Hotels near Bruges Christmas Market, Bruges

Hotel in great location, 10 minutes away from Xmas markets and canals. Man on reception was very helpful and he seemed to be doing cleaning and breakfast. Only issue was with a cot which was requested on booking and after ringing and emailing (and then being told email on website is no use) we still didn''t have a cot on arrival. Man on reception brought one but it was absolutely filthy with brown stains all over. There was no way my daughter in law was going to let our 11 month old grandson sleep in it, so they had to let him sleep in the bed with them. Suggest they purchase a new one or stop advertising a cot is available.😒

One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail in the decor is just fantastic. Each room is different, and the fit outs and bedding are the highest quality. Appreciated the little seating areas in the room as well, a nice touch. A lovely and very easy stroll from the centre of Bruges. The hotel was clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. It was an ideal location for a city visit. Breakfast was something inconceivable and the same daily. The eggs of the wheel were unfortunately complete. Fresh fruit was little available, even cereal breads were not there. Sometimes cereal bread. A big shortage was the rumble right in front of the house and our room. Although the hotel cannot do so, we were not told when booking. Although we spent 7 nights there, no other room was offered back, although many people spent only one or two nights there. This daily noise source until 23:00 or partly until 24:30 was already extreme. I expected more support from the staff here.

Having stayed several times at the Dukes Palace, Bruges, and this being a sister hotel, I expected a similar standard. It's not. Reception staff cold, unfriendly and frankly, unhelpful. Booked a parking space, but one had not been reserved for me (there's only four parking spaces at the hotel - and one of those was being used by the hotel manager). Was told I would have to leave my car in a public car park. I did not want to do this for security reasons. Having visited Bruges around 20 times, I am fully aware that parking is extremely limited, hence the reason I booked the car park. They had no record of me booking the car park (booked through Hotels.com) and did not have any spaces available (if I had been the hotel manager, I would have offered to move my car for my guest - the fact that this didn't happen tells you everything). I took it upon myself to pop over to its sister hotel, the Dukes Palace, and explained my situation. The staff there were very helpful and said I could park my car in their car park. Why couldn't the receptionist at the Dukes Arches arrange that? Absolute zero customer service. Bar area, whilst very nicely appointed, completely lacked atmosphere, despite being quite busy. Breakfast service was good. Staff within the breakfast room were very helpful and friendly. Courtyard room lacked a courtyard view (please see photo). Bed was very comfy. I was concerned about the low water temperature in the bathroom (I'm familiar with legionella) and reported this to the reception staff. Met with a shrug of the shoulders! Be aware that with the ground floor courtyard rooms, there is a corridor off the car park to access these. The external door does not closely very well and with cars coming and going, the corridor fills with car exhaust fumes. Overall, very disappointed. I will be coming back to Bruges (fabulous place), but will never stay at this hotel again.

We saw this hotel referenced in a book by Rick Steves and booked it for a three night stay. The hotel is family owned and in a quiet portion of Bruges, away from the tourist crowds on the main square. We opted for a first floor room with a view of one of the canals that run through the city. The room was well appointed with a wonderful walk-in shower. Breakfast in the morning included hot items such as scrambled eggs as well as the normal European spread of cold meats and cheeses. The croissants and pastries were delicious. The hotel staff was very helpful and recommended several different local restaurants, all within an easy walk.

The hotel is very well located, in the centre, a step away from everything. We had the Fort Lapin room with terrace. The cleaning, and maintenance leaves much to desire. The gardens of the room are to change them. They have a manchor of about 20cm all the length they are about 3 metres more or less. The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. In addition to having the fairly small stairs (my wife has 39 and he went out half foot), in the bathroom, there is a bathroom and shower, the two pads were crying through the board. One of them was ”repared” with fixed... For us, this is already personal, the kitchen lacks a microwave. Needable if you travel with a baby. A pity, because with a little more care would be an ideal site. A greeting

The hotel is located near the river bank, there is a free shuttle bus stop in Bruges in front of the door, located near the city government and the famous Bruges clock tower, the surrounding environment is very quiet! Hotel picks self-service check-in, Breakfast included! The room is small, the thick mattress is very comfortable, but the small bathroom space is a disadvantage!

The Black Swan is located in an old building in a great location in the old part of Bruges. The main sites and restaurants are close by and easy to get to. The hotel was refurbished with modern conveniences while keeping to its original decor. The staff was very helpful in arranging taxis to get to the train station and recommended a very good restaurant (Restaurant Diligence-see my review). Although the price was very good for the location, the wifi was weak and breakfast was ordinary (but good) with only instant coffee which kept it from being excellent. We'd stay there again given the excellent value.

Comfortable bed, and quiet enough to have comfortable night rests. Breakfast had a good selection of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, pastries, orange juice, tea and coffee. Can’t fault this hotel, friendly staff too. Bus stop (route 2) to and from Bruges train station just a few second walk away from hotel. Bus fare €2.50 There is a nice restaurant just around the corner too

Just back from a weekend in Bruges and I can't recommend the Hotel Bryghia highly enough. It's in a great location - just far enough out of the centre to be blissfully quiet and but less than 10 mins walk from the Market Square and Belfry. Right next to a beautiful canal and bridge. It was the perfect balance of an old building but with modern facilities. The bed was so comfortable, we had the best night's sleep. We were welcomed by the very warm, friendly owner, and by some Belgian chocolates in our room! The map and local knowledge he shared were priceless. We are already planning to visit again in the Summer and will definitely book the Bryghia.
