Best Five Star Hotels in Dunhuang

I was very fortunate to stay at Sunshine Shazhou Hotel. It was the most satisfying stay during my trip. I originally booked another hotel. When I passed by Sunshine Shazhou Hotel, the hotel building area was quite spectacular in the urban area. I personally felt that it was the largest hotel and the architectural style had a unique style of the Western Regions. As soon as I entered the hotel parking lot, I could feel the enthusiasm and friendliness of the staff. Xiao Qiao, the front desk of the hotel, introduced the details of the hotel very professionally and took us to see the room. Xiao Qiao's professional service was recognized by my husband and wife. We simply refunded the original hotel and chose Sunshine Shazhou Hotel. When we checked in, the hotel front desk also upgraded our room. Xiao Qiao personally helped us deliver our luggage to the room. The relevant information of tourist attractions and food streets and precautions during the trip were introduced in detail! During the check-in process, they will appear as soon as we need help. The just-right service made us feel what it means to be at home! Because of Xiao Qiao's impeccable service, our trip to Dunhuang has added a touch of color. Overall, Sunshine Shazhou Hotel is indeed a good choice. At the same price, this is definitely your best choice for a trip to Dunhuang. Here is a little suggestion: The hotel can make some special power cards, otherwise the power card and room card will be confused and it will be very troublesome to take the wrong card at breakfast!

When we arrived at 930pm there was loud construction next door and didn't stop till after 1230am both on the first night and 3rd night. Very loud and difficult to sleep. Room was ok but bed was very hard like sleeping on wood. Breakfast was Chinese breakfast and just mediocre. Hotel advertised a gym , spa and sauna. Gym was 2 small machines stuck in the corner of the 2nd floor out in the open. I could not find the spa or sauna so I asked the front desk and was told ”no have”. I discovered later the next night the spa is outside of the hotel and not affiliated with the hotel. Won't stay here again

The unexpected check-in experience started from the pick-up at the station. The hotel's pick-up service was very considerate, and the driver was professional and enthusiastic. The hotel check-in was also very professional. Entering the room, there is a foot bath bucket placed, and the hotel also has a bathtub. The overall decoration of the room is relatively old, and the hotel is relatively large, with about 100 single-story rooms. There is still a distance from the room to the elevator. The service staff are very enthusiastic and will help answer questions and deliver meals to the room

The environment is beautiful and the service is very considerate! One night my wife was sick and they sent me ginger tea. The breakfast was simple but tasted very good. The only thing that needs to be improved is the dishes for lunch and dinner. However, since the hotel is not far from the city, there is no disadvantage!

It is a wise choice to stay at Tianhe Hotel when you come to Dunhuang! It is close to the city center, quiet in the bustling city, and a flying statue stands in the middle of the magnificent lobby. The room is also large and clean, and a foot bath bag is provided every day. The buffet breakfast starts at 7:30, which is very rich, with vegetables, fruits and special noodles. The price is really beautiful when you come to stay in the off-season, and the service is super considerate. Thank you very much to Tian Xiaozhuan, the waiter in charge of our floor. He was afraid that we were not used to the dry climate here, so he gave us many bottles of mineral water every day, and asked if it was enough. He replenished anything that was missing quickly and enthusiastically. The hotel yard is super large, and it is also convenient to park by car. It is also great to watch the stars in the yard at night.

The second time I stayed in this hotel, the service was still excellent. When I first checked in a few years ago, the return flight the next day was very early. I asked about the breakfast time and was a little disappointed to learn that I could not catch up with the meal. Unexpectedly, after the girl at the front desk learned about the situation, she offered to pack breakfast for us the next morning, which was very heartwarming at the time. The next morning, the staff not only packed the breakfast in advance, but also sent it to the door of the room attentively. Such meticulous service completely exceeded my expectations. So the second time I came to Dunhuang, I decided to book this without hesitation, but unfortunately the room was full during the peak season and I couldn't book it. When I set foot on the land of Dunhuang again in 2025, this is still my first choice. I arrived at the hotel at 10 o'clock in the morning. I wanted to store my luggage first, but I didn't expect the front desk to help me check in early. The surprise came again, and it exceeded my expectations again. The hotel's breakfast is rich and varied. I like beef noodles and mutton soup the most. It's really great. The restaurant also launched a one-person set meal on **, which perfectly solves the trouble of wanting rich dishes but fearing waste when dining alone. It's really thoughtful. However, the hotel is large in scale. It is about 2 kilometers from the gate to the front desk of Building 2. It is very convenient to drive by yourself, but it is not very convenient to call a taxi. Taxi drivers are often unwilling to accept orders from Mogao Grottoes or the railway station because the distance is too close. But this is not a problem. The hotel is very close to the Mogao Grottoes Visitor Center. You can take the hotel's battery car to the gate and walk for about 10 minutes to arrive. The performances of ”Seeing Dunhuang Again” and ”Music Dunhuang” that must be seen in Dunhuang are also next to the Mogao Grottoes Visitor Center, so it is very convenient. After watching the show, walk to the hotel gate. The doorman will enthusiastically help call a free battery car, which easily solves the little troubles of traveling. I have to say that the service training of the hotel staff is quite in place. Every employee will take the initiative to smile and greet the guests when they see them, help press the elevator and open the door, which makes people feel warm. This stay experience is still full marks, looking forward to the next reunion!

I chose Four Points Sheraton Hotel for the last night of my trip to Dunhuang. The underground parking lot is really the cleanest parking lot I have ever seen. It can be described as spotless. After checking in, I also found that there was a problem with the hot water supply. It was restored in about an hour. I asked the front desk the next day and found out that the hotel was installing a water purification system that afternoon, and the hot water supply on the upper floors was a bit slow. What surprised me most was that the hotel prepared a birthday cake for me when I left. In fact, it was not my birthday that day, but it was just shown on my ID card. I didn't have time for lunch, so I went to the airport to fill my stomach. I didn't complain to the hotel because of the hot water problem. It can be seen that birthday cakes are a daily arrangement of the hotel. Overall it deserves praise, but I still have some suggestions. There has been sandstorms in Dunhuang recently. Masks were given when I stayed in the other two hotels, and there is still room for improvement.

I was too tired to play during the May Day holiday. I have not had time to write a review. The hotel is great. The design is very good, giving people the feeling of Japanese service. The facilities in all aspects are very exquisite and the design is very thoughtful. The staff are all handsome men and beautiful women. Very stylish, the dining service in the restaurant and bar is also very good. Next time I have the opportunity to go again, I can stay for a few more days. It's an immersive kind. I don't go out, just stay in the hotel. There are various activities at night. It is worth recommending.

It was my first time in Dunhuang. When I saw the Vision Hotel under China Travel Group, I chose this hotel without hesitation. It was just like the Vision Hotels in other cities. Although it is a 4-star hotel, it feels like a 5-star hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with unlimited drinking water, fruits and snacks delivered every night, and free self-service laundry service.

Highly recommended to everyone. We traveled to Dun Huang in early May (2024), and we feel grateful for all the kindness we got here. The hotel is very clean, and the service is super accommodating. They provide free pick-up from airport (or train station), so all you need is to call them one day ahead (the receptionist can speak English if you don't speak Chinese). Everyone will smile at you and ask what they can help you when we stay there. The location is brilliant too. It is like 1000 meters away from Ming Sha mountain, and you can actually see the sand mountain when you have breakfast at the hotel (it is free too). We will definitely stay here again when we visit Dun Huang next time.
