I am 100% okay with the hotel. However the lady that’s attending the transportation counter is a liar. I requested an innova to fit my family and our luggages. She said yes, took our payment and came with an aruz. Which we can book by grab at a fraction of the price. Currently in the car w her and fuming w anger. My parents had to take a separate cab. If we knew we would’ve just booked 2 grabs! She is charging rm 85 for an aruz when in grab its just rm 40. So please do not use her services! What a liar. Say got Innova but come w an Aruz. Ridiculous

My elderly parents stayed at The Gurney during their medical checkup in Penang and accidentally left behind some documents. We emailed the hotel and left a message through booking.com to no avail. Then through a phone call, we got connected to Danesh at the Concierge Department, who then went the extra mile to coordinate among various departments within the hotel, and mailed the document through express courier service. His attentive service is highly appreciated.

Stayed here one night in family suites with 2 rooms with my 2 kids, the hotel is not far from Komtar penang. Parking is not an issue even for our MPV, their rotating car park with escalator can move the car into empty slot. Check-in is fast and we stayed at level 19th with nice city and some ocean view. Room is very big with a living room, master room with big washroom and changing cabinet, and another connecting room. Wifi is fast and there are 19 tv channels to choose from. Next morning we went for their gym at level 22, not very big but good enough with 5-6 workout machines. Breakfast is at level 21 buffet styles, choice is just nice, not many but food is ok with reasonable price, only RM21 per pax.

Room was clean and modern but was not given a city view room as advertised because there's only one room in the hotel with has it and based on who checks in first. Feel a bit cheated because that was part of the reason for paying extra for the room. Bar and restaurant in the hotel was also very cool, highly worth going if you are staying in the hotel. Parking is a bit of a hassle as it's not only reserved for hotel guests so if you arrive late you're SOL.

A delightful hotel. The Concept, location cleanliness and service team are all super friendly and efficient. Value for money. Brand new hotel. The whole ambience is very hip ,colourful, relaxing n casual. Very young management team and everyone there makes u feel like a friend. Rooms are compact n cosy. Super clean indeed. The bed was sooo comfortable. Bathroom had a wonderful n powerful rain shower. This hotel exceeded all my expectations. It has a positive exuberance, its vibrant, colourful and a unique concept of positive interactions. A good alacarte breakfast. This brand will definitely make its mark very quickly. Kudos to management for bringing this concept from idea to execution in such an art deco way. M truly impressed. Truly enjoyed my stay n will come back. It has the ‘buzzz’ n champions there

Poor checkout experience - when I checked out the room, I have left one of the keys in the room. Then the staff at the reception told me to “Go get your key”. I was carrying a lot of luggage and forgot to get the key when I checked out because I was always using one key. I understood he might have a long day, but I would also appreciate more politeness from the staff but not such a cold and rude attitude…overall, the service at this place is so so. The staff at the hotel are not so welcoming.
The hotel surrounding area is also very noisy.
The restaurants nearby often play live music until midnight 12 AM. There are prayers from the mosque every morning at 6 AM for around 5 minutes. So if you are sensitive to sound and have insomnia problems, I won’t recommend this hotel.
For the room, I booked a room with twins beds. But the room is so small that they basically put the two beds together without any space in between. In short, if you have more luggage, the room maybe too small for two people.
Having said that this hotel is in a good location, and close to the city centre and near all the key shopping areas and restaurants. Price is also reasonable.

