Generally would like to rate 98/100 to this hotel!
👍🏻Location: Just right beside the subway station! Very convenient to travelers who are not familiar with Kyoto, especially after a tiring trip I just want to get to hotel as soon as possible without any hassles if possible. And the plus point is even this hotel is facing street but it’s quiet and no noise, besides that, along the street go straight down, got a lot of food and shops on shijo high street!
👍🏻Service: Service staff are friendly and professional! They are always keen to listen to your requests and answer your inquiries and follow your instructions accordingly! Surprisingly, they even went extra mile to make their customers more comfortable, I can feel they are taking their pride in their jobs which touches me.
👍🏻Cleanliness and Amenities also on point! The hotel is very new btw.
The only 2 advices I would like to mention:
1. For my room type, there is difficulty to fit in big luggage, let alone for 2 persons so in that case please book bigger room.
2. Breakfast choice is quite limited, so if you had high expectation of hotel’ breakfast you might won’t be surprised.
I still strongly recommend this hotel to people and will definitely visit it again as I really had a pleasant stay there.

The hotel room is big compared to other hotel. It has free drinks from 6.00pm-10.00pm. We are intended to try the Japanese breakfast, however, the front desk did not inform us that it has limited set every day. When we reached the restaurant at 8.30am, we were told that the Japanese breakfast would only serve 30 sets every day, and it has been sold out.
Disappointment!
The Tanimachikun Sei Villa is a great choice for guests looking for accommodation in Kyoto, having been recently opened in 2021. The hotel is conveniently located just 800m from Kiyomizu Gojo Station and 49km from Osaka International Airport. Transportation around the city is also convenient, with Sanjō Keihan Metro Station within walking distance. With Gion Corner, Hanamikoji Street and Kyoto Tower all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.

The location is difficult to find, and there is no attached parking space, but there are many paid parking lots nearby, and there are also supermarkets nearby.
The house is very clean and you can ask them to pick up any items you need.

My husband and I enjoyed the location. Right up the street is a 7/11 where we would grab our dinner, literally a 1 min walk. This hotel is only 3 minutes walk to the Karasuma Oike Station, just around the corner. There are a lot of eatery’s up and down the block.
We stayed in two different room. One was double bed room with a washing/drying machine it wasn’t too roomy but we manage. The other room was a 2 twin bed with a washing/drying machine, this room was more roomy and we slept comfortably.
The staff here are super friendly and have great costumer service. We had a leak from our air conditioning and right away we got a room changed within 5 minutes. The hotel room is clean and the neighborhood is safe (although I feel safe everywhere in Japan lol). The hotel provides complimentary coffee, tea, ice, and water at the lobby but breakfast will cost you around $11 USD. We usually just walk to the 7/11 and grab an egg sandwich or croissant with filling (must try) for breakfast.
Overall, my stay was great and when we come back we will be staying at this hotel again.

This is my third time staying in Ala Hotel for my vacation. The first two times I came was with very good experience, everything was perfect. However, this time when I come, everything is different.
The breakfast quality was not as good as the first time I came. The taste was not good, the food is not hot enough…
For the Public Onsen, it was closed at 23:00, it was a little bit rush…and there is no one to clean the Onsen Area, rubbish was everywhere in the changing room and the cups were all used up and no one to refill the cups. So if you are thirsty after the Onsen, there is nothing to drink.
We stayed in the room close to elevator, there is a smoking room next to it. So every night our room is very smelly …

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during our first visit to Kyoto. This hotel is very clean with nice accessories and modern Japanese accommodations located in quiet neighborhood away from constant tourist crowds but at the same time in walking distance from the emperor palace and right across from Nijo Castle. It is only 10-15 minutes away on taxi from Gion district and other main tourist attractions that Kyoto can offer. I also would like mention Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto staff that made us feel very welcomed and specifically to Timothy Hui (front office manager) who went beyond his duties and make special accommodations for us during our visit in Kyoto.

Hotel was super nice! I loved almost everything.
The room was very big for Japanese standards and the staff was very professional and fluent in English.
Location couldn’t be better, right next to Kyoto Station and a lot of options for shopping and dining.
The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. They divide it in a western and japanese breakfast. But the western breakfast didn’t really have much western choices. And the coffee was not good. This could be improved.
Otherwise it was a perfect stay and I would recommend it. :-)

The location of Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo is unbeatable, right next to Kyoto Station, making travel around the city so convenient. The nearby Aeon Mall is fantastic for quick and affordable meals, with plenty of options to choose from. A thoughtful touch is the free water cooler provided on every floor, which made it super easy to refill our water bottles when heading out or returning for the day. The complimentary Japanese breakfast was a lovely addition, offering a delicious and authentic start to the day. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the service is good. Overall, it's a great choice for families looking for convenience and comfort in Kyoto!

