Outstanding
We stayed in Oriana Suits for 1 night. One very strange thing about the hotel that the suite was ready only by 2^30. And you have to leave the hotel next day at 11:30. That't true that Oriana Suits have very good location, but we found out that in an extreme situation the staff is not helpful AT ALL. My wife broke a glass in the living room. We asked for a help at 6 p.m., at 7^00 p.m. we reminded of the problem - the glass was all over the floor. We went to watch a show. When we returned back at midnight the small pieces of glass still remained on the floor. Nobody cleaned it - as you understand, we couldn't use the room. We left the hotel, and nobody did anything about it. So the smiles of the staff are another proof that fair words butter no parsnip. We don't recommend this hotel to anybody because if something happens to you in a strange city there is no help on the side of the hotel staff.
I visited Casa Babbuino mid July, my first three impressions where immediately positive: 1. I arrived during the night … it was very easy to get a self check in with super fast and nice communication 2. Like 5 min / 350m away from the hotel is a public parking space for 5,- a day … there was always a lot of spaces available. Next to this in the streets it might be even possible to park for free .. I am not 100% sure of that 3. When I arrived at the hotel (the entrance is not so easy to find, because there is no big name in it .. but is this beautiful green door ..) the lobby was already to tasteful arranged .. the next I noticed was the absolutely gorgeous garden … then I entered my room and it was really big, the furniture was classy and new .. large bathroom… From the hotel to the start of the “old town” it’s like 10-15 min walk .. just one street easy to find. A supermarket is like 200 m away and some restaurants are around the corner. Over all the area is very quiet. With the easy parking options it’s a good starting point to visit locations around Verona .. like lake Garda is a 30 min drive. Thanks for the nice visited and especially the gin tonic at the end. Greetings from Germany, Mario
We visited this hotel for the 4th or 5th time, we always were satisfied. But something had changed, we do not know why. Our welcome was fine, a bottle of prosecco waiting for us, just missing the cookies we had last year. We ordered the breakfast which is served on your room, and it was delivered next morning just in time. The scrambled eggs were nearly cold. In the afternoon coming back from town we missed new cleaned glasses, the used ones were not replaced, same with empty shower gel, we had to ask for nearly everything. The rest was okay, but nobody asked for our satisfaction at any time, even the departure. In the room we also had the impression that there’s the necessity for some renovation, even at some walls and the fridge with its door not closing properly. Being honest, we spent around 500 € (!) per day for b&b here! So this time we left Verona and the hotel not knowing whether we would come back in future.
LLady WI was skeptical reading previous reviews but decided to give it a try for one night during my business trip as I’m an IHG member. Having experienced staying at 5 different hotels in this city — most of them within walking distance on Corso Porta Nuova (main street leading from the train station to many main attractions) — I can say that Indigo was among one of my top 2 choices.
The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated — the headboard of the bed immediately attracted attention, striking but elegant, with paintings seemingly telling romantic tales of the city’s history; open wardrobe was clever as it made the room seem spacious while leaving plenty of space for hanging clothes and jackets especially on a rainy day.
The balcony was a super nice touch and was my favorite to come back to in the evening with a view of charming Verona at night watching people and cars passing by. Two chairs, a coffee table with blankets and a little bit of floral decorations. I spent a fair bit of time despite the cold and rain, soaking in the beautiful images which were among the most special memories I’d carry with me from this trip.
Check-in was super efficient. Anna at the reception was an absolute joy to meet and interact with. She’s super kind, thoughtful and professional in helping me with storing my suitcase as I was in a rush to catch my train to a nearby city on a rainy day; she gave clear, accurate info helping me to go to the train station within 10mins; and on the next day, kindly offered recommendations for cafes. Her passion and enthusiasm and friendliness is above and beyond many of her peers. Her genuine smile stands out from others who might be just trying to get their job done. You can tell Anna is truly exceptional and a wonderful ambassador for Hotel Indigo. Keep up the good work!
Breakfast service was super efficient, friendly, attentive. The professional and thoughtful gentleman offered multiple times coffee, tea, orange juice, etc, making sure each guest had everything needed for a good start of the day, quickly clearing dishes while guests stepped away - perfectly seamless. Truly outstanding attention to details. The restaurant offered a good variety of food choices: raw veggies are rare in hotel breakfast buffet but here they did so that was a plus in my book. Fresh fruits, muesli, (no sugar-added) yogurt and scrambled eggs were my go-to. Although I didn’t eat pastries or bread or drink Prosecco for breakfast, if that’s something you like then you’d be pleased to know they offered plenty to satisfy different tastes.
The only thing that prevented Indigo from making my No. 1 choice in Verona was the shower. I requested specifically for a shower because from the photos shared by other travelers and reviews many commented that the bath look dated and needed update. I personally do not take baths in hotels so having a new, good water pressure shower with fast efficient drain would be way more important. They did honor my request with a standup shower corner stall. However, the square-shaped shower stall area was so small that my elbows (I’m petite size female) kept knocking on the glass doors. I believe they’re scheduled for major renovation in Jan-Feb 2024 so it’d be interesting to see if they remodel the bathrooms and showers.
