This place is absolutely stunning. Quiet, and the hosts are amazingly friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and inviting. The rooms are cozy and I had the best sleep during my trip here. Breakfast is flexible and the host will work around your schedule as needed, great spread of French breakfast items. Despite the cold temps the rooms are warm and inviting. Nearby to many war memorials so it is a quick drive to museums and other sites. Highly recommended.

We stayed here on our second night in France touring Normandy battlefields, the place was absolutely brilliant, beautiful setting, great rooms and such a friendly warm welcome. The following day we had a magnificent breakfast with our host giving us some detail of the German occupation in WW2. There was no rush for us to leave in the morning either, our host could not of been more gracious or helpful, we will return to this lovely chateau soon I hope.

I stayed five days in one of the cottages at Chateau Flottemanville. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and gracious. Their property is large, beautiful, and serene. I loved walking around with coffee in the morning, listening to the birds sing and admiring their horses, then sitting on a cafe chair sipping calvados in the evening. The location has two grocery stores within a 5 min drive and easy access to key D-Day battlefield sites from Utah Beach to the airborne drops. You're also a short drive to Cherbourg, too. And the drive to Mont St Michel is feasible. I cannot wait to go back.

This is a splendid Normandy chateau, very photogenic. For English travellers, it is only a short drive from the Cherbourg ferry (currently arriving midday). Normally, there is a very good local restauraunt, which currently is closed for refurb. after takeover. We booked in Valognes (Googled) and because we were in a vintage car, a bit unsure about directions, Madame ( owner) very kindly led us by car to our restaurant - local knowledge beating (nonexistent) satnav! The owners are very charming. We stayed (early reservation) in the very splendid bedroom in the main chateau building, which was a treat. (most rooms are in ajoining buidings, possibly more modern but looked fine) The breakfast was good, typical French fare. ( Obviously, there are no evening or bar catering facilities). Recommended.

I didn’t get to stay here - my fault. I inadvertently booked the room a month out from when I needed to stay. We showed up after dark and was met at the parking lot. They had not yet opened for the season! I was invited inside the owner’s home while they graciously looked up and found a hotel in nearby Valognes for us. Such a beautiful property and such wonderfully nice people. If I am able to return to this part of France again, I will stay here!
