Chateau Vary

Paradise is situated in Jarzé. We left this beautiful castle today and we miss it already. The owners Bénédicte and Paul are the perfect hosts. A smile on their face from 8 to late :). Great hospitality, food and wines high standing. Do not forget to ask Paul to make his “Pain perdue” or Bénédictes “Tarte Tatin” Cherry on the cake Alberto who is assisting the owners has everything to be a sommelier and a great cook as Well. Perfect place.

I cannot recommend Chateau Vary highly enough. Benedicte and Paul are fantastic hosts. They have taken on a huge renovation project which has been done with incredible attention to detail. The rooms are all en-suite and completely luxurious. They have thought of everything- right down to the selection of charging points next to each bedside table. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom really well appointed and lovely and warm. We were treated to,Paul’s cuisine which was delicious. The cottages add an extra dimension as they can be booked separately or just as additional rooms to the main chateau. A walk through the forest is essential, so calm and peaceful with the accompaniment of birdsong you could be the only people for miles. It would be the most beautiful setting for a wedding or family celebration. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful place! We had six nights here after several weeks on a road trip around France and Switzerland and it was the perfect ending to an amazing trip.. A warm welcome and a beautifully comforting room with high quality furnishings and an excellent ensuite was just the start. Our hosts cooked a fabulous meal for us which was paired with local wines, carefully selected by Paul. Throughout the week dinner was always a joy. Added to the fabulous food and wine was the very sociable dining experience of all guests sitting together. We had so much fun all week with great, diverse company in wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Chateau Vary is a great base for exploring the area which has so much to offer.

This was my second painting trip at Chateau Vary. The chateau is beautiful and very comfortable. Benedict and Paul are the perfect hosts and the weather was amazing! We enjoyed delicious meals with fresh produce and local wines. A great opportunity to experiment with painting with help and advice from Mark. A lovely holiday!

An amazing venue with such friendly and attentive hosts. We stayed in one of the cottages but ate at the House. Wonderful food and accompanying local wines. A great base to explore the area but we came for Le Mans. It all made for a very memorable long weekend, and was really good value. I wish Paul & Benedicte all the best for their business and hope to see them and their glorious Chateau again.

What a lovely place to stay! Our hosts could not have been more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely, my room was beautiful, the surroundings more than worth painting. All in all a week to remember! Thank you Paul and Benedicte.

A big thank you to Chateau Vary for their outstanding hospitality. Rooms, F & B superb and the cleanliness and attention to detail spot on. The Chateau grounds were really well maintained and ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break. We will definitely stay at Chateau Vary again 👍

Best holiday I’ve had in years! Benedicte and Paul were so welcoming and friendly, you felt part of their family. The food is outstanding and the chateau so beautiful and spacious. I loved the decor and public rooms. The bedrooms were large, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. I can’t wait to return to the Chateau Vary for my next luxurious, relaxing holiday.

Chateau Vary has been recently refurbished to the highest standard. The bedrooms are beautiful with large windows looking over the lovely parkland around. Paul is a superb chef and provided the most delectable meals whilst Benedicte's wonderful eye for detail was apparent throughout our visit They were wonderful hosts and we had a memorable holiday. We enjoyed some lovely visits to local areas where we could experiment with our painting under superb guidance of artist Mark Warner.
