Motel 6 Groton, CT

Pros: Staff were nice and accommodating. Mattress was super comfortable, we slept great, parking was plentiful. Cons: I walked barefoot on the hardwood floor and I noticed a horrible odor coming from my feet. FIRST, I had JUST taken a shower and SECOND my feet never smell like THAT. I proceeded to look under my feet and to horror my feet were greasy and smelled like poo. I was like HO MO GOD that's foul! when I wiped the floors with a towel the towels came back black as night. SO floors are disgusting, also there were some questionable characters possibly living there.

This is a nice, clean place run by nice, effective people. For a big plus, eat at the restaurant too. Some of the best Indian food that we have had in quite some time.

Hilton Garden Inn Mystic/Groton

This place is super clean and very spacious. It’s right next to Walmart which is super handy when you have forgotten something. They even connected the parking lots!. The pullout couch for the kiddos was actually really comfortable. It’s been maintained and plan to stay here again. Only recommendation, the shades are not dark. If you have kiddos, consider bringing a blackout curtain. The rooms are very bright, the blinds are not darkening.

I thought this was a decent hotel until I saw the pool and dripping ceilings. The pool room was straight out of a Saw movie flickering lights included. The pool had no working filter and at five feet deep we couldn't see our legs, we were swimming into hair balls. I ended up with bacterial infections in both ears and shingles. Shingles may not have been caused by pool but I know my painful ear infections were caused by it. The room however had a very nice bed and was very clean. The artwork was sparce and from the eighties. It looked as if it may have been a work in progress, so maybe it will improve. The free breakfast was terrible compared to other Wyndham properties, vending machines were empty and there were no ice machines. Staff was friendly.....I will forever remember this trip bc of the scary, hepatitis pool.
