I recently had the pleasure of staying at Zhotel in Shanghai, and it was an unforgettable experience! The hotel boasts a stunning location with breathtaking views of the iconic skyline, making it a perfect backdrop for photography. The ambiance is chic and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere the moment you step inside.
There is a construction site right in front of the hotel though. We had to keep our balcony closed the entire time.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable. The room was beautifully designed with modern amenities, and the balcony view was simply to die for. I spent hours just soaking in the vibrant city life below.
Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a stylish place to explore the city, Zhotel is definitely worth considering. I can't wait to return!

As an amanjunkie, I came to Shanghai during the National Day holiday to experience the old Shanghai Shikumen-style hotel - Capella Shanghai Jianyeli. The villa room type is very distinctive. The door opens to a green courtyard. The living room is on the first floor. The flower art and welcome fruit are very pleasant. The strawberry fruit tart tastes great. It is probably the flagship product of his bakery. The first and a half floors are a leisure audio-visual room. The free mini bar drinks are very rich. The master bedroom on the second floor, the twin bed room I booked this time, feels more reasonable and convenient than the double bed room. The second and a half floors are the main bathroom, which is spacious and has a good smell of Mulan Qinxia's washing and care. Going up is a terrace where you can blow the wind and look at the stars. Although the hotel does not have many cultural parent-child activities, it is absolutely rich in the experience of taste buds. Breakfast is a single-order buffet that is standard in luxury hotels, and the taste is impeccable. The morning ceremony seems to have returned to a hundred years ago against the backdrop of the old Shanghai ”Shenbao”. The library exclusive benefits in the afternoon provide coffee, tea and a variety of delicious snacks that are different every day. The cocktails at the French restaurant Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire in the evening are also not to be missed. During our three night stay, the main cocktails were different every night, and there were also non-alcoholic drinks suitable for children. The hotel's service level is impeccable, comparable to Aman, and it is a perfect family trip.

Taiyuan Villa, located at No. 160 Taiyuan Road, Shanghai, is a classic French late Renaissance building with a history of 100 years. In 1946, General Marshall, as the special envoy of the US President, stayed here when he came to China to mediate the dispute between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, so it is also called ”Marshall Villa”. After liberation, it became the State Guesthouse of Shanghai. Chairman Mao and other leaders and many historical celebrities have lived here. The villa is located in the city center, with a large garden, quiet in the bustling city, elegant environment, large rooms, and within walking distance to Huaihai Middle Road and Wukang Road. [呲牙][强]

The service is very good, must praise! The hotel is in the lively ancient town, and the noise outside the door is quiet as soon as you enter the door. The hotel converted from an ancient house, the antique buildings under the huge camphor tree, are refreshing! It is also very convenient to play in the ancient town. The lunch and dinner included in the set meal are very rich and delicious. It is a good experience. I will stay here next time I go to the ancient town👍

Love it!! Spacious, comfortable and bright. The staff is friendly and helpful. They sent our luggage to the room and introduced us to the famous views. On the road of Nanjing street and just around the corner of MRT station. The breakfast buffet was so-so, and the dining area is limited. And draining is a bit slow in the bathroom. The front desk mentioned we should remove the cover of drainage when we feedback during the check out. The overall experience is super satisfying.

We had a 2 night stay at the historic Yangtze Boutique Hotel. Very easy to get to by Metro. People's Square exit 14 and you will be right there. Everything about this hotel is pure class. The hotel has a unique and interesting history that they embrace and present beautifully. As you can see in the pictures the room itself is luxurious and very very comfortable. Attention to detail is found throughout the hotel including the unique displays on each floor highlighting Old Shanghai history. Our stay coincided with Typhoon Beibijia 贝碧嘉 - the strongest storm to hit Shanghai since 1949. The professional and friendly staff made sure we were well informed and taken care of. Thank you to all for your hard work during that time. If you are looking for a high end boutique hotel experience that captures the Old Shanghai history and also puts you right in the best location to see modern day Shanghai attractions like The Bund, Nanjing Lu and People's Park you will find it with this wonderful hotel.

YYiu TingPremium location. In one of the most prosperous area in Shanghai with lots of shopping and dinning choice. Transportation is easy as it is just above Metro line 2 which can take you to airport with just RMB7. The hotel is in a very cool old Shanghai style building while deco inside are new and modern. Huge room and bath with good equipment such as Bluetooth speaker. Not the typical chain hotel types of 5-stars services but all staffs are so friendly and helpful! They notice we are struggle to get our ride using Didi given we aren’t local, and they offer proactively help to get the ride for us and even bring us to the driver who have missed their way somewhere outside a block away. Thanks for that and for sure we will come again!

YYuanIt was useful that trip tells you the size of the beds so that you can determine whether they’re big enough to share with children. Lots of the hotels say that children can stay free, but the beds are no way big enough. The shanghai garden hotel has 2x 1.2m single beds in a standard room, which is considered a small double in the uk, and was comfortable for my family of 4.
We visited the swimming pool during our stay and it was very refreshing. Be advised it is mandatory to wear swim cap. Which will have to be purchased if you don’t have it.
Breakfast was vast, lots of choice of Chinese, Japanese and western style. We particularly enjoyed 混沌汤, 点心。 Disappointed with the 包子, 生煎包 - which didn’t really have much filling, flavour, and 油条 - which wasn’t fluffy felt it was cooked from frozen. Particularly annoying when we were asked to pay the high full price for our small 12 year old and half price for 7 year old, rather than by height which is what other hotels do. They hardly ate anything! Consider being more family friendly!

SSilvino We’ve always been intrigued by this hotel. We enjoyed the rich history of the place. This is reflected by the intricate details found throughout the hotel—beautiful wood parquet, stained glass, etc. Our room was great, and the bathroom has luxe sundries and facilities (Dyson hairdryer, heated toilet seat, bidet). Included in our room is the access to the Executive Lounge, which offers beverages (canned drinks, a bottle of red and white wine, a bottle of liquor, coffee and tea) and an assor**ent of packaged snacks, biscuits, and pastries. We didn’t take the tour because they don’t offer it in English. The breakfast was just ok.

BBezukiIt was live-able and very spacious. Close to a lot of stores and restaurants should you want to do shopping. As for the alcoholic beverage lovers, it is right up your alley with tons of bars in the vicinity. However, there was somewhat an off setting odor of smoke. I could hear some noise from the room next door. Note that the mini bar in the room is an additional fee upon usage.

GGuest UserThis hotel is located about 1,5 km from the bund. Short walk for dining or shopping. The service is very good, they have people that open the door when you are coming and going they also call taxi if you ask for it. The Hotel are old but cosy, and the rooms are big and comfortable. The style look more expensive than the price for staying there. We only used the hotel for sleep and were outside most of the time, so we didn’t explore what other facilities the hotel had to offer. Very happy with our stay and recommend this hotel for others who want to visit Shanghai
