we have just returned from a 2 night stay at the hex. the check in was quick and we were told about things. although the reception area is a short walk from the hotel. we were on the 2nd floor where we could see the wolves and tapirs. it was very quiet except for the sea lions making some noise nothing major. our room was of good size with a comfortable bed and lovely pillows. there was a hospitality tray which contained a good selection. also a safe and small fridge. the only downside was the bean bag . the room and bathroom was very clean. there was a good selection of toiliteries in the reasonable sized bathroom the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. there was a room containing vending machines micriowave. the breakfast in the bistro was of good choice. we ate here for our evening meal which was good value although drinks r a bit on the expensive side. evolution the other dining area was closed. electric scooters are available to hire , it is a long walk round the park but plenty of benches to rest if needed. our stay was very enjoyable and cannot wait to return very soon/

Very disappointed, we went there for two nights on the Bank Holiday weekend. They only told us a few days before that the restaurant would be closed due to a function so we had no time to find elsewhere. The breakfast on the first morning was so busy not much left and was awful when it came out. Seemed like the staff were running round like headless chickens. The second morning wasn't much better. When I asked foe a drink on the second day to take to the room I was told bar closed and had to go over to the pub ,owned by you. My wife had a knee replacement just a few weeks prior so walking was out of the question. So based on all this, I would not recommend and I wouldn't stay there again. Unfortunately my Sister booked the rooms so I couldn't get my Best Western points. Very dissatisfied

We stayed at Hellaby in March earlier this year. The drive up to it is stunning seeing the old house at the front. There is plenty of parking which was handy as we came with 2 cars. The staff are lovely and looked after us from the first time we stepped through the door. The spa facilities are fantastic! Our little man loved swimming in the pool and my wife loved the jacuzzi. It’s such a beautiful historic hotel and would definitely recommend anyone needing a hotel in the Sheffield/Rotherham area to stay here.

We have stayed in a few ibis hotels and this is the best one. Staff go out of there way to help you. Breakfast was lovely and they always had fresh scramble egg ready for me. We went for a weekend crafting and staff always loved to hear about our day over hot chocolate. Would definitely stay here again, rooms were very clean and big, quite place, plenty of disabled parking

First time having dinner and staying at a Greene King facility, and all I can say is I’m looking forward to trying other places within the chain. Focusing on The Red Lion, all I can say is that the entire stay was fabulous. The staff either at reception, behind the bar or in the restaurant were amazing and looked after us really well. The meal was gorgeous, and extremely generous. We shared starters and then struggled to finish my main (steak and ale pie). The room was clean, charming and super comfortable. The tea and coffee facilities were probably the best ones I’ve seen (apart from hotels offering proper coffee machine access). All I’m disappointed about was not staying longer… The decor gives a lovely, warm and cosy experience all over. Parking is free and has quite a lot of spaces. Traffic wasn’t an issue for me, slept like a log !

Although the location is a bit remote, driving and parking are very convenient, the key price is very high, the facilities in the room are ok, and the bed is more comfortable!

Went to Sheffield to go to Darcy Manor. Easy to get there from Lincoln. One and a half hours by train. Just walking from the train station, carrying it uphill all the way made me feel a little tired. But it is convenient to take the train downhill after checking out. When you go out of the Radisson Hotel, turn right and go straight down to the Pedestrian Street Commercial Street, which is quite lively. Directly opposite the hotel is the Peace Square with a fountain, and opposite is the beautiful City Hall building. The glass winter garden is also next to Peace Square. Among these hotels, this breakfast is the best with slightly more variety. But it's pretty much the same.

