Top notch employees. So friendly, so service - oriented, so authentic! I don't want to speak about the hardware: It's new and spotless and the quality of the breakfast for a three star chain is much better than you would expect. But extraordinary are the employees I met today. Front office is super friendly and efficient. Can't remember their names but took a pic of them. They are the right persons at the right place. They walk the extra mile. When it comes to the breakfast area I encountered their team leader Maeretha. She is one of a kind. Extremely enthusiastic with a winning personality she could excel in any field. She is very happy with her job and fulfills her role in an exceptional way. If I would be her father I would send her studying at a Swiss hotel school to become the CEO of Hilton Germany 🇩🇪! It was a pleasure to meet her.

I stayed in ”Alte Wache” hotel 2 nights for working reasons, arriving by taxi from the apt. The kindness, courtesy and service efficiency of the gentleman and the lady at the reception deserve a top rate. They both are a great example of care and warm hospitality, making every guest feel really welcomed. The lobby is nice in its old fashion style, the double room is spacious, perfectly clean and silent; breakfast was very good, and much better than some 4stars hotel: the tea blend selections very appreciated and the fresh flower on the tables a lovely, precious gift!! 2 small suggestions: 1) the morning waitress should be a little bit more smilying; 2) do not accomodate a person alone in a dinner table for 6. The hotel is also extremely close to city center (walking distance), so I really reccomend it!!

+ Modern and stylish + Everything was clean + Everything was as shown on the pictures - A cleaner knocked and then opened my door, before I could reply to the knock, at 9:45. Check-out is at 11. The door was locked from the inside, apparently that means nothing. ***? I was trying to sleep, I had not checked out, and the door was locked. How can this happen?! Next, they start vacuuming and rummaging around the cabin horizontally adjacent to me across the next 30 minutes, which made it impossible to sleep again. (I had a late night, and was going to have a long day and evening this day, hence me wanting to sleep nearly another hour before I had to get up for check-out.) - Not quite soundproof; hallway music was turned on around 9:30 and softly audible inside the cabin. (I did not hear any noise from guests in other cabins.) It did not wake me up, but it did not help with falling back asleep. - Not quite light-proof either. The shutters dim it to the light level of a half-full moon: not enough to read a book, but you can see detailed outlines of everything still. - The temperature in a cabin cannot be regulated; it's rather warm (if it were cold, you could just put on another blanket... but it was slightly too warm) + Plenty of charging spots in the cabin + The cabin feels cozy - The pillow was extremely thin. Most pillows are too thick for me, but this pillow was like laying on a fluffy towel. No other pillows available inside the cabin (I did not ask for another one either). I added my (yet unused) shower towel below it and that was fine. - The bed was very high up (around my belly button iirc; I'm 1.80m tall). Fine for me, but if you are not athletic, you cannot get in. Grabbing something from your bag below at night meant getting up and doing gymnastics. There was a little plank on the wall which looked like a shelf and I am not sure would have held me (63kg); unclear whether this is meant as a stepping aid but it was a bit low and narrow for that anyway. + Enough space in the cabin to store your backpack as well as taking some things out of the backpack while getting (un)dressed standing up. This is different (much more spacious) than the capsules you might have seen from Japan. + Showers were a good and consistent temperature + Good price for vegan food in the restaurant I saw other reviews mentioning a draft of air aimed at their face all night: I did not have that, no matter whether I laid with my head or with my feet towards the door. My air vent supplied a tiny amount of cool air, barely flowing and not noticeable unless you put your hand beside it. Another review mentioned an automatic light turning on whenever they moved at night. My automatic night was below the bed and did not trigger unless I stood there. The main light and another adjustable reading light were button-operated. My cabin was #002, the upper cabin of a pair. I paid 60 euros for the first night (December 26-27), and would have paid 90 for a second night b

This is from an American perspective. I found the room rather small - with a Queen bed being the largest bed size, and not much room for anything else in the room. The bathroom was adequate enough - no major complaints there. The bedding (including pillows) was not up to Marriott standards in my opinion. The A/C was a joke. It did not matter what temp or setting I used - it was always the same temperature. I had to open/close the window to adjust the room temp. The TV was a decent size, but they only had 3 English channels - BBC/CNN/CNBC. So no English entertainment channels. The only other option was Youtube channel - to watch video clips. No Netflix or other apps where you can sign in with your own account. Also - no closet/no drawers/no coffee maker/no mini-fridge/no ice bucket nor ice machine. This hotel is also not around much. There is a supermarket within walking distance, but there are some shady people along the way. Also a couple of random restaurants near the market - but not for a decent meal. You would need to walk about a mile to get to some decent places to eat. The breakfast was good with lots of options. And the best part of this hotel was the staff. They were all very friendly and always eager to assist.

