A fantastic hotel right on the beach, with an fabulous infinitely pool. The service was amazing, and the food in the hotel was excellent. I enjoyed the massage in the spa so much that I had another one the next day. I will definitely return.

No words are enough for this amazing hotel.. We stayed 5 nights in fortress and since our arrival the hospitality was top notch. The quality of the hotel facilities, food and room service is a 10/10! We were upgraded from fortress room to a side ocean view on our arrival and then we were upgraded again to an ocean view room on our 3rd day The open buffet breakfast quality is super good and there are many varieties. The restaurant views are outstanding facing the pool and the ocean. The staff working on the pool were very polite and helpful. The hotel also provides tuktuk ride services with reasonable and fixed prices which made our transportation around the area easier. One thing I truly admired about the hotel is the eagerness of the staff to make you feel happy and satisfied. We experienced an unforgettable honeymoon all thanks to this hotel! ❤️ Totally recommended for a couple getaway or a honeymoon destination.

We spent 6 nights at this excellent beach front hotel. The rooms are large and very well appointed. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Special mention to Sam in the restaurant, the pool attendants and the room attendants who created an amazing decoration on our bed for my wife’s birthday. The food is amazing although the portions are very large. We had an excellent cooking demonstration where we cooked, under supervision, 5 different curries. We then had these for dinner. Great fun. Happy to recommend this excellent hotel for a relaxing beach stay.

While looking for a place near Galle we booked this place since it’s an ocean front property. There are many things going for this property 1 . Superlative service by staff from check in to the room service to the staff at the White Restaurant . Always friendly and proactive 2. Food at the White restaurant is excellent- both Srilankan and Continental dishes 3. Large and luxurious ocean front rooms and a sprawling and clean pool Few things to be aware of 1. There are no good restaurants in the neighbourhood if you want to try a meal elsewhere. You will have to travel to the nearest town of Ahangama 2. Cabs and Tuk Tuks are pricey- Try Ashintha travels for better deals. Their coordinates are on Google 3. There’s nothing much to do apart from a Koggala lake tour and an evening to Galle fort. Also a day trip to Yala if one has the time. So come here if all you want to do is relax by the beach and watch stunning sundowners

If you’re looking for pure luxury and indulgence then, The Fortress Resort and Spa fits the bill. We spent 9 wonderful nights, being pampered and extremely well looked after. Our sea view room was beautiful, with stunning views. Without a doubt the staff are amazing, with special mentions to Ahmed on reception, Sam in the White restaurant, the Turtle man, for pool duties, and finally a great thanks to Weeasinghe who attended our room, and made a special effort with the decorations for my birthday. The food, in the White restaurant was amazing, with more than enough choice, and special requests were handled without drama or fuss. The buffet breakfast catered for all tastes, and again excellent choices. Probably the best beachfront hotel in Sri Lanka.

Excellent experience. Staff also very friendly and foods also delicious. Room also very clean and neat. Pool also good and very enjoyable. For kids there is no separate pool area. So don’t forget to bring swim floats kit for kids. Overall it was good experience. Love to visit again.

We had the most wonderful weeks stay at the Fortress early October. Couldn’t fault anything about the hotel & the service.The position right on the beach is sublime,the view from the room was gorgeous . This was our 4th visit to the beautiful island of Sri Lanka over a 25 year period and we have always visited a different location but we will return to the Fortress. Also we have always travelled at this time of year & can never understand why it’s classed as out of season ? The sea was too rough to swim in but there is a fab pool & we got a bit of rain of an evening but other than that we had great weather.The benefits of this time of year are cheaper rates & quieter hotels.The hotel was only 50% full & we were treated like royalty. Thank you to every one at the Fortress for making our stay sp special.

Welcoming staff for residents and non-resident guests... Splendid View from the entrance to every corner of the hotel...Tidy and Calm Environment...Delicious food with good varieties...Talented Team from the front office Himaya, Chef Khan, and all the other hardworking members to keep and maintain the vibe.. Best Hotel in Koggala and one of the best in Sri Lanka!
