Going to the Royal Concert Hall so booked this hotel, from the outside lt looks pretty grotty, rubbish at entrance, a bit concerned. But on entry found the staff especially Antonia very helpful The room was basic but adequate with a view of the back lane, plenty of hot water and quiet. The breakie included in price was good, obviously not the Kimpton but you get what you pay for. As we had. Travelled by bus it was minutes. From the station, also minutes from the Concert Hall Next time we have a concert there we'll choose this HIE

From the moment we arrived in Glasgow the staff were extremely helpful and checked our bags early and helped us through the check in process so we would only need to provide a name when checking in at 3pm. Our room was ready on time and Caitlin at reception took our booking for breakfast and provided us with great information on different things we could do in Glasgow. We visited Pollochshaw Park and the Burrell collection o her recommendation and spent nearly 4 hours there petting the cows and walking around the fantastic woodlands. The breakfast was fantastic and the servers i the bar were friendly and professional. The room was clean and small touches such as air con in room on a hot week and the choice of firm or soft pillows really made our experience in Glasgow better than we ever imagined it could be.

We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in a beautiful setting attended to by the friendly and informative Argyro who could not have done enough for us. Our room was lovely with an amazing view of the city. The time at the pool was fun and the two gentlemen working there (sorry did not get their names to give them a mention) were very welcoming and helpful. Our room service food (again delicious!!) was brought to us by Alex (and again friendly and welcoming) The breakfast the next day was perfect. There is a vast selection of breakfast options and something to suit everyone’s dietary requirements. We were welcomed to the lounge by Kiamha who was super friendly and accommodating. We cannot fault this stay. The staff do an excellent job and make everyone feel at home and we are already planning our next stay there. Bravo, Hilton Glasgow, and please keep up the good work 👍

GGuest User 2022.09.11
Our recent stay at Moxy Glasgow SEC was comfortable, quiet and enjoyable. The availability of heavily subsidised parking next to the hotel (which must be validated by asking at reception) was an added bonus - only £8/day! The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, with friendly staff at reception. Accessed with a key-card, our room, although compact and overlooking the aforementioned car park, was modern, clean and provided good amenities. The view from the room didn't detract from our stay, as with the curtains drawn and window closed, any car park light/noise could be avoided - this was necessary the nights events were on at the SEC. Our room was a 'moxy twin sleeper' (two single beds) - though the beds were really close together. Additionally, there wasn't really any storage space, and the use of paper cups instead of the use of mugs could have elevated the room. Despite this, the room was well-decorated and met our needs during a four-night stay. Overall, the Moxy Glasgow SEC was well-priced, and the modern, clean rooms helped us to have a pleasant and comfortable stay!

Due to a flight diversion, I unexpectedly arrived in Glasgow at 1am. Quickly, it became clear that the large convention in the city meant that hotel availability was going to be a real problem. After several failed attempts to find a room, I arrived at the Courtyard and Javier from the from the front desk kindly let me in (door was shut as it was 2am by now) and found me a very comfortable room. He was very understanding of the travel challenges I was experiencing and checked me in quickly and efficiently and gave me a complimentary bottle of water. The room was modern and bed extremely comfortable. There were a lot of well positioned plug and USB sockets. Great shower and amenities. This is a great hotel and Javier is a credit to the Marriott brand.

GGuest User 2022.10.02
Having stayed here a few times before due to its location and reasonable price, I was left disappointed this time. I had booked this hotel because for some reason every hotel in Glasgow that weekend was unusually expensive. Hotels I would have expected to pay >£100 were £150/180. The jury’s was £111. A warm welcome from reception staff and the main lobby is modern and clean. The room we were allocated (618) was a bit dated. It was spacious because it was an accessible room, not at our request so maybe why it was cheaper than others. The above two points didn’t really bother us because it was just somewhere to sleep as we were attending a gig. Unfortunately we did not sleep very well. The windows didn’t do enough to soundproof the outside street noise, the walls were paper thin and you could hear the neighbours talking, plugging and unplugging electrical items- all minor quiet stuff which you shouldn’t really be able to here. Our room had a buzzing noise coming from the vent in the room which kept us awake til 7.30am… and then the neighbours started getting ready to check out. We never complained during the night because we were so tired after being out all night and the noise was intermittent so just when you thought you were back to sleep, it started again. The room was clean but as I said dated, and for this reason I don’t think I’d chose to stay here again.