Excellent
WWill1968000We’ve just had a perfect wedding at the Mount Pleasant hotel, the whole experience was superb. My new wife and I stayed in the Taitinger spa suite, which was superb. Many of our guests stayed over and they all commented on how spacious and clean their rooms were. The only slight downside was noise in the corridors during the night which bothered some, but we weren’t affected. The food and staff in the restaurant are both of a high standard. We noticed that this hotel doesn’t seem to be affected by a lack of staff, which is something that seems to be commonplace nowadays. That really makes a difference to your experience. The wedding experience at this hotel was perfect and we would recommend it to anyone thinking about booking their wedding there. Paige, their wedding coordinator is excellent, as are all of the staff who work efficiently to make your day so special. Ross in particular was also excellent and although the hotel hosts many weddings they still managed to make ours feel special and unique. The whole day went seamlessly with fantastic food and service throughout. Thank you so much, we will be back!
CCostinaWE HAD A FRIDGE
The toilet sit had some soap smudge on it and initially thought is something else but if foamed when tried to clean it (I always have sanitizer with me as is only human to miss a spot and do a mistake. Didn't kill me cleaning that myself. Housekeeping job ain't easy. Bless you all. Just keep a better eye to avoid Karen type❤️) The receptionists were all friendly and happy to assist me with both check in and check out. We absolutely loved our room and the view was magnificent. The dawn was heavenly seen from our window❤️ What I loved the most was the fact that in the room we had a FRIDGE. Many hotels don't have that anymore and imagine having a room without a fridge with this heatwave going on 🥵 I will attach a photo with our beautiful view🤩 This hotel will be my top choice whenever I'll need a room around the area. Clean room, clean hallway, clean reception area. Please keep an eye for the accessible rooms. Read all description and detail before booking as they have special rooms for people with a health condition and the room will have some things at a low level to the ground. Will be your fault for not choosing the right room not the hotel's as you need to read description always. Don't take it out to the staff for your own mistake😊 Seen a lot complaining about that, as I've seen also about the rooms accessible and didn't understand the term initially, until I went through the details. After reading the details I knew exactly what room I need to book and what would not be convenient for me🙌 Bless you all and hope this review will be of help to some of you at least 😊
GGuest UserWe stayed here the night before we were due to fly from Robin Hood airport and what a gem of a hotel! Staff went above and beyond to make our stay laid back and comfortable. Simon the duty manager was very friendly and helpful! Simon preempted our needs and approached us to arrange our transport to the airport with out us having to ask! The customer service we received was far greater than any other chain hotel we’ve stayed at. The breakfast has an extensive choice and although it was busy in the morning it was managed very well! The room was comfortable and met all our requirements for our stay. Overall a nice night away before we go on holiday! Thank you!
GGerenzhuyipinglunjiaMost authoritative evaluation:
No mineral water is provided, no disposable toothbrushes, slippers, toothpaste, the room is very cold and no heating! There is no stairs on the second floor! Because there are more things, it is very tired when moving, and then there is very little toilet paper, basically no new ones!
AAirborn63The regent hotel is a historic family run hotel located near the centre of Dincaster about 10 minutes walk from the train station oposite a small park.
Downstairs the bar and restaurant can be found together with the reception. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Rooms are over a number of floors, I had single room at the back. The rooms was small but had window, work top, kettle and a queen size bed and a small tv. The room was clean but looks a bit dated which is reflected in the price which is fair and value for money.
Had a good night sleep and will stay again.
This is honestly the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Me and some friends stayed for one night to attend the races. Had it not have been a special event for my friend, I would’ve complained the second we arrived. However we had an hour to get ready and leave. The room myself and a friend were given was vile and guests shouldn’t be allowed to stay in it. The entire room stank of smoke and was stained brown, from the walls to the iron bed and the wardrobe- someone had clearly been chain smoking in it for some time. It was so bad that we opened the window wide open from the start of our stay at 3pm and kept it open when we left at 4pm. We returned at 11:30pm and the smell was so bad that 7 hours with the window wide open hadn’t helped at all. it was still difficult to breathe in. We both woke up multiple times in the night not being able to breathe (I’m asthmatic) and decided to pack up and leave at 7am. On top of this, the beds were awful, the wardrobe stank of smoke, the bathroom vinyl had a huge hole in it, the sink was smashed, the bathroom light didn’t work and the entire ceiling was covered in mould. There honestly wasn’t a single positive. The second I got home I contacted the hotel for a refund to complain about the absolute state of this room. (This room was much worse than the others our friends stayed in although they were also horrid) At first they were really helpful and someone said I’d get a refund as they admitted they had inspected the room, they needed lots of refurb, it had been closed off for guests and did smell of smoke. I was very understanding after they explained it was under new management and they knew improvements needed to be made. However, my refund never arrived. I continued sending polite messages every few months and consistently got told this matter had been escalated to ‘customer relations’ (pretty sure they don’t exist and I’m being laughed at, at this point) It’s been 10 months since our stay and all I want is a refund but realistically this won’t happen so now I just want this accommodation to be avoided- Even if you’re not looking for anything fancy when attending stag do’s/ hen do’s/ the Doncaster races, it’s not safe and I can imagine Doncaster has more comfortable/hygienic/ less smelly bins. Hopefully the videos attached show the full situation. I’ll be looking into taking further legal action as I’ve had long term respiratory complications since this stay from spending 7 hours in this room. I honestly have no idea who wrote the 41 excellent reviews but they’re clearly friends of the owners or must’ve been paid to write them. Not to overemphasise my earlier points but I’d rather sleep in a bin/ the street/a jail cell than stay here again. I just want my money and health back. PS- these videos were taken on a high quality camera. The air quality really was so bad that the entire room was brown/smoky.
