We have just spent four weeks at the Splendid and have to say this is the best value for money we've ever had in years of travelling. The beds are comfortable, rooms are pleasant, staff are kind and helpful, the pool is enormous and the gym has everything you could ask for. The food in the restaurant is good, the breakfast buffet is included and it's enormous: everything from croissants and porridge to mushroom soup and beef stew! There is also a bar open day and evening at the pool and all in all everything is so pleasant. It doesn't purport to be a 5 star hotel but certainly punches above its weight. A great find.
