Our stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences ever. It already started upon arrival: at 7:45 PM the reception was not only no longer staffed, the entire hotel appeared to be closed. To obtain our room key we had to call (at our own expense!) a manager from the hotel chain elsewhere. The telephone line was terribly bad: everything had to be repeated 5 or 6 times. Once in the room, there appeared to be no air conditioning. Unacceptable in the 21st century. There were 2 welcome waters (for 4 people), but they were not cooled and therefore not drinkable at the temperatures at that time. Opening the window was not an option because the window had nothing to keep insects out. The room was also located on a busy road. The bathroom was absolutely not okay. Traces of limescale everywhere and the sanitary facilities are clearly outdated. The sink was yellowed. Then why not relax in the sauna? As you can see in the photos, the bicycles and trash cans are placed in the sauna room!! As if it wasn't bad enough, the sauna wasn't working. Then head to the restaurant? Unfortunately, it was closed upon arrival at 7:45 PM and that in high season!! So go to sleep. Unfortunately, you can feel the springs of the bed through the mattress. And as if all this wasn't enough, the safety signals gave a continuous high-pitched beeping sound every hour for 1 minute, even during the night, which prevented any sleep in the house. Perhaps the batteries needed to be changed, but due to a lack of staff we were unable to report this. When leaving the hotel we wanted to complain, unfortunately there was no one at the reception then... And so, apart from someone who replenished sandwiches, we saw no one from the staff during the entire stay... This hotel has urgent need for personnel, vision, customer focus and investments. Or a visit from the inspectorate.
