Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar Reviews

We were warmly greeted by the staff at the entrance. I had booked a deluxe room and had arrived early, would have appreciated an early checkin but the room wasn’t ready so meanwhile I explored the resort amenities. It has a private beach with a mini golf area and a bar alongside. The staff is friendly but most of the staff is new, a bit slow but they get you what you need. Maybe that’s how they’re wired, I’m unsure but they were kind. Pictures don’t do enough justice to this property. It’s massive, beautiful interiors with high end quality products. Loved the spa, felt so rejuvenated and I loved their bathing product line, the shower gels, etc. It’s ace quality. Food was good. They had live performance that got everyone on flood. It’s one of the best properties I’ve stayed at.

Simply perfect, amazing views and the band was amazing, horse riding at the beach! Great staff too, Alex was amazing!

Best resort in Zanzibar that gives you 5 star treatment ! Absolutely loved their service & warm welcome. Stuff is super nice & kind. If you need any assistance they are kind enough to help you. Their breakfast & dinner buffet is amazing! There’s always music playing + a live band. So many activities to enjoy at the resort. I will choose Sea Cliff resort again!

The room is not as big as expected, but relatively compact! In addition to normal taxes, there are some other hidden taxes!

Very nice experience, very beautiful place, the service was impeccable, a top-notch room, very varied food. I recommend Rajab, he is one of the receptionists who recommended many beautiful places to us.

CONS -No ocean to swim in (Low tide the majority of the day) so you will find no water to swim in additionaly, they are putting very sharp stakes in the heart of the ocean body -dont know why ,so take care u may get injured. - They offer their rooms as -one room for two adults -and when you show up as a couble , they will charge both of you so u will pay for one room twice. - Rude and Inflexible reception staff specially this one called TINA . -old shower and furniture definitely not suitable a five stars hotel. - location far from everywhere. - checkout at 10AM PROS -nice pool view. - friendly and kind bar and resturant staff. -Delicious breakfast .

We just came back from Zanzibar where we stayed 5 nights at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa. We had a amazing time in this hotel. All the staff are very caring, helpful and friendly. We had a warm welcome on arrival. Tina and his team ( Diana, Issa, Abou, etc ) are very professional. Our room was ready upon arrival. Food was amazing. There was different buffet every night. We had the chance to exchange with the F&B Manager Mr Jitendra who is very passionate with his work. A special thanks to Scola, Ashley, Rahim, Husna, Jireb, Jovina and all the F&B Team. The resort is absolutely stunning, with amazing views of the Indian Ocean. The right spot for the sunset in Zanzibar. There are a ton of activities to keep you busy, like mini golf, a kids club, and water sports even if the sea retreats very far during low tide. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with balconies that look out over the ocean. We stayed in a room in wing D with sea views. There are quite a few bars in the resort, so you can always have a drink at the beach, pool, or while playing mini golf. They all went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

I had an exceptional experience ,they are the best,from the warm reception,friendly staff,best rooms,food serving variety..ghey have a golf course and when you want to go to the beach they use a golf cart ,they have a free shuttle bus to stone house.

The hotel is beautiful, always very clean, well decorated, very relaxing. The food is really good. Having a drink, watching the sunset from the amazing swimming pool is spectacular! The best is the people: they make you feel you are special

The resort is well placed in Mangapwani and not too far from Stone Town. It is beautifully laid out over 5 Units named A to E. The resort boasts a golf course( did not experience) a wonderful squash court and plenty of activities for children. The private beach is in walking distance and there are carts for transportation too. If you do not fancy the sea(!!!) a full sized swimming pool caters of young and old. The team is well trained and drilled and always have a greeting with a smile. The rooms are well laid out and comfortable. The rooms are cleaned every day and anti mosquito spray is undertaken in the evenings with the laying of the mosquito nets. The dinners are themed for different nights and entertainment is provided. Unfortunately our initial experience was marred by our reception (being advised we had not paid when we had a clear document that all had been paid for - the blame was an administrative error!) and the room allocation. This room issue was somewhat rectified the following day but was not ideal. We did not want our short visit to be wasted and accepted what was proffered. So if you want to have a good view of the ocean and the sun set, you need to be in Blocks A and B on the upper level and ensure that you have an Ocean View Room. The food at the restaurant (Mangapwani Restaurant) for dinner was great. Plenty of choices and if you have a sweet tooth you are well cared for! However, try to be early. On two occassions our choicest dishes had run out and we were not even half way through service. This speaks volumes for the quality of the dishes!! At the beach some services are free and if you can book yourself for a catamarn trip. This made up for the disappointments to a degree! The gentleman was a true gentleman. I think it was Mustafa at the squash court who showed us around and organised for us to have a game of table tennis. A shuttle service to Stone Town is very welcome and the drop off is close to Forodhani. A great walk. There is a jetty from the resort to the ocean. A wonderful walk in the evening and very refreshing. Do not be surprised to find a security guard! Our departure day was again marred by an administrative error. A charge was included for the tourist tax. Once again having explained that this had been settled in advance and on checking this was removed. To misquote Wilde one mistake is a disaster but two is sheer carelessness. Overall we would recommend the resort and would certainly stay again. Our thanks to the team whom we could not thank individually. Thank you Diana for your help!!

This resort is an absolute dream. From the beautiful surroundings to the wonderful staff and the delicious food, I only have good things to say about this place but if I had to find a negative, it would only be that we had to leave. The pools are pristine, the beach peaceful and unique and each member of staff made my husband, son and I feel like family. Every single person went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay and I want to give a special thank you to Alex, Cosmas and Rose - our time at Sea Cliff wouldn’t have been as memorable without their kindness, attention to detail and true love for their job, the resort and its guests. We can’t wait to go back to a place that now feels like home with people that feel like friends and family. We won’t consider any other resort on the island.

Taken a solo vacation and what an experience. Rooms are clean , bedding always on tops. Excellent service and value for money. My award goes to Rose and Angelique , their service is out of this world. Staff always greet with a smile. Overall it is the best place to relax , strategise etc. They know how to cater for all the needs. Try them and you will never regret.
