Sleep All Over the World Grand Rapids Anway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton The Amway Hotel, a Hilton Collection in Grand Rapids, consists of two parts, old and new The old building part of the hotel, originally the Pantlind Hotel, opened in 1913 during the prosperous period of Grand Rapids, and was rated as one of the top ten hotels in the United States for many times in the first half of the twentieth century. The Pantlind Hotel is a Beaux-Art architectural style, which was a popular architectural style in France from the 1830s to the end of the 19th century. The hotel had the largest gilded ceiling in the world at that time, and a huge crystal chandelier and other luxurious decorations. In 1979, the Amway Group purchased the Pantlind Hotel, renovated it, and reopened on September 15, 1981. The Ford couple Ye, who lived in Grand Rapids, attended the opening ceremony. The 29-story glass building on the riverside side of the old hotel was completed in 1983, which is also part of the new building today Although Grand Rapids is a relatively silent city in the United States today, its past painting glory still radiates light

I personally think it is a very good hotel. Although it feels a bit old, all the environment inside is quite good. And very close to the airport, call UBER, about 10 minutes. And there are many shopping malls nearby. It is also very convenient to eat and eat. It is also very convenient to call a car to the city or nearby sightseeing spots.

We decided to stay at this hotel for several nights since it was where the wedding reception we were attending was located. My husband and I were very disappointed, as were many of the other guests who were staying here for the same reason. We sacrificed the convenience of the wedding venue for a very poor hotel experience. I would like to mention that this was not due to the staff, whom we had no issues with. As mentioned in several other reviews, the room layouts at this 'boutique' hotel were varied and unfortunately did not take into account the comfort of the guests. Our specific room offered minimal space in the bedroom area, with lots of space devoted to a long hallway as well as an open bathroom area. The bathroom area was not separated from the bed area by a door, and our specific room housed an unused soaking tub and a two glass-sided stall shower. The fastest access to the toilet from the bedroom area required walking through the shower. Also, for a guest who chose to shower earlier than a sleeping partner, the light and noise from the shower would be very intrusive. Fortunately, the toilet area had a door for privacy. Except for the bathroom area which had ceramic tile, the rest of the living space was covered with vinyl tiles that were unsuccessfully supposed to simulate cork. This vinyl provided a very institutional, cold, and unappealing look, similar to a college dorm room. Since so much space was unnecessarily devoted to the long hall and bathroom space, the bedroom area was very cramped. There was no place to sit except for on the bed, or in a very uncomfortable, cheap plastic non-adjustable desk chair near a narrow desk. There were no bedside tables, but next to only one side of the bed was a 'cube' without storage. It was covered with a burlap-like material which we thought was a questionable choice for a room with multiple occupants. The other side of the bed had no such 'table', so if a guest required perhaps a water glass or a CPAP machine on their side, it needed to be placed on the floor. Room temperature could only be adjusted by the front desk, not by the thermostat located in the room. We didn't realize this until after a cool first night's stay when we reported that we thought our room's thermostat was broken. We were informed that room temperature adjustment was only by the front staff. No information regarding this was posted in the room. Regarding housekeeping, a small note on the inside of our door stated that there would be no housekeeping service provided, unless upon request. The closet was in the long hallway. It consisted of a small cabinet with two small desk-sized drawers that were supposed to accommodate all our belongings. In addition, only four hangers were initially provided, but this was remedied when we requested more. There was no safe in the room, which is usually standard in most hotels these days. The hotel is made up of two buildings connected by a hallway in the lobby. A

My colleague and I arrived late in the evening after attending a work event. When I received my room key, the lock on my door did not work. I went to the front desk and the associate working, who had airpods in their ears, gave me attitude about how I probably didn't use the key correctly instead of solving the problem right away. They then were unable to find a new battery pack for the door so they moved me into a different room. When I checked out of the hotel, I was unaware that I needed to stop at the front desk to receive a receipt. Every other time I have stayed at a hotel, I receive an email with my receipt and don't have to retrieve it from the front desk. I called a few later to get a copy of my receipt sent to my email and the associate was very rude on the phone and said ”Well no wonder you didn't get a receipt since you didn't come and get one. That's on you.” I am not one to complain but the attitude I received from now two employees at this hotel made me angry. I will not stay at this hotel ever again for business as I do not deserve to be treated with disrespect when I have not done anything to deserve being treated that way in the first place.
