湯本は割と無名ですが、ひなびた温泉宿がすきなら、東京から二時間でここに来ましょう。この辺の宿は朝ごはんだけのプランになってて、商店街との共存を図っているそうです。この宿は部屋は和風でセットの朝食も和風ですが、ディナーをここで食べると結構上等なフレンチ風料理でとても美味しいです。お風呂はどこでも泉質は同じと思いますが、露店風呂、家族風呂もあり満足しました。
