Guesthouse Arsenis was amazing! I visited during the "off season", but the weather was still beautiful. The location could not have been better. It was a two minute drive into town and amazingly close to the monasteries. The view from my room and the dining area was gorgeous. Checking in was super simple and I had a chance to talk to the owner and his mother (who were both very, very kind!). The house and land have been in their family for generations and they have clearly taken very good care of it! The whole experience was very peaceful. I wish I could have stayed longer and would love to go back!

This is our second time at Arsenis Guesthouse as we love the view of pristine hills and olive groves that the rooms offer. The location is also perfect as it is just off the East Road that leads up to the monasteries which makes the place both perfectly well-connected and quiet at the same time. For information, this is right on the other side from where the majority of the hostels/hotels are located which is a huge plus for me as it keeps me away from the noise and that touristy feel.. The rooms, though plain, are very clean and towels are changed daily. Each room has its own ample balcony with a table and two chairs. There is a good wi-fi connection that is freely available. I could take a small bottle of mineral water from the fridge each day at no charge. They offer continental breakfast (EUR 7) and dinner (EUR 12). The dinner, from what I understood, consists of barbecue meat with fries and a Greek salad cooked on the spot by the hosts. There are plenty of tables both indoors and outside on the large verandah with a magnificent view of the hills and olive groves. The air there feels crystal clean. The hosts are members of the Arsenis family: two sons (Kostas and Panos), mother (Vasiliki) and father. Kostas is basically in charge and his Mum helps with the cooking. Kostas is quite a character as has been testified by some of the reviewers. You can see that he loves the place that they have created and wishes that many people from all over the world come and stay with them. He can come across as clumsy in his manners but I had no problem with it as I even found his idiosyncrasies quite amusing. After you take a room he always asks if you are also having your dinner with them. We chose not to and instead went to town to our favourite restaurant/tavern, Archontariki (13 Trikalon Riga Fereou Square, Kalambaka). There is also a lovely orchard on the property with cherry, fig, crimson and quince trees. Kostas gave me a jar of quince jam as a gift before we left. Nice!

The staff was very warm and welcoming, especially Costas, who welcomed us, arriving after dark, without a reservation. We arrived to a warm fire in the fireplace; and Costas' mother prepared a dinner for us in less than half an hour after we arrived. The location was great for seeing Meteora - which is a spectacular site, with magnificent views that go beyond description. This was a main highlight of our trip to Greece.

The Arsenis Guesthouse was very welcoming after a long day of driving from Athens. The location was excellent with amazing views of the mountains, and olive grove. Kostas, wanted to unsure our stay was perfect. A home cooked meal was prepared by his mother, which was in fact a wonderful family comfort food. Everything was clean, and very relaxing. Kostas's family invited us to sit by the fireplace after our meal, which insured us we were not being rushed. With the amazing location, cleanliness, and comfort I was so pleased visiting the Arsenis Guesthouse. Traveling from the USA and given such hospitality was amazing. We hope to visit again in the future!

The rooms were clean and functional, but the beds were too hard for us. The breakfast was also very nice. The hotel has its own large car park so it is very easy to find a space, and the surrounding area is gorgeous including the olive groves proudly run by the hotel. The owner really tries to provide a welcoming environment but can be over-friendly and could make you feel uncomfortable, especially as a female traveller, though we (mother and adult daughter) felt he was harmless and just trying to ensure a good stay/review. He gave us free bottles of water and Meteora fridge magnets each.

The Arsenis Guesthouse was one of the best choices we made in regards to location, cleanliness and comfort. From the moment we arrived and was greeted by Kostas our two night stay was a delight. The food served was simple, family comfort food. Our sleep was comfortable knowing all sheets and towels felt and smelt clean. The views from the balcony's overlooking the olive trees and the surrounding country side helped us slip into a relaxed frame of mind. The location to the monasteries was easy and allowed us to take our time and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Panos and Kostas and their family were amazing hosts. They all made our stay very enjoyable and we loved every minute of it. Our two young girls would have stayed on for much longer if possible. We would like to thank the Arsenis family very much for such a lovely, relaxing snd enjoyable stay. Hope to see you all again sometime.

Ideal place for visiting the Meteora, run by the family Guesthouse. All the information relating to visits to the Monasteries is given by the owner's son and an explanatory map is also provided. Large rooms with TV, air conditioning and fridge. Wifi and parking outside the structure. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the shower had a curtain. Very kind, in the morning they offered us a bottle of water and some very good bread made by their mother. Abundant breakfast with sweet and savory in quantity. We also had dinner once with grilled meat and Greek salad at an excellent price. Advised.

At the guesthouse you have the option as a camper to spend the night on site for free. A drink or a bite to eat in the restaurant is appreciated. You can also use electricity (€5) and a super hot shower (€6) for a fee. The host is super friendly and a lot is possible. The area is super beautiful and there is a lot to do. The food in the restaurant is super tasty (prepared on a wood grill outside) and there are also vegetarian options. The rooms are simple but clean.

Really such a beautiful place, the owner is very welcoming and took the trouble to explain to us how to get to the Meteora monasteries. I highly recommend!
