It's very convenient to book this hotel in Vancouver. It's next to the University Center. Next to this hotel is Leap Canada attractions. It's really good to stay in this hotel for the second time

The position is wonderful. You can easily get the access to Canada line and go anywhere; last but not least, the airport is just nearby. The service is also great. Nice hotel to give a try.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

The room is indeed very warm and very quiet, suitable for people who need a good sleep. The host can speak Chinese and English, so it can have an international atmosphere, suitable for people who want to experience it. The only suggestion is that there are some guidelines that can be better, such as the location of the entrance and how to use home equipment. Especially for some people who have just traveled abroad from China, they may not be familiar with the use. It is recommended that you can Instructions in Chinese and English are written next to some commonly used equipment.

Paradox Hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in a long time. We typically stay at Four Seasons, Fairmont’s, and other hotels similar to these types of hotels. Paradox had first class service starting at the valet (Marty), along with all individuals at the front counter. To top off our stay, we had Andrew from concierges that took great care of us, as he went above and beyond for my wife’s 40th birthday celebration. -I will be writing a person letter to Andrew, for all the amazing things he did to make our stay so memorable. It’s hard to put into words the results of our trip, as all of it was amazing, from the lounge (Megan/Morgan/Vanessa were all fantastic and were extremely friendly. To the Mansion nightclub, where everyone was fantastic and provided amazing service, as we decided to get table service for the birthday celebration. If anyone is contemplating staying at the Paradox, do not think twice about booking, you will not regret it. Also, amazing walking distance to so many amazing shops and restaurants. All-in-all, we will be back to see all the amazing people we met and we look forward to our next trip to the Paradox Hotel.

This time at Ctrip.com, this hotel first encountered the problem of Ctrip's promotion of Chinese services and found that there was no Chinese service at all. After communicating with Ctrip, it helped to provide a temporary solution. I did not expect that there was another unpleasant episode during the check-out at the hotel. After the check-in, the front desk did not take the initiative to give me an accommodation bill. To be honest, I did n’t remember to ask, or another guest found that his bill was wrong. It was there that I remembered that I should also take a look at my bill. As a result, there was an error in printing, and I charged 44.47 more for parking. I felt wrong even though my English was not good. They immediately took back the bill and tore it off. They recalculated and printed it out, and then came back. They only returned me 35 yuan and asked why it was not returned in full. Then the front desk tore the bill back again. Then recalculate and print it out correctly. I was very unhappy with their inattentive service. The end result was that they wrote this small note to me, and apologized and explained it. To be honest, I apologize for their apology. I really regret it. I booked this hotel on Ctrip. Ctrip introduced that there is Chinese service. In fact, they did not provide any Chinese service at all. The latter mistake led me to this so-called five-star Wedgewood leisure hotel with ancient European tradition Wedgewood Hotel feels very bad, this is the only regret in my Canadian trip [naughty]

I stayed here for two nights recently for my trip to Vancouver. This was a last-minute booking and my first time here. I chose this hotel over the other I had previously stayed in just for the location. The location is a roughly 5-10min walk to Granville street Skytrain. The location also offers a lot of restaurants nearby and 7-11 and McDonald's which are 24hr if you are hungry in the middle of the night. When I arrived it was just at 11 am and they had my room ready and let me check in early which was nice. The room itself was really small but okay just for one person. The only things I didn't like were the pillows heart my neck being so big and the small shower with a rain head, very inconvenient when you don't want to get your hair wet.....right ladies!!! For sleep quality it was okay, my room faced the Staples right on Seymour it was quite a noisy street to be on so just beware. To note I had only booked for the night but ended up having to stay another the hotel offered me a better rate than what I had originally booked on Expedia for roughly $10 or something less and then also offered me a late check-out.

Ah, the Panda Pod Hotel! Marketed as the first capsule hotel in the Greater Vancouver Area (GVA), this relatively new establishment seeks to provide “modern and affordable” accommodation in the GVA. The Panda Pod, which opened in late April 2019, takes its influence from the pod hotels of Asia. When you check in, you’re given access to a total of three lockers for your personal belongings: A shoe locker, a locker for your backpack (if you have one), and a locker for your carry-on baggage. The gracious Panda Pod staff will also store one piece of standard-sized luggage free of charge, but anything beyond that will cost a very reasonable $5 for each additional item. My journey to the Panda Pod was kind of interesting. I was gearing up for some business meetings in Vancouver and, as usual, was a bit late on the draw in booking a hotel room. All of my typical haunts were fully booked, so I tried other hotels in the GVA, including those in Burnaby, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, Vancouver-proper and Richmond. Everything was totally booked – including the crappy Richmond Travelodge (see my earlier review on this site) – except for a couple of the Fairmont properties. And given that we were still in Vancouver’s “summer” season, the rates at the Fairmont hotels were nothing short of outlandish (between $800 to $1200 PER NIGHT). Then it dawned on me: “Hey! I remember reading something about a pod hotel opening . . .” So, I looked up the Panda Pod and noted, 1) There was availability for the night I needed; and, 2) The rate was practically unbeatable @ $65 + tax. Really, when it comes to value for money, this is where the Panda Pod shines: If you’re looking for a clean, friendly and safe place to stay, you can’t beat these prices . . . especially during “summer” season rates. [Of course, I subsequently found out why virtually every hotel was booked. It just so happened that during my meetings, the UBCM was holding their annual conference AND Elton John was visiting Vancouver as part of his world tour. I’m sure it was just a coincidence that the UBCM was meeting at this time ;) ] In any event, I guess what I’m saying is as long as you know what the Panda Pod Hotel is then you should be most satisfied with what you get: It’s not a hotel in the traditional sense; that is, you don’t get a private room, nor is there an on-site restaurant. Thanks to the unique pod structure you get what are essentially shared accommodations, split by gender (male and female). Each individual pod has a fairly comfortable mattress to sleep on; a foldable “desk” (and I use that term generously); hooks to hang items like a coat or hat; and a pull-down screen over the pod entrance for privacy. The hotel also features a shared lounge (with vending machine), washroom facilities and showers. In short, the Panda Pod isn’t fancy, but it’s cozy and functional. My husband and I stayed one night at the Burnaby location in order to attend a dinner function nearby. We checked into our room and the heater was already on and set at 68 and seemed to be working OK. Shortly after we arrived in the room, a maintenance person knocked on the door to see how the heater was working. That should have clued us in as to what would happen next. A bit later, the unit started to spit out cooler air. I might add that the unit never cycled off and on as it should. I turned the unit up to around 72 to see if that would make a difference but no it did not. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes, maintenance came to check. We were told that the heater had to remain at 68, no higher or it wouldn’t work. I have never heard of such a thing. High temperature in Vancouver was mid 40's dipping into the 30's at night. By this time, it was 5:30 and we had to head out the door for the dinner event at 6PM. I wish we would have demanded a different room, because when we returned it was definitely cooler in the room. We were both tired and needed to leave the hotel early in the morning so we decided to “gut it out”. I looked for additional blankets and there were none. I wound up sleeping a total of 2 hours in my coat. This was not a comfortable experience.  I am generously giving this property 2 stars as the room itself was clean and the bedding was comfortable. The front desk clerk kindly gave us a 50% discount for our discomfort which was the best she could do, but when I contacted their HQ was offered a 50% discount off a future stay. Don't think I will take them up on that offer, but thanks anyway.

The room is very comfortable, and the Chinese grandfather at the front desk named Sandy is very nice.