Thank you to the staff, as a solo traveller I was quite nervous but I felt so safe. Check in was smooth and friendly. The hotel is clean, stylish and smart. You need your room key to use the lifts so I felt so safe going to my room. I stayed in a double room and it was so spacious! Everything was tidy and well placed. Even though there was a fun fair on the next street it didn’t really bother me when I shut the window. It was my first time staying in an apart-hotel and I would definitely recommend! I didn’t know that having ice in the freezer and cutlery would make me so happy haha. I could chill my water and have a lovely meal in my room without having to fork out for a more expensive takeaway. I used the Tesco express down the street to get myself fresh food. The bathroom had a lovely heated towel Rail too so I had the warmest, fluffiest towel! Down in the lobby they have a Brita water filter, board games, extra kitchen equipment and food and drink. Will certainly return if I ever visit Glasgow again!

This is my first comment on a hotel. Normally we don't like to do this but this time I really want to share my experience with you. On Friday, I lost my passport during the travelling. I recalled all the possible sites that I may lost it and think it is most possible still left in this hotel. So I get back to the hotel and tell my difficulties in the reception. The duty manager and secure manager listened to my story carefully(don't miss any details) and they really helped my check the camera on the floors, re-checked the room I stayed and even went through the mattress for me. I am really a lucky guy that they did find the passport with their effort. I really appreciate the real help they made for me🙏. If you want to enjoy the most thoughtful service, please come to this hotel!

We booked this as we knew our flight home to Glasgow Airport was landing late and we could not face the long drive home at such a time. By the time we cleared with our bags and walked to the hotel from the terminal it was 2am when we checked in. Unfortunately we were given room 115, which was opposite the elevators on the first floor. It was also not only an accessible room with wet bathroom (no shower unless you wanted to flood the whole room) but also had a ”connecting” door to the next room. No idea who was on the either side, but not ideal for either of us given our late arrival. I was feeling extremely tired and and went straight to my bed - unfortunately it was far too soft and it was a double, so we tended to fall into the middle where the ”hole” or ”dip” in the mattress was. With us both trying to sleep on the outside of the mattress for comfort we continually pulled the small duvet from each other in an attempt to keep warm after our return from Africa. The pillows were also too soft for my liking, however that was minor compared to the mattress. There hours later, at around 5am the corridor started coming alive with excited children heading off on their holidays, running and squealing, literally!! I can't blame them for being enthusiastic, but perhaps their parents might have understood that some guests might still wish to sleep at that time? Thus our morning continued so when we finally dragged ourselves up for breakfast around 9am I was extremely tired and somewhat grumpy... Now to breakfast; a fairly good selection was on offer if you came at a quiet time. I saw some guests leave towards the end our meal time as they did not want to wait in the queue for what was left. My main gripe about the breakfast was again, not the hotel's fault, but the guests, who presumably are not used to staying in hotels and don't know what swerving utensils are for. I saw one female guest pick up and touch several slices of bread and returning them before picking what she put in the toaster machine. I purposely picked a slice she hadn't pawed and waited whilst it went through the machine, then just as it arrived a young man (her son I believe) whisked it away in front of me. Manners non existent. The breakfast staff were helpful and friendly and the food on offer was perfectly adequate if all the guests knew how to behave. All in all, we picked this hotel for a catch up sleep after a late flight in and we didn't achieve that so we will not be back.

