AJ Gran Alacant Reviews

Just returned from a very nice stay in AJ Gran Alacant. Hotel was beautiful and all our requirements were provided for when we arrived. Rooms are spacious and air conditioning. We had a slight issue with an unpleasant mark on the bathroom wall which was immediately dealt with by the house keeper. There was a constant perfumed scent in reception which was very overpowering and unfortunately meant we were unable to use the bar. There was also an automatic hoover that was never off in the duration of our stay and was inconvenient whilst trying to manoeuvre through in reception. Pool are was lovely and very clean. Staff were very pleasant. The hotel is on a main road with a bus stop on a hill which wasn’t great for an older person or someone with mobility issues. We tried booking a taxi to go to Alicante but none were available which is very disappointing. The receptionist tried a number of companies to no avail. She then advised us re the buses to both Santa Pola and Alicante but the information was not very good. We had a 20 min walk from the bus station to the Marina which we had to try to locate ourselves. We were fortunate to have meet a lovely girl at the station who gave us the information we required. There are a number of lovely restaurants close by the hotel, The London Tavern for breakfast was great and Get Fresh for amazing evening meal. There are supermarkets and shops close by the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for someone who would just like to relax by a pool and have a stroll. Location from airport is great about 10 mins. A relaxing break and great food.
