. Yes, there are a few steps to navigate to reach the hotel but that is one of the best characteristics of the entire Amalfi coast. Plus the view and peace and quiet makes the climb worthwhile. We would be delighted to return to Casa Mao.

My wife and I stayed at B&B Al Pesce D’Oro for four nights. It was a fantastic experience. There is a bus stop right outside so it is well connected to Amalfi, Praiano and Positano. We had dinners, tours and excursions to Ravello, Capri, Amalfi and Positano and got around easily from here. The staff were friendly and accommodating, helping us with bus tickets, recommendations for excursions and Alessio even very kindly drove us back to Amalfi at the end of our stay when we missed the bus (our fault!). The cleaning staff did a great job, and the breakfast that is delivered to your room each morning was wonderful, filled with all the Italian classics; cornetto, cappuccino, home made lemon cake, and can be complimented with an omelette, salami, bocconcini, tomato and toast if you like. The view from the terrace is incredible and the rooms are light filled and spacey. On our first day we had lunch in the restaurant which was tasty. Well done to the team!

Very pleasantly surprised! A great size bedroom with a balcony overlooking the sea! What more can you ask for? Very very good value. The man at the desk was very kind. Cleanliness was good on face value but it needs a deep clean - quite dusty in high places and the mini bar was disgusting! Throw that fridge away! We didn’t have breakfast included so didn’t eat there so can’t comment on that. It is quite run down - if they can they should invest into it - repaint it in places and replace some of the equipment and they could charge a lot more. Advice to guests - take earplugs as it’s loud outside at night and it’s hard to find as there are no signs! But it’s the big white building above amalfi terminal with 2 amalfi flags on it. To access you need to go the main square and then the steps up by the bank on the left (opposite the church) I’d recommend it!

We arrived on Sunday 22/10/23 with limited expectations, the hotel had a Wedding in progress and this made check in at most casual, initial impressions were ok décor looked traditional and clean, The room 204, that's where it all went down hill, room was small and bland. a small TV hung on the wall, a fridge was in the cupboard below which didn't seem to work and was supposed to be stocked, it wasn't, it was empty, walls were scuffed and could have done with a lick of paint. The bathroom was small and had an over bath shower with usual facilities, the bath needed the sealant replaced around the whole bath, the shower blind was a bit dated and grim the underside of it was not clean. I'm afraid it wasn't inviting, quite the opposite, needed updating. The door to the balcony was new and worked well, when you get outside you see this hotels appeal being 600m Above Sea Level the views are breath-taking. Bed was hard as stone like sleeping on a mortuary slab, not that I've ever done that and i actually slept quite well. my wife however wasn't as pleased, we enquired about a topper at reception, the language barrier did get in the way but we thought we'd got through, alas we didn't get the topper. we had one meal in the hotel which was ok. Breakfast was served on level -1 a large soulless room, normal continental fair ham, cheese, bread, hard boiled eggs some limp lettuce, no cereal to speak of, yogurt tea and American Coffee. Not exactly well presented but ok. my wife is a coeliac(gluten free) and the staff provided gluten free products, on the Wednesday morning and i can only assume that as there were only 5 people in the hotel breakfast was served in the ground floor restaurant, which was better, and had great views, breakfast was served at the table. There was a bar but it was not well stocked or manned. 2x G&T's £8 parking was ok a bit tight but ok. The hotel is in the hamlet of Agerola which has limited restaurants and bars we had drinks at Madame in the square and at the bar across the road when the aforementioned was shut, we had a meal in the next village along, which was also small and only had one or two restaurants that we could find. Not exactly buzzing but very pretty and it was October, also bear in mind the temperature is 3-4 degs lower than the coast, Also it takes about an hour to get to the coast, round some tight bendy mountain roads, if your a nervous driver might not be the place for you. We left a day early and moved to Pompeii as he weather was not good, and we wanted to get nearer to Naples, paid the bill which included a local tax! I'm sure was included on the original booking but i may be wrong, worth watching out for. This hotel is very pretty and traditional the staff are friendly and helpful, it has the potential, to be a good hotel, public rooms are modern and clean but they need a bit of fine tuning, Room/s need modernizing. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

CCarmenMeThis hotel is really impeccable. Opposite the cathedral, the facilities are clean. The hotel has installed sound-proof glass. It is relatively quiet. There is a restaurant downstairs, which is very convenient! Because the hotel forfeited my deposit I used a can of Coke in the minibar, and I consciously paid for it the night before. The front desk also said that some guests really left without paying. The only thing missing is that the washbasin leaks slowly, and everything else is very good👍 It would be great if there was an elevator. It is more difficult to carry luggage because of the stairs. I personally like this hotel quite a lot

SSandandsunshineHotel La Nina Check-in was friendly and professional. Be careful of the stairs as stairs off the street down (about 22 steps) to check-in with a looped rope for a railing, so be careful while carrying luggage as dangerous. Rooms 1,2,3,4 off breakfast area. Room 5 (junior suite with balcony) and 6 have a spiral type staircase down from the checking/ breakfast area again without railings, which is not good for carrying luggage. This hotel is 2 km outside of Amalfi, but Sita busses 5120, 5070, etc. stop in front of hotel 50 M to the right at the Frazone Lone bus stop right beside the cross walk. Download the schedule. Hotel side of road to take you into Amalfi for food, etc. and drop you off back on opposite side coming back from Amalfi and €1.50 if buy ticket at stores (on main road in Amalfi to right before going up to Piazza Duomo there is a book shop down past blue door) Breakfast is good. The fresh croissants are amazing. You complete a card with a check list of breakfast items the day before with a chosen time. Items include plenty of coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, baked goods, meats, cheese and juice. The lady who does breakfast is friendly, kind, hard and working. There is one male who would smoke out the window and drop cigarette ash on the outside porch you were on, and also not helpful. This hotel is fairly clean, but black mold in ceiling areas needs attention. There is not a lot of space in the room but adequate. Get ready to crawl out of bed in the junior suite and stairs to the bathroom.Bed and pillows are comfortable. Plastic drinking cups in the room, wine cork remover but no wine glasses, but got some from the bar. There isn't a kettle in the room but they will provide tea for €4 I understand kettles were removed as somebody cooked noodles in the kettle. Not sure why other people have to be punished by the stupidity of a few. There is a safe with key in the room. The man who smokes out the breakfast room windows dropping ash on the balcony is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. The view is amazing and that's what you are paying for. ……location, location, location. Everywhere in the hotel appears to be near or below the lobby / check-in / breakfast room as it is a very small hotel of maybe 6 rooms, was noisy when it got busy.
