Wild Atlantic Apartments Killarney

This place was a bit of a disappointment. It needs a lot of repair: taps, toilets, door trim and counter tops. There was one towel and one thin pillow for each guest. NO shampoo, no bathmat, no coffee maker, no ice cube tray, and no iron. However, we managed and we were fairly comfortable. It was generally clean. We were successful in doing our laundry.

The apartment was large and clean - plenty of room for a family of 4 - Mum and three teenagers, 2 girls and a boy. We had 2 double beds between us - which doesnt work with an 18-yr old son. The mistake was likely mine in the booking. We asked for another bed, which was provided - a fold-out with so many undulations you could have surfed on it. The bed came without bedding - in an Irish winter - so we had to pester the manager again - who did try her best to be helpful. We ended up raiding bedding under the stairs and my son slept on the couch. We didnt have any hot water for the 2 nights we were there and the heating in the bedrooms was erratic - more often off than on. And the electric jug kept shortening out the electricity, so we couldnt use that either. This was replaced on our second day. The manager tried to assist with the hot water which was on a timer system. We followed her instructions and tried numerous other options to get it working and in the end gave up. A handyman was supposed to come and check it, but there was no evidence of that. All in all it was a cold and stressful couple of days.

We are staying in Block B, apartment # 15. The apartment is certainly roomy enough and has the potential to be a really nice place to stay if it weren’t for the multitude of repairs that need to be made. Most of the needed repairs appear to be smallish things - working lights above he bathroom mirrors, patching/panting, missing sections of the vertical blinds, calking, etc. Unfortunately, where repairs have been made, they’ve been done poorly so things look very shoddy. There are some larger issues too, like poorly installed flooring (gaps & glue). Again, these apartments could be wonderful but for the lack of repairs/shoddy repairs. Another thing that would go along way into making this a more inhabitable place would be directions on how to operate the washer/dryer, heating units, and all the other devices that are foreign to people who don’t live in Europe!

Do not book - we stayed elsewhere even though we had paid for the apartment. It was dirty and smelled terrible - musty/moldy. And - you cannot contact anyone - everything done via text and email and no one responds to your concerns. Just takes your $$$ and sends you canned responses.

As a family of four we wanted somewhere that was clean, spacious and close to everything and we got that and more with these apartments. Absolutely spotless, staff really friendly and location ideal. Highly recommend this to anyone with kids, or a group of friends who want a weekend away

Great spot for a family. We were going to stay in a hotel but found this place. It worked out cheaper to stay here for 3 nights than a hotel for 2nights so it was a no brainer. It was basic but extremely clean. Josipa was so nice to deal with. When asking about a travel cot she had a high chair sorted without me even thing about it. She was always one step ahead. It’s also a perfect location (1.5miles out of town) Tesco and the shopping centre and of course McDonalds we’re all just a small stroll away. And even if your a parent who wants 10 mins to themselves Costa coffee is also close by . Kennedys pet farm is only 10mins out the cork road too. When taking the family back to Killarney we will most certainly be staying again. Thanks again Josipa and her team
