This hotel surpassed our expectations! We stayed there to extend our time with friends after a Chicago wedding. Great gathering areas, perfect location with a fun and cozy private space to watch the game in the mansion! Loved the fire pits, the cocktails and the location. Bonus was the extra space in the Garden suite was great for hanging out .

This is the second time we visited Maxwell mansion and decided for this time for a 40th year wedding anniversary. It would be a pleasure to come back again. The staff was very nice and accommodating as a great place to go.

We visited the Maxwell mansion for the first time in 2003. Every detail of our visit made us glad we decided to stay. Over the next year we returned several times to visit the Apothecary bar and chat with the staff. In 2024 we upgraded our room choice to the beautiful mansion. The room and every member of the staff made us glad we returned. The location is a short walk from the busy downtown area of Lake Geneva making it a definite hidden gem. Next time you find yourself in Lake Geneva check it out.

Gorgeous place. Very pricy. And staff is very particular, follow their rules closely as to not have anything confiscated.

The rooms in the carriage house were designed to get the most out of the space, extremely clean, and in fantastic space. The mansion was beautiful and the service for the wedding I was at was well done! Highly recommend!

This was our 2nd stay at the Maxwell Mansion and it did not disappoint. Our room was in the Sables and loved it! The rustic decor was fun and very charming.We enjoyed the live entertainment, the delicious small bites and fabulous drinks. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and guest services super attentive. Maxwell Mansion is located close (with in walking distance) to the lake, shopping, restaurants and bars. If you're into the nostalgia of the 1800's and the prohibition era or if you want to relax and unwind, this is the venu for you.

The Maxwell Mansion has a nice atmosphere, enjoyable outdoor areas, and is ideally located for walking downtown and getting on the lakeside trail. We enjoyed our stay very much.