6699nigelaStayed here for 6 nights. Staff fantastic, room modern with all usual Japanese up to date bathroom facilities. Just a 6 min walk from Kyoto central station so access to all other areas in Kyoto either by train, subway or bus very easy. Free extras were the afternoon tea, happy hour drinks and evening supper - rice with sauce and nibbles. A couple of the major Buddhist temples 5 ,10 and 20 mins walk also the Japanese railway museum. Loads of food choices at and around the station. Very clean and affordable.
GGuest UserStayed at Kyoritsu Resort for the first time other than La Vista. Put your shoes in the clog box at the entrance like a Japanese-style ryokan. It goes straight up on the tatami mat. I really like the relaxing style, but I'm worried about customers who don't even wipe the carry case. I think it's the same as walking on a tatami mat with bare feet. It would be great if you could use disposable paper towels to wipe at the entrance. The free private bath is a type that you use after washing in the large public bath, just like La Vista. There are hot springs and others. It's enough because you can use the 30-minute time limit. Each person had a luxury of one place. Ice cream after taking a bath, morning drink, and night crying soba are common. As for the third one, I can't participate yet because late hours are heavy on my stomach. Dinner is a Japanese course. Choose from 6 types of obanzai at the end. All types can be refilled and returned. You can choose either rice or noodles for your meal. It's not a luxurious ingredient, but I'm satisfied with the volume and taste. Breakfast is a buffet. How much is common, but everyone seems to be less interested than Tokyo Bay. I had a lot. The room is a compact twin. Shoji screens and bamboo Towa style I want a space to put my bag. Amenity is also a style to bring what you need in common. No waste. Buffet of tea.The variety was delicious. I was also interested in Arashiyama, but I thought that mutual use would be convenient if there was mutual cooperation such as luggage delivery. I saw several staff members in training, but everyone, including the front manager, was kind and comfortable. If you go to Kyoto again, please stop by.
GGuest UserAccommodation that only sleeps for users who want to save accommodation costs. Facilities / rooms are new, clean and clean. The room is large enough to have a single bed (thick mattress). There is no TV, toilet, wash basin, shower booth and toilet are shared. Bed making, garbage disposal, self-service, amenities are only toothbrushes. It is a short walk from Gojo Subway Station, so it is easy to access and suitable for sightseeing. Considering the service side, I think the cospa is bad.
CCkyankcTitle: An Extraordinary Stay at an Exquisite Kyoto Gem
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly remarkable hotel in Kyoto, and I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant establishment until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations.
Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage.
The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city.
The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for sightseeing and dining were invaluable, enabling me to make the most of my time in Kyoto.
The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and elegance. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, it exuded a sense of serenity that allowed me to unwind after a day of exploration. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the carefully curated amenities.
GGuest UserLocation is far from the town center as well as the tourist sight seeing spots. Found hair stuck in the bath tub and on the bathroom floor. There is literally no air conditioning in the room and its extremely frustrating especially the temperature reached almost 36c in the day time. That really let us down. Otherwise, the facilities are good and friendly staff.
GGuest UserSuper convenient! 3 minutes walk from Kyoto main train station. Donki just 1 block away and a 7-11 on the ground floor.
Good room size.
Free luggage storage before and after check in
Total 8 washing/drying machines on 2 floors (still not enough!!)
GGuest UserI used double - m for one person, but when I entered the room one step, I thought, ”Is it not so large?” In fact, when I was arranging my luggage in the room and moving color 々, I realized that if I was alone, I would take a room that was quite easy to use. I didn't eat at night for one night, but all other places such as lounge and receptionist have a luxury feeling and luxury feeling, but I feel at home somewhere I felt it was a lodging facility to say ”I travel to live”.
BBin SaifuddinThis is my second time staying at this hotel and the services remains top notch. Loved that it is near Kyoto Station and accessible to trains and modes of transport. It’s also near shopping malls and ease of shopping makes it convenient for travellers. Food and dining options are plenty and good for everyone
GGuest UserWe had an excellent stay at this Machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) for 3 days. We only did in-room dining one night, but that was also excellent. The check-in process is a little strange, as you will receive communication from the company that's a little dense and will not interact directly with the staff unless you choose to. We had to scan and send our passport photos and fill out a registration card, but that was it. The property is small by European/American standards in the sense that you will need to be careful to avoid damaging (including possibly your own head) things during your stay due to height and luggage weight. There's slippers provided to switch from your walking shoes to walking inside the property and there is an excellent bathtub and washroom with washer. My two cautions - this firm has English speaking employees available during business hours (and an emergency line) but it is geared primarily towards the Japan renter. Be prepared to know Japanese or be willing to take the time to translate certain things via your cell phone/app of your choice to understand how to work the various appliances. As an older building, learning the heating/cooling. The second caution, as an older building sound is an issue. You will hear the street and need to control your volume in order to be a polite guest. If this isn't something you're looking to do, then just throw the money at a more modern hotel experience. We liked it - not everyone will.
GGuest UserDear Sir/Madam,
I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard.
However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements:
1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue.
2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition.
3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience.
4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated.
5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space.
6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering.
In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction.
If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards,