GGuest UserI've stayed here a couple of times. On the edge of Glasgow centre but an easy 10 minute walk. Really nice touches of design in the communal areas and in the bedrooms. I got upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner in the same restaurant. Only negative was that the dinner service was sometimes a little slow.

GGuest UserGreat location. Stayed here before. Staff are friendly but it's really let down in other areas. Our room was filthy. Bed was fresh but the desk was sticky, carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered in weeks and when I went to plug in my phone beside the bed there was the remains of someone's peperami snack lying on the floor. Bathroom had a brown poo mark on the loo seat (which we cleaned!) And the loo floor was covered in long black hairs. I am platinum blonde and my friend has long dyed red hair... We told reception who offered to comp us breakfast but we had already paid for it so they just took the feedback. We asked for an iron and ironing board, and they were really pitiful appliances. They could do with an upgrade for sure. Oh and during breakfast the coffee machine was fully broken and was being taken apart...

I stayed in room 10 which is a single room for 4 nights. It is located at the back of the establishment by the kitchen and kitchen air vent. There was a continuous strong smell of cooking and stale cooking oil throughout the room and bathroom. You could also hear the noise of the industrial kitchen air vent throughout the day and into the evening, which was loud as by the window. No adequate ventilation in the main room or bathroom. Window in main room did not open. Bathroom window only opened if you put something to wedge it open. As the bathroom is directly at the back by the air vent opening the window meant letting in the cooking smells. The cooking smells stays in your clothing and hair, luggage. It was nauseating. Despite leaving the bathroom window open a few hours in the early morning, this did nothing to rid the room of the stale cooking odours. I complained and was offered a full refund of the cost of the room. Unfortunately I could not find anywhere else to stay. Agreed compensation was free breakfasts during duration of my stay. Seems like the done deal in this establishment. In the bathroom there was not a adequate blind at the window for privacy. This meant that the kitchen staff outback could easily see into the bathroom. I often heard them out back laughing and talking outside. There is no adequate lock on the bathroom window. It would be possible for someone to climb up the slope and into the room through the bathroom window. They played very loud music from the pub downstairs. Unfortunately room 10 is situated above this. It made it impossible to have a relaxing evening with this loud music going on into the evening. Housekeeping on the first day was not good. Only the wet towels were removed, new ones replaced. The full rubbish bin stayed unemptied in the room. The housekeeper even failed to remove an empty toilet roll. Housekeeping after that day was excellent and one could see the physical effects of the room having been cleaned. They have employed lots of younger staff. Who were mostly polite and friendly, a couple needed more training in customer service and communication. The food was tasty and well presented. Though as I could smell the rancid cooking oil smells in the room this put me off as to the actual cleanliness of the kitchen. The room/bathroom was newly renovated. The shower was excellent good water pressure and temperature. There was no adequate bins. Only a small bathroom bin in the main room. Nowhere to hang up your toiletries or to dry your towels in the bathroom. Unsure of the effect of one's health stayed in such an unventilated environment. Breathing in the stale kitchen smells. It was quite frankly nauseating. Perhaps health and safety should be informed about this and assess. I do not plan to stay here again and would not recommend booking a single room if you are a solo traveller. Overall I would not recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel is a quiet area, not far from the city center, and it is convenient to go to the pedestrian street. GGuest UserI had booked the last available room here after buying Ed Sheeran tickets for myself and 7yo daughter. I was delighted at being able to secure accommodation such a short distance away - only a 10min walk! For my purpose the room was fine, although I did find the bed pretty hard but a mattress is like Marmite- some people will love it, others will hate it. I’ll admit, to my mind and based on my room alone (I can’t speak for other rooms) this wouldn’t be my choice for a long term stay but for an overnight visit it was fine. Dimitri on the front desk is worth a special mention as he is extremely welcoming, polite and cheery. I had been a bit of an eejit and hadn’t read all the booking instructions but Dimitri was very understanding, took pity on me and gave me a little leeway. So again, another big thank you to him.
