Classic English hotel. This really is a 5 star destination. From beginning to end of our stay over it was great. The food was first class, the service and general help around the hotel was super professional It was a pleasure to stay here Kudos to management here, your staff and everything we encounter here are well run and a pleasure to be around

Stayed for 2 nights in this fabulous hotel overlooking the Hermanus Coast with coastal walks in both directions. We drove up and car parking was free and secure on site. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed and looked after extremely well with all staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an Ocean View Room with a spacious bathroom, huge comfortable bed and pleasant seating area. Service came with lots of complimentary touches! We decided to eat in the restaurant on the first night and the food was so good we also went back on night 2. Special mention to Sharon who looked after us so well on both nights. Breakfast was included in our stay and we were amazed at the level of choice and how delicious all the food was. We loved it here and if/when we visit Hermanus again we would definitely stay here.

Summary: Stunning! One of the Top 2% of hotels we have stayed in. Received quintessential, top-notch and continuous customer service from the entire staff from pre-arrival to check-in to check-out. The little “extras” and the “attention to details” all add up to an unforgettable stay: -1) Responsiveness & assistance of the staff during our planning/pre-arrival stage was second-to-none. -2) Arrangements for our transfer from Cape Town Airport to the Marine, for our day tour of the area, and the subsequent ride to Cape Town were flawless. -3) Coordination for spa treatment appointments and dinner reservations (both inside and outside the hotel) catered to our schedules. -4) Personally escorted tour of the hotel grounds and description of the amenities as we were guided to our spacious room with the “million dollar” view of Walker Bay. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer… The general manager runs a well-coordinated, well-versed staff; it is one to emulate and venerate. The Marine hotel, the grand dame of Hermanus, is definitely the place to stay on our future visits to Hermanus.

The staff were exceptional. Very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel is beautiful and the food was amazing. A wonderful experience that we will treasure. We only wish that on our trip around South Africa we couldn’t stay longer.,

It was a privilege to be a guest at this superb hotel just recently. Attention to detail was second to none. I only wish had been able to stay longer. Extra excitement at seeing whales in the bay whilst having breakfast. Bedrooms were well appointed, had all the little extras that make a stay so pleasurable. Breakfast was a great experience, well served with a great choice of food.