We stayed with the Ascott group numerous times for its cleanliness and well-maintained facilities around the world, and Citadines Connect Georgetown is no exception. The building is renovated from a historical building which gives the hotel a mixture of cultural and contemporary vibe. It's a 3-story newly-built hotel and everything you see is brand new and tidy. The lobby is not large, but there are plentiful spaces to rest for a while. The room we stayed in is Studio Executive, and it's clean enough. The air-conditioning system utilized a touch panel for you to easily adjust to your liking. There are no drinking bottles inside the room but a water dispenser is just in the hallway, both environment-friendly and convenient. One of the things worthy of notice is the tap water system, where hot and cold water may be installed conversely. The hotel itself is located around minutes walk from Komtar neighborhood, and you can easily take buses to the airport or to other areas of Penang via the Komtar terminal. Several malls are also in this area to give you the convenience of shopping. The well-known hawker food centre at Lebuh Presgrave crossroad is also close by, where you can easily grab most of the famous and delicious local dishes here. CAT bus station is also not far from the hotel, and you can tour the UNESCO sites with it for a day trip. Overall, it's an excellent choice to stay here for its brand-new facilities, and its convenience regarding transportation, shopping, and dining.

A stylish and classy hotel, strategically located near Little India, art area, food museum, all are a few minutes away. The jetty is about a 15 minute walk. However as a solo female traveller, all the adjacent streets are dark and quiet so didn’t feel comfortable walking around after 21:00. Room was cosy and nicely designed, bed was comfortable, and the free mini bar and sweets left in the jar daily was a lovely touch. Breakfast was ok, but the in-room food service was excellent and meals were fantastic. The room also has a water filter, saves buying bottled water. All staff were pleasant and helpful. The views from the rooftop pool are great, albeit the pool is on the smaller size. Enjoyed my three nights and would recommend the hotel.

AAngelynnWe had a relaxing and memorable stay at E&O. Our room offers a sea view which is great and feel peaceful. Although the hotel is a bit old, it’s generally well maintained. Staff are always smiling and willing to help. They provide new towels and bottled water every day. Staff service at the breakfast buffet are excellent. Sunset was beautiful.

I also like the washing machine and dryer provided in the big bathroom.
Only suggestion is should put 1 bottle of mineral in room in case Traveller cant find the water dispenser right after the lift.

JJustincchongSt Giles Wembly is a great hotel to stay in. I stayed for 3 nights and it felt like home. Sheets and bed were soft and comfortable, floor and furnishing were kept clean after housekeeping cleaned, and the lifts come really quickly.
I also loved how the front desk and the staffs were always very welcoming and warm, making every interaction like speaking to a friend. While the hotel looked old, furnishings are very well maintained. For instance, the ventilation in the toilet was so good that the floor dries after a few hours.
My only gripe is that while the water pressure is strong, the hot water doesn't come immediately, instead it takes a good 5 mins of running water before I get some form of warm / lukewarm water. The waiting time does get longer after midnight, where the water is just ice cold. Weirdly, the bath tub water gets warm faster than the shower? Which was kind of weird.
I also had the opportunity to try the breakfast buffet. While I saw plenty of reviews commending that the breakfast is good, I believe it was sufficient for a local taste, and provided enough quantity. However, the buffet setup was quite cramp and unevenly spaced.
The hotel also hosts a bar on the roof, which had a nice view of the city. I ordered a Guinness Stout and got the server to pour for me. I ended up getting a flat stout 🫠🫠🫠.
Nevertheless, my stay at St Giles has been great, and I would love to return in the near future.

AAnonymous UserThe location of the hotel is remarkable, very good, convenient to go everywhere. Downstairs is next to a breakfast shop, the roast meat and white chicken are absolutely delicious, especially delicious.
The hotel is very clean, and the accommodation is satisfactory. It is a good choice to only sleep and mainly go out for fun. The only dissatisfied waitress who came down to open the door for us was thin and wearing a nose stud, very arrogant and impolite. The slightly fatter waitress responsible for checkin is very good, and the male waiter who cleans the room is also very good.

GGuest UserI have stayed in many hotels and even I'm also a hotelier. Requested for early check in at least 15 minutes earlier but the reception strictly allowed to check in after 3pm only. There must be some give and take with guest, then only we can thoroughly enjoy the hotel and service. If the room is ready, please allow the guest to check in abit early. It's not compulsory but it will help to make the guest happy with customer service.
