Staff of front desk is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is standard. However, the hotel is dated and need renovation.

Location was a little rough due to the rental property behind the motel we also had problems with the room, breakfast was not very good, most of the exterior doors didn't work so you had to prop the door to keep from getting locked out

The motel was being upgraded so was a bit disorganized...breakfast was not very good at all. Should have warned us about that when booking. This survey is not pleasant so I'm just adding words now to reach the 200 character minimum.

To begin with we found this hotel under a different name on *********** as they had just changed ownership. The first clue that maybe we should not stay there was when we entered the lobby and saw that the whole place was under construction. The fireplace was only partially finished, the big room behind that was completely torn apart, and the hallways were under construction but since we had a long day of driving we decided to stay there anyways. We got to our room and the first thing we noticed was the TV's did not work and there were no trash cans. I returned to the office to complain and they agreed to have us change rooms. One of the staff followed me to the room with trash cans and when we got there we discovered that my wife had the TV's fixed (batteries were not in the remotes and it took time for TV's to start working) so thinking that all the problems were solved we agreed to stay in the original room. After we got all unpacked we started looking around we noticed the floor lamps were not plugged in, the refrigerator was also not plugged in and because the large cabinet that it was in was not positioned properly against the wall the cord was too shot to reach the plug so I placed the refrigerator on a table to be able to use it Also noticed there were no clothes hangers or coffee pot. Turned the AC on and left to get something to eat, returned several hours later only to find the AC was not putting out any cold air so we ended up just opening a window. Then discovered that the way the two TV's were positioned one remote would control both TV's, turn one TV on they both come on same for changing channels unless you had the remote about one foot in front of one TV. Since the construction workers had to use the elevators both elevators were extremely dirty with trash everywhere. The ice makers in the hallways did not work ( but were told if we really needed ice they could get some from the kitchen) and to top it all off every time the toilet was flushed water would squirt out from under the tank on to the seat. I'm sure this will be a nice place to stay when all construction is complete but asking people to put up with all the inconveniences until then is absurd!

I get that post-pandemic hotels and other services are hard to staff. I know that people and businesses are stressed. But good managers will ensure their clients receive at minimum clean and safe service. I am here to explain the reality of post-pandemic Wingate Helena. I had three misfortune of staying there twice: two nights last week, and two nights this week. Both experiences were equally bad, although I will say that room 137 was worse than room 312 in two ways: room comfort and noise level. But overall, both rooms were awful in terms of cleanliness. The attached describe it all: moldy bathroom fixtures, dirty floors, stained chairs, unclean and broken fixtures, and a toilet with urine drip. The hotel itself is in need of maintenance. A leaky ceiling led to hallway bucket situation for at least 24 hours; carts are left in front of doors obstacle course-style (read: fire hazard), and common zones such as breakfast area and stairwells are not cleaned/vacuumed. Front desk staff need some training and experience, and there needs to be more of them. For example, we waited 20 minutes to check out while the new hire sorted out a large fire crew’s bill, all alone with no manager present to assist. This could come with time and I’m willing to give credit for friendliness and attempts at getting it right. Coffee in the lobby is surprisingly good and hot. Not enough to give this place a 2 instead of a 1.

A friend dropped me off. I was solo on my last night of fishing trip, so wasn't hard to please. But the whole place is too unfinished (under construction) to bring my wife. King bed was comfortable, bathroom was new and fine, A/C and wifi worked. Rest of the suite-sized room was large, but bare-bones, with ugly (old?) couch and a couple of random tables. No chairs for sitting. Airport transfer sketchy. I called to confirm it for 5:45 two weeks in advance, was told there was no transfer (though it's on website), but they would call for a car. Then I called two days before and they said I would have a van at 6:45. When I checked in they said that nothing was scheduled, but they would have a car if I was there by 5:30. When I showed up at 5:30, they said nothing was scheduled, but they would wake up a guy who would drive me. He showed up in a Wingate SUV, but didn't get out of the car to handle my luggage either departing or arriving. The call themselves an "Airport" hotel? One convenience, is the cafe a 2-minute walk from the motel.

No TV, No pool and a disappointing breakfast. Staff are very nice but having to deal with lack of leadership from corporate. I realize that construction is taking place but no excuse for not making the public aware of the deficiencies. To make things right there should be a price reduction during construction, but there is not. Typical poor corporate leadership placing profit over clients needs and expectations. You lost our business.

DON'T UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES STAY AT THIS HOTEL. As others before me who have left a 1-star review for the Wingate Hotel in Helena, MT, I too have fallen victim to the hotel owners' deceptive practices. The owners state the hotel is under renovation and the pool is closed, but their website indicates free hot buffet breakfast (since removed from the website), a fitness center, and HDTV, none of which are provided. A grab-and-go breakfast is provided in a small room with 1 table for all guests in the hotel to eat at, the fitness center is closed, there is no TV in the rooms, there are no working ice machines, and guests have to access their rooms through the construction site, which is littered with construction debris as well as workers. Our room was dirty but at least we had TP and soap. The manager could not adjust our bill, which was $266 with tax per night because the owners have blocked her access to prevent her from helping you. This is certainly an example of fraud at its finest. I would encourage anyone who has been deceived by these hotel owners as I was to contact Wyndham corporate and demand they shut this hotel down. By representing themselves as a Wyndham property and continuing to deceive the public, they are tarnishing Wyndham's reputation, which will certainly come back to bite them.
