Arbiru Beach Resort

It looks like it was once a great place, looking old and needing repairs in places. The place is clean. Lots of rotting or broken shade sails around the pool area, which would have been better to just dispose of than leave them there ( glad we didn't have children with us they would have up them like monkey bars ) Pool itself is clean and well maintained. The air con in the bedroom broke down on day 1 - used the loungeroom air con to try and do the whole apartment. The bathtub was cracked and broken and had dodgy repairs so it creaked and groaned when you stood in it - sat on the edge to wash as I was scared the crack would give way and I'd fall through. The toilet had no pressure and was rarely flushing properly. The beds were hard as stone - I ended up sleeping on the lounge in the air con that worked but the foam cushioned/ wooden slat lounge started to fall to bits like a bad ikea piece and I had to put it back together each morning. I went to use the stove in the apartment and it had no gas connected. They tried to fix the air con when we reported it without success. I knew there was nothing they could do about the mattresses or bathtub or lack of water pressure. Breakfast was basic and OK. Lots of well-cared-for friendly cats ( I love cats ) they made my stay! The place has so much unmet potential and is right across from the beach, great for beach walks! Staff don't speak English very well so there were some communication issues. It was an adventure! If you are allergic to cats - not the place for you.

I loved my time at Arbiru Beach Resort. I got a complimentary pick up from the airport with a sign with my name on. A welcome drink was given to me when I arrived. The room was very big and spacious. Included a kitchen, dining table, office desk and a big bedroom. Air conditioning worked well and kept me cool. Very good wi fi internet which was reliable. Breakfast was included which had a decent selection. They included a complimentary laundry service which was great. The pool was big and clean. Nice flowers and palm trees around the pool. Sometimes I had the whole pool to myself. The best thing about the place was the wonderful staff. They helped me with booking tours, getting a SIM card and spending time interacting with me. Although this place isn't a "honeymoon resort" , for an adventure in Timor Leste, this is the perfect resort to relax and enjoy.

Breakfast was basic, eggs, white toast, maybe a piece of fruit. The room was dirty, only a bedcover, long hairs on the floor and I saw 2 large cockroaches. The food is expensive and ordinary. Location is not very convenient without a scooter or vehicle. You are asked to pay in USD cash. The beach out front is all stony and where boats are kept and garbage burned.