All in all the hotel is quite good, unfortunately some shortcomings put it to average for us. Upon check in, was asked at the reception whether we were Covid vaccinated 2 or 3 times. The certificate itself was barely looked at and no QR code scan was done. During our 3 nights stay, this was correctly done when entering Restaurant for breakfast, so why not at first contact point Reception? Upon entering our room (336), immediately noticed that it was rather cold inside. Normal if a window is open and aircon set at lowest level… Noticed as well that some empty shopping paper bags and some used brochures had most probably been forgotten during cleaning. In fact the bags were rather big and could not be overseen… Worse however were 2 used plastic cups in the bathroom, once again impossible to oversee them! The room itself was quite ok if you do not consider some stains on carpet and chair, however the very small wardrobe is kind of bad joke. ONE small storage compartment for a double room and no other storage possibilities in the room is far from standard! Breakfast on Sunday morning was rather chaotic with a completely full restaurant. Why not attribute time slots in order to avoid such a situation? This is done in some hotels and is rather helpful. On the day of our departure, somebody knocked at our room door at 08.45 am. Quite astonished that it was the cleaning lady who asked at what time we would leave... Had never experienced such acting in any other hotel also considering the check-out time of 11.00 am

The hotel isn't quite finished yet, but I still felt very comfortable there. The location is great, you can quickly walk to the Alster or take the subway to the city center. There are many practical details in the hotel (kitchen in the room, water dispenser in the breakfast room). The staff is very friendly. Especially for only 3 nights, I thought it was great that no room service was included - you really don't need it in such a short time. The breakfast contained everything you need to start the day. The only thing I missed was a kind of bedside table next to the bed and salt/pepper shakers on the tables at breakfast - there was only one on the buffet, which is a bit impractical. OK - it's still the furniture I knew from the time when it was the Forum Hotel. And that's very long ago. But in autumn the renovation is supposed to go. The reception was very friendly. It's been really fun. I have a beautiful room with beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately, very much is built so that you may not be able to look at the elbe at all next time. Unfortunately. This time there was even a process that was close. Until the water pressure (15th floor) the shower was all right. But this is natural and there was no standard. I was surprised at breakfast. Besides the friendly staff, which quickly cleaned, the offer was very versatile. I asked: the fricadels tasted as they did (burned apple pieces) and not for convenience. But you didn't want to make yourself with foreign pearls and thought it was convenience. But it was all very good. I will put the hotel more in my focus once I'm back in Hamburg.

The check-in service went without problems and quickly we received our room. The staff is premature and friendly. The room was also clean. And also offers enough room for clothes. The bathroom is small, but it is enough for shower and tooth cleaning. We would have booked breakfast if we didn't have to leave so early. For a weekend trip, this hotel is recommended.

We found this great small hotel in New Wulmstorf and we were very happy to find a so beautiful and tasty house. The rooms are spacious, very nicely furnished and absolutely clean. Although our room was on the Bundesstraße, we have not got anything from the street, thanks to the multi-glass windows. The room is with a small Nespresso machine so you can make a coffee in the morning and enjoy it relaxedly in bed. The bathroom is also well cut. The shower with glass doors is large and there is no water running out when doing the shower - which is unfortunately often the case in many hotels. The staff are very premature, polite and helpful. As our relatives live nearby, we will certainly visit this pleasant hotel more often.

Die Lage des Hotels in Norderstedt ist sowohl was Ruhe wie auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten anbelangt recht gut. Am Rande des kleinen Moorbek-Parkes (mit Wanderwegen) gelegen bietet die Umgebung die nötige Ruhe, nach vorne heraus gibt es nahebei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und auch kostenfreie Parkplätze. Flugzeuglärm vom etwa 5 Kilometer entfernt befindlichen Hamburger Flughafen Fuhlsbüttel hört man so gut wie nicht. Nur bei sehr ungünstiger Windlage ist in weiter weiter ferne ein leichtes Motorensummen zu hören (bei geöffnetem Fenster). Vom Hotel in die Hamburger Innenstadt, z.B. zur Elbphilharmonie sind es immerhin eine Stunde Fahrzeit mit U- und S-Bahn. Wir hatten das Doppelzimmer 124 zugeteilt bekommen, ein recht gut und funktionell ausgestattetes Zimmer mit Blick auf den hinteren Park. Das Zimmer war ausgestattet mit guten Betten, in denen wir erholsam geschlafen haben. Zudem gab es im Raum eine lange Schreibtisch-Kombination, einen guten Flachbild-Fernseher, Wasserkocher, Kühlschrank, kostenlosen Safe, Kofferablage und einen Schrank. Recht positiv empfanden wir die Fußbodenbeleuchtung unter dem Nachttisch, die mit einem Bewegungsmelder ausgestattet war und nachts den Weg zur Toilette nicht zur Stolperfalle werden ließ. Das Zimmer nebst zugehörigem Badezimmer (mit begehbarer Dusche und ”Regenwalddusche”) waren sauber und schienen neuwertig ausgestattet. Beim Frühstück herrschte eine zwanglose nette Atmosphäre. Die Auswahl am Frühstücks-Buffett war echt gut. Es gab u.a. Brot, frische Brötchen, Salate, Säfte, Käse, Wurst, Rührei, gekochte Eier, Marmeladen, uam. Kaffee stand in Warmhaltekannen bereit. Soweit ich weiß bietet das Hotel außer einer Hotelbar und kostenfreiem Wlan keine gesonderten Freizeitangebote an. Vom Hotel aus sind aber bequem mit ÖPNV die Hamburger Innenstadt zu erreichen. Die U-Bahnstation ist rund 400 Meter entfernt (durch den Park ist es noch etwas kürzer). Nahebei befinden sich Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Parkplätze. Tipp: Während der Tiefgaragen-Parkplatz beim Hotel pro Tag 9 Euro kostet, parkt man in nahen Seitenstraßen kostenlos, an Sonn- und Feiertagen auch ganz nahebei gegenüber der Edeka. Unter der Woche braucht man dort eine Parkscheibe.
