Hotel Montana Reviews

I went a day earlier to confirm my stay with the hotel. They couldn't find my booking. I showed them my confirmation on my phone. I was told that they can see my confirmation number but no payment was made by trip.com. They assured me that such has happened before and told me to be on the safe guard book another room as a standby. They assured me that they will not swipe my card until matter is resolved. That assurance made me check in. I kept coming to the front office every now and then and I was told it was resolved. Only on the last night I was told that by Trip.com of the error in the address. In the meantime the hotel had swiped my card. Surprisingly they did not honour the feedbacks I gave to Hotel Montana Geneve and Hotel Montana Zurich. There was no email to apologise for the oversight and delay in handling. I went to the hotel one day earlier to check, they could have attended to it and not confidently putting the blame on trip.com since there has been previous incidents where [ayment was not received. I thought Hotel Montana group could have handled this matter better. Quite disappointing.

It is very convenient to stay in Geneva for one day and choose accommodation near the station. The room is large, but there is no view from the balcony, not even the street view, and the price/performance ratio is not high

Visited Geneva for a long w/end & chose to stay here. Location is close to local transport (hotel sent us free travel passes) & the train station. Hotel was cosy & comfortable with a lift to all floors, with a helpful & friendly reception team. Can’t comment on the buffet breakfast, as we didn’t try it. We just chose to eat out & sample the local delights. Lake Geneva at the bottom of the road & plenty of retain therapy en route if you have deep pockets.

Great location but that’s the only positive. Hotel room advertised as superior was anything but. Very small room with limited coffee facilities 2 pods of coffee and three sugars ! Bedroom ceiling had a grubby stain on it and generally looked tired. The balcony was pleasant and overlooked a busy car park. The receptionists were miserable and unwelcoming. Would not return

A beautiful hotel that is conveniently located with a welcoming staff. Breakfast was wonderful, as were cocktails in the Louis Bar. We will definitely stay again if we find ourselves in Lucerne in the future.

Needed a hotel near the station. Was stuffy, smelt of damp, had no Air con and with the window open was extremely noisy. Perhaps it’s cheap by Geneva standards, but at over £200 for one night I would have expected a decent sleep.

Comfortable stay in a hotel ideally suited a few mins walk to the railway station. Only gripes and they are minor, air conditioning unit had a pipe to connect to outside to pump out hit sir was held by the open window and it fell out when we were out so room was like a sauna when we came back. Second, there was no option for a takeaway breakfast as we had to catch an early train in the morning.

The front desk people were very helpfully.The room had only Switzerland type of power receptacles where you cannot use international power adaptor. The front desk person was very kind to lend me a power adaptor. It was difficult to sleep due to the summer heat having only a mobile fan and not air conditioning system.

We stayed 2 nights after 9 days of hiking. Hotel location is very convenient, close to everywhere, the train station, shops, with ton of restaurants within 5 minutes of walk. There was a heat wave going on during our two nights stay (temperature was 92 and 95 during the day), there is no air condition, only a small desk fan. We were both soaking wet in the morning, we tried to keep the window open but the noise is unbearable. One of the reason I chose this hotel was because it has 'laundry facility', I thought they have self service washer and dryer turned out they don't.

This was an overall great stay! The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to most of the city’s attractions. The rooms was plenty spacious and comfortable. The only downside was the lack of AC. This usually isn’t too much of a problem, but during our stay there was a heat advisory, so the room was inevitably hot. The elevator is also tiny, which slightly hindered the stay, but for the price, it was an above average stay in Switzerland in my opinion.
