Hotels near Église Saint-Clair, Donville-les-Bains

Excellent quality price for this hotel where we got my husband, daughter, cat and myself early February. Good location, near the station. This is the second time we go and we'll go back there.

A lovely hotel, with tastefully appointed rooms with balcony and spacious bathrooms. There is secure underground car-parking which is a worthwhile extra at 11euro a night given the hotels location and lack of parking around it. There is alift with direct access to reception and the bedrooms. The lift also descends to beach level but terminates at about20 very steep steps, so if you have any mobility problems take the car ! The car park has a height restriction of 1.7 meters which was fine for my Sportage but wouldn't take some of the very tall SUV's. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but several superb eateries within 5 minutes drive. The hotel will book a table for you. Staff are helpful, polite and a tribute to themselves and their management. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation...

On arrival into the barrier restricted car park ( not free),We checked in and were immediately given a so called upgrade from an unfriendly receptionist. Reception is a tiny dark area down some steps from the car park. This room 211 was not the room we booked and was a family duplex,a dated room with small old wooden stairs overlooking the car park. It was also smelly and small. So we returned to reception and declined the so called upgrade and asked for the room we had paid and booked, through their website. What came to light was a ”we don't have it available ” so something else then,”a disabled room” was offered,no thanks just the room we have already paid for. After what seemed like an eternity a queue formed qnd eventually we were given a room of the same standard as we had booked.We overlooked our car and the road, great! No helpful information or even a simple courtesy for a messy start a scowling looking receptionist shooed us away. We were about to ask for a refund and go elsewhere this was a bad experience. Now the room quite simply we will never stay again. Any mention of a refurb is nonsense it isn't in the same condition as many other Ibis hotels that charge less. Small windows,pokey bathroom and sloppy pillows with dingy decor. One towel each,no hand towel,we were informed ”we don't do that here”. No bin in the room and a bathroom the same as a ferry boat with a poor shower. Breakfast was in a cramped room with tiny tables not well laid out or managed. It was barely functional with insufficient space for the number of guests. Breakfast included a very surly unpleasant unprofessional madam barking at guests and made it eventful for the wrong reasons. We packed up paid our parking,not free as listed this is misinformation and got out of the gloomy environment. The two stars are only for the reasonably comfortable bed and nothing else.

L’amabilité du personnel remonte la note. Hotel très bruyant, la chambre est peu confortable avec un manque cruel de mobilier. La penderie est minuscule et très peu pratique. Le bureau est quasiment existant et la salle de bain ressemblent aux vestiaires collectifs d’un vieux gymnase dans les années 2000. Peut être que cela est juste le cas pour les chambres « handicapées ». Cependant j’ai été très déçue surtout que je suis restée une semaine et que je ne suis pas à mobilité réduite. Le petit déjeuner est correct mais il manque cruellement des œufs avec le salé. Dommage qu’il n’y ai pas d’indication sur la prévenance des produits (produits locaux ?! Aucune idée).

We stayed here for one night. Booked with *********** Was given good clear instructions about the access code, and the ticket which includes the shuttle bus at extra cost. Check in was efficient. The room was small but adequate.we had a dog with us. Very quirky style in furnishings in the room and throughout the hotel. Breakfast was ok. The hotel had free car parking. Very good location 25 minute walk to Mont St Michel.although there is a free shuttle bus right outside the hotel we were not allowed to use it Only small dogs under 10 KG allowed on the shuttle bus. .when we checked out we left behind my husband’s black puffa jacket in the room. Having made enquiries about it they don’t have it which I find strange as the garment was 100% left behind I can only draw my own conclusions as to what happened to the jacket .So my advice is to check the room on your departure as anything left behind you won’t see again... very disappointing and not what I was expecting. In viaggio in Bretagna abbiamo preso questo albergo come base per le nostre escursioni nei dintorni. L'albergo si trova a pochi minuti da Cancale (il Paradiso delle ostriche) ed è ottimamente posizionato per andare a Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo e la costa bretone. Immerso nel verde con un maneggio e un'atmosfera bucolica questo albergo si compone di due strutture: una, quella più chic, dove c'è la reception, la sala per la colazione, la piscina e una jacuzzi; l'altra, più popolare che è quella dove siamo stati noi, con camere discrete ed una bella doccia spaziosa. La camera è stata rifatta tutti i giorni con cambio degli asciugamani. Una notazione speciale per la colazione. 10 su 10 ! Fantastica ! C'era di tutto ... dolci tra i più vari (cornetti, saccottini, madeleine, plumcake) e pane freschissimi, formaggi divini (non per niente siamo in Francia), la spremuta d'arancia appena fatta e dolcissima, salumi, uova, macedonia, veramente un ben di Dio con tutte cose di qualità superiore. Ci torneremmo già solo per quella. In definitiva una permanenza di tre giorni veramente eccezionale. Consigliatissimo.
