Student accommodation gone holiday rental. Convenient location next to the tram. The room was basic as you’d expect- small double bed/desk/wardrobe/en-suite bathroom. Towels are provided but there wasn’t even any hand soap. The room was not clean. I pulled back the duvet to find small brown stains (looked like blood) and pink pen stains on the sheets. The toilet was disgustingly filthy and there was dried toothpaste down the side of the sink. On booking this accommodation we contacted Highfield House to request early check in. Their response was basically, if there was someone staying in the room the previous night, that would not be possible. Check in time was 2-3pm. We arrived at 3pm to be told that our room was not ready, so we were ignored for 20 minutes before we asked once again. The receptionist sent someone off to check, and suddenly our room was ready. This accommodation was basic and it did the job, but it was so overpriced at €145 a night. Worth also noting that there is a bus depot behind, and although the tram stop next door is handy, it is noisy. We were visiting Dublin for a gig, during a hugely busy weekend, so it was the cheapest and only option, but if you have a choice, I’d advise against staying here!