Stayed in the hotel during opera festival weekend. Booked Standard Double room through hotel site. Great value for money and good cancellation policy. Clean. Very good breakfast buffet for the price. Absence of a bar is fully compensated by a bistro next door. Though it is situated on a leafy main street , trafic noise is not obtrusive. We came with our own tea bags (small home comforts) water and cups were happily provided by the staff in a restaurant, to be taken to the room.
SStuart LI found this hotel online last year for our trip to Verona. Wow - what a fabulous hotel. Perfectly situated for walking into Verona and only 10 minute walk to the railway station. The Italian railway system was fabulous with luxurious trains, punctual and relatively cheap compared to the UK. Trips to Lake Garda, Florence and Venice. We stayed in the Garden Room which was lovely. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Special mention for Noman at reception and the two ladies who looked after us exceptionally well at breakfast. My wife and I would definitely return to this hotel if we visited Verona again. Thank you Hotel Scalzi for making our first trip to Italy so memorable. The gift of the small bottle of Prosecco in our fridge for our 30th wedding anniversary was a lovely touch.
Very good hotel and staff.. Also very close location to all.. Is suitable for his money paid for >> breakfast was very rich and clean , room clean10 , facilities 10/10 , mini bar low price , and she get us for chick in early 2 hr , bus stop near the location 10mtr
PPierangelo GabrieleWe stayed in this structure and, I must say, it is a hotel a few steps from Piazza Bra where the Arena is located, therefore, an excellent location. The structure is clean both in the common areas and in the room, the latter being large with a nice spacious bathroom. The good welcome, professional and helpful reception staff. Breakfast room service ... unfortunately I have to give a point not to give unclassifiable. Total lack of organization, there is no room manager to control the work of the employees, I say this because two episodes have happened to me that absolutely must not happen in a top-level hotel. First of all I approach the buffet and, wanting to get some fresh fruit, I notice that the containers of fresh pineapple and watermelon are empty, this absolutely must not happen as even before the container is completely empty it must be replaced with something already ready in the kitchen , after asking if it was possible to have said fruit I was told that they were preparing it, I assume they went to pick the fruit as everything arrived after a good 15 minutes but, that's not all, I ask a room attendant if it was possible have a coffee spoon as they were missing in both containers, my affection told me that he would have done so immediately but he continued to carry out his duties until after five minutes I went in front of the kitchen entrance asking for a teaspoon, remained perplexed by my request, they verified the lack of cutlery and began the search for crockery, after a minute, apologizing, they said they had forgotten them in the dishwasher (the excuse is worse than the accusation). Surely none of this would have happened if there had been the presence of a manager trained for this type of service. Unfortunately for errors of this type the entire structure loses value. I apologize for the length of the review but it seemed only right to explain what happened so that the management could improve the service.
After being recommended to stay at this “hotel” for a course we were doing, it was a nightmare from day one. We were in a 4 bed apartment and hot water wouldn’t work for more than 15 minutes so that meant some of us were having cold showers everyday. Especially when they’d fix it at night but it was freezing again by the morning and we didn’t have time to get them to sort it as this took around an hour of our time. Despite telling them EVERYDAY that our hot water wasn’t working and the boiling was broke, it took them 6 days into our 10 night stay to do something. Everytime we would plead them to fix it or move us apartments, they lied and told us that the hotel was fully booked and would just tell us to turn the boiler on and off. The hob in our apartment barely worked, everything was dirty and smelt like a nursing home, no washing machine, mouldy dirty showers and limescale on the shower head so thick that it wouldn’t even work properly. The microwave sparked at the plug and needed to be changed, the bedsheets smelt dirty and the shutters kept jamming. On day 6 they moved us to a smaller apartment, despite paying for more and didn’t apologise or offer any compensation. When we arrived, the showers still weren’t in the best condition and the kitchen was barely supplied with any utensils to cook and then the balcony door jammed shut. When we called reception, he said they couldn’t do anything for a couple of hours despite us having washing our there and wanting to use the balcony to enjoy the sun. He then barged in 10 minutes later, not saying anything and pulling at the doors then proceeded to climb through the window to get to the balcony. We’ve constantly had to change our plans to wait whilst the staff at the hotel messed with the broken things and not know how to fix it. There was no proper engineering staff and we didn’t see any cleaners working whilst we were here. The one time our apartment was cleaned, they didn’t leave any toilet roll and left one of the rooms completely uncleaned. The staff haven’t apologised once for any of these issues, if anything they make you feel like an annoyance when they should just get their hotel sorted. It’s dirty, it’s old and it’s been a nightmare. It also looks NOTHING like the photos. It’s overpriced and promising an experience that doesn’t exist. Save your money, the hostel would probably be nicer.
GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel because we attended Nick Cave's concert at the Arena of Verona and so we found him comfortable for the location, which is one of his few positive aspects. I start by saying that when we arrived and played the clock, the owner came very dry from our presence. We saw the room, quite comfortable, but the bath was a disaster: the water was sometimes making strange noises, the shower door was broken, and the wall seemed made of carton. Finally, we were waiting for breakfast (including in the booking) in the morning but we found that it would never arrive. I have to say that for 50 euros per head it is better. I don't recommend.
