Good,not perfect

It really is very good, the employees are friendly, the food is very good, very quiet and EVERYTHING is good. We can't wait to go back.

I rented it for one night. the room on the 1st floor had a hammock, very nice. All inclusive was provided nicely.

Good location. Quiet spacious rooms with ocean views. Basic food selection but compensated by the selection of drinks. Transfer to the center of Funchal. Many free sunbeds near the pool. Possibility to use the sauna and steam room. Attentive staff

The hotel is a little dated but that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. We had a couple of issues and they were resolved quickly & professionally. Micaela Nunes on reception was SO lovely and reassuring & her customer service is a asset to the Pestana group. The food was on the whole good ( we were all inclusive) the dessert sections was much the same every day & needs to be improved. The walk to Camera de Logos fishing village take about 50mins & is well worth the walk. It was extremely hot for our visit - we walked to Fuchanal but found it too much in the heat. Taxi's are about 10 - 15 euros to get to the centre.

As described in other reviews, this hotel was right on the beach. Pools are lovely and you can always get a sunbed. Rooms are dated but very clean. Staff are friendly. Not much going on with entertainment. Food is healthy and fresh. Lovely overall.

My arrival at the hotel was smooth, with a quick and efficient check-in process. The room was ready upon arrival, though it was somewhat dated. While it was well-maintained, the absence of air conditioning made the room quite warm on hot days. The ceiling fan helped, but it wasn't sufficient. The fridge worked well after I consulted the reception on how to operate it.The hotel is conveniently located on the beach, though it's a pebbly shoreline. The transfer from the airport took about 20-25 minutes, depending on the number of stops.I noticed the QR code contains excessive and unnecessary information; a simplified version would be more user-friendly.The main drawback was the all-inclusive food. The variety was limited, with little distinction between themed nights, if they were offered at all. The drinks were quite strong, but staff were accommodating when I requested less alcohol in mine. A positive aspect was the availability of picnic lunches for days out, which was very convenient.The hotel has great potential, especially if renovated and with improved food offerings. The staff were always polite and helpful. However, the entertainment team did not engage with me, seeming to focus primarily on German and French guests, so I can't comment on their activities.Overall, I would consider staying here again if the price remains competitive.

We returned to Madeira for a 10 day holiday and decided to try a slightly cheaper hotel than previous. We were not disappointed. The hotel may feel dated in some areas but the staff and location made up for this. We stayed in a premium room on floor seven. It was a bit dated in decor but the bonus was its size and a nice balcony overlooking the ocean ( we watched dolphins in the morning just off-shore). The room was spotless and cleaned everyday by the friendly staff no matter what time we seemed to get up. The food was very good throughout the day and night with plenty to chose from but it is more of a continentral flavour ie: no chicken nuggets and chips. We loved it. Dining and night time drinks sat outside was lovely and with most of the guests being French it made for a lovely background burble. It might be worth while learning the dance Le Madison as they all got up everynight to do it, great entertainment. The bar staff were very friendly with very large measure but the cocktails didnt quite hit the mark. Self service beer pumps helped me get my steps in everyday as I was a frequent visitor. As a note the bar shuts at 11pm and the hotel does go very quiet apart from the melodic noise of the waves. The pool area was lovely and kept very clean, we could always find sunbeds for the five of us and the enteratinment staff were great. You can have a nice walk along the coast into Funchal if feeling energetic or just grab a taxi or the free shuttle bus from the hotel. Funchal is a great place to wander around with a variety of restaurants and bars. Altogther a thumbs up from all of us and we would visit again.

Very nice hotel, staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with a hammock and view looking out onto the pool. When we first arrived the door to our balcony was a bit stiff and we couldn’t get it open, however we went and spoke to the receptionist lady, who was kind enough to come to our room to fix it straight away. There was a great selection of food each day, and overall it was very tasty. The location is very beautiful, the hotel overlooks the sea and the beach is only a five minute walk away. It is however a bit out of the way from the town, so consider catching a bus or getting a taxi. All in all, we had a lovely time at this hotel and would definitely stay again.

There are a lot of positives and negatives about this hotel Firstly the reception staff are truly amazing, I was a late check in, so they got me sandwiches and fruit and helped me with my luggage Helped me with getting the bus into Funchal and I even booked a couple of trips My room was clean and yes it does need updating, no a/c just an overhead fan, bed was really hard and it was a plastic mattress so got very hot, pillows need replacing, my fridge didn’t work Food was okay not brilliant but still edible Entertainment was fine There are no local shops nearby but there are a few restaurants nearby Location and views from the balcony truly amazing Would I go back, definitely yes

Not big on reviews but felt this should be said. We stayed at this hotel for 14 nights this June. Although there were many reviews regarding its dated appearance. We found it a lovely and charming place. We would recommend this place to anyone. Positives: -Staff were generally friendly and helpful. They sent us a cheeseboard whilst we were there, and a few nights before we left, sent us a small bottle of Madeiran wine to say thank you. -Food was good, lots of fresh fruit and variety. They made a point of asking for allergies etc. -It was nice to be able to have dinner outside on the terrace looking over the sea. -Previous reviews had complained about pigeons being a pest but almost every meal there was a hawk handler and the pigeons quickly disappeared. -Funchal was an easy walk from the hotel but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. -The gardens were beautifully maintained. Pool was nice. No fighting over sun loungers. Winner. -Staff appeared to care about the place. -Despite its "dated" appearance thos hotel has amazing views from the rooms and is a stones throw away from the beach (albeit stone beach) which is lovely. It's also a shirt walk from the rock pools and a sandy beach. There are no negatives as such, probably more things that would have been nicer or could be changed. -Food was good but one occasion burgers were still raw and cold inside. But this was a one off. The food was very good overall. Especially Madeira themed night. - Unless we read reviews, we wouldn't have known there is a restaurant meal at a sister hotel included. It would be nice to be told on check in. -There is a QR code that you can scan that takes you to a Google drive but it's not particularly user friendly. -It would be nice if there was a designated smoking area especially during meal times. But that's one of those things. This is a great location, with great staff and we'd decided we would happily go back here instead of bigger, more modern and busier hotels. Love this place and loved Madeira.

The most amazing, hard working, courteous, friendly staff that I have ever experienced in a hotel. Yes this hotel is a bit dated but spotlessly clean, good size pool and great outside seating for drinks and meals looking over the sea. Location was perfect for us, away from the city, the sounds of waves but only 20mins to get into the centre of Funchal by bus (either courtesy bus or no. 2- stops the other side of tunnel). Great value for money, loved being able to take a bottle of wine to our table at dinner. 10 days of relaxation spending time by the pool and seeing the sights. No real gym but if the waves calm you can venture into the sea. Great for sunsets
