Hotels near Ohara Festival, Kagoshima

In the Astronomy-dori area, it is very convenient to eat and drink around. The airport bus is diagonally opposite. You can take the tram to Kagoshima Chuo Station, which is about a ten-minute drive away. The room is much smaller than the Yamato Rune in Kumamoto. They put an extra bed on the sofa for us, but there was no place for the suitcases, so we had to put it away by ourselves. There is a bedside table in the middle of the 1.2-meter double bed, which cannot be put together, so it is crowded for two adults and one child to sleep. The room is cleaned once every three days, and the garbage can be placed at the door. There is not even mineral water. The front desk is on the second floor, and there is only one elevator, so you often have to wait for a long time. The price is not expensive. Four nights for two adults and one child is only a little over two thousand. I may not choose this hotel next time. I didn't take pictures of the room, so I'll send a few pictures of some recommended restaurants around.

Mixed feelings. Hotel is 20 minutes walk (streetcar stop also close to Hotel) from railway station and close to the city center (incl. Tourists Informationen) with many restaurant options. Upgraded business hotel with bathrooms but nothing nice in top (eg no bar, onsen, Spa). Staff speaks limited English and even standard services (e.g. mailing / delivery service) not available but the convenience store saved me. Top floor with nice view and restaurant (European style) and breakfast is also served there. For an upscale business restaurant the breakfast was quite average and lesa good then the pictures in the website, maybe the limited the service because of the sport festival. Takeaway breakfast available if you leave early. Room are small and become overall quite after 22:00. For the price I paid I would have expect more especially if compared to other hotels chain like Dormy Inn, JR Hotela or Ana Crown Plaza which offer more value. Overall nothing bad but also nothing nice.

It is a business hotel located in the downtown Tenmonkan in Minami Kyushu, but it was only called ”Rem”, and I was able to sleep well as rarely for me to sleep until I was woken up by the alarm clock. The city trams and buses are running on the road right in front of me, but I didn't care about the noise at all. １ I had breakfast at the talis in the building because it was breakfast for the night, but it was quite well organized and substantial. I was able to choose from hot dog pancake toast.

The rooms are not very spacious. There is a simple desk, but it is a chair without a backrest. There is a small refrigerator, but it is not very good at cooling drinks, so I don't think it will be useful in the summer. I stayed here on a business trip, so it is fine if you only use it to sleep.

Hotel ribmaxＢＵＤＧＥＴKagoshima is a business hotel located in Ogawa CHO, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. On April 5, 2022, I walked through Shiroyama Park. From there, I drove to Hotel ribmaxＢＵＤＧＥＴ Kagoshima. There was a three-dimensional parking lot at the back of the super center Nissimta, which was a designated parking lot. Nishimta is a very large discount store. I could buy dinner here, but I bought it in Lawson (sweat;) across the road and headed for ribmax. The lobby is like this. My grandmother checked in earlier, so I went to the elevator as it was. Coin laundry is installed. I expected it because there was a sign of a natural hot spring, but it was not a resort condominium advertisement (sweat);) when I asked if there was a microwave oven at the front desk, I replied, ”I'm in the room” (surprised) If it is true, I will praise you for choosing this hotel. This day is the room on the top floor. It seems to be an old type of room that doesn't light the electricity unless you insert the promised ”grandmother who doesn't open the key” key. ”Grandma who can't stab the key”There was a microwave oven. The TV is also large. Twin room. This is 5,335 yen for two people with surprise !! It seems that the timing was good with dynamic pricing. Hot water heater. Grandpa who mistakenly has a hot spring. The key is not stabbed clean and the electricity is not lit. The toilet is a hot water toilet seat. The bathtub feels like this. Shampoo and so on were bottles. The view from the window is also great only on the 13th floor. In fact, I was scheduled to stay in Shiroyama Park on this day. However, the parking lot of Shiroyama Park was lonely and the toilet was near the slope, so I didn't want to stay in the car. So I searched on my smartphone and found here. It was a dynamic price and was a cheap price. Because it was 17 o'clock on the day, there would be Merritt more than the hotel would be vacant. It became a strength that it was a premise that it was possible to stay in the car. Just a smoking room, so it is a disadvantage that it smells less 々 cigarettes. After finishing sightseeing in Yakushima and returning to Kagoshima City by ferry. The stay on this day was also made to Hotel ribmax ＢＵＤＧＥＴ Kagoshima. What a room was the same room. The hotel is a short distance from the Shinkansen station,( trolley stop N11). Take the trolley to N8 . The breakfast was very good and the burgers are great for lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Waki, who was a great help for me applying for a visa.

Except for the compact room, everything else is satisfactory. The breakfast is very good, the hot spring is also good, there is a round-trip bus from the hotel to Kagoshima Central, the hotel departure time is 20 minutes and 50 minutes every hour, and the departure time from Kagoshima Central West Exit to the hotel is also 20 minutes and 50 minutes every hour. The shuttle bus starts at 6 am and ends at 10 pm. The hotel is worth experiencing!

The Sherton Hotel in Kagoshima was an absolute gem of a hotel! This is our first visit to Japan, and we are admittedly nervous about the language barrier and cultural change from the US. From the moment we checked in, the staff has bent over backwards to make sure we are comfortable and have done a fantastic job to make this stay completely comfortable and enjoyable. The location is perfect right at the center of downtown Kagoshima, and the rooms, restaurants, and common spaces have more in common with a Four Seasons than with what is standard Sheraton in the US. We were not able to take advantage of the spa, but the Onsen (Hot Springs Sauna) was so relaxing and rejuvenating — especially after 26 hours of flights to get here! HIGHLY recommended. Thank you to the staff that has helped make our 4 days in Kagoshima a memorable experience! Now off to Hiroshima!

Hotel is a bit far from train station but they do provide free shuttle bus service. The hot springs bath is located on the top floor with good view of the volcano mountain. You can enjoy the views while taking the bath. There are also many shopping and entertainment complexes close by.

I stayed in an ocean view twin room on the 5th floor for one night from June 10th (Saturday). Unfortunately, due to the rain, we were unable to do the ocean SUP that we had planned. This hotel, Sekisui House, is located next to a roadside station and has been opened all over the country for the purpose of revitalizing and interacting with local communities, and Marriott is responsible for its operation. It is a complete ”hotel specializing in lodging,” and meals and activities are provided at nearby local facilities. As it is run by Marriott, the rooms were clean and functionally laid out, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Also, the view of Kinko Bay from the room was wonderful, and there was a beautiful beach right in front of me, so I thought it was a perfect location for swimming in the summer. However, there is no bathtub, and there are no hot spring facilities at the adjacent roadside station, so as a Japanese person who prefers bathtubs, I feel a little unsatisfied. The multipurpose lounge on the first floor was very calm, well-designed, and very comfortable. Here, they provided free services such as coffee and miso soup, as well as a microwave and toaster, all of which were of good quality. It can be made of paper, so I think it will be easier to use if you have cutlery such as plates, spoons, and chopsticks. There's also a coin laundry and a small market space, which I felt was put into place with a lot of thought. I think the issue is the negative relationship between the local community and the hotel. I thought that the area would automatically be revitalized by the establishment of a hotel, and I felt that hotels were leaving all aspects of the area to the area, and there was not much cooperation between them. We also hold events that bring together the hotel and the local community. We felt that there was a need for both parties to work together, such as creating new ways to highlight the best aspects of the area to guests.
