We like to stay at Courtyard Dartmouth now for our visits to Hfx/Dartmouth. It's right smack in the heart of the Crossing with everything you'd need for food and shopping and entertainment easily at walking distance, but we still drive lot to lot. Easy, free parking. Next door to the Keg for a great steak. Room is quiet and clean. Even in a massive windstorm, it was quiet and peaceful inside. Beds are good. Shower is good. No complaints. One issue: DO NOT get the breakfast. We made that mistake. It's lacklustre and 3x the price for the value. With handily the worst service I've received in a ”restaurant”. We did it the first time. And our next stay (other end of the trip), we went to McDonalds in the same lot for cheaper and better. We use this as our ”airport” hotel. It's 15 mins to the airport in our rental car. There is NOT a shuttle. But it's close and better than the airport hotels actually at the airport.

I didn't pay too much attention to the location, because we went there just for pure sleep and left the next day. The cleanliness is OK, but the fly in the ointment is that the bathroom lights are very dim, which is not very good for the senses. For the service, I told the hotel my membership number in best wersern when I made the reservation. I thought the staff could notice it, but it didn't. In fact, the experience of staying in a star-rated hotel will not be too bad, the comparison is to pay attention to the details. Set up, because it was during the covid-19 period, the breakfast was allocated by the staff, there were not many varieties, but it was basically enough. There is no milk. There is no milk. This is a chain hotel less than half an hour away from Halifax Airport. The taxi fare is about 70 dollars. I have been flying to Canada from Hong Kong for nearly three months. I have chosen this chain hotel in every city. The hotel has a very good and hygienic environment. It's clean and comfortable. It's close to the station, airport, bank and supermarket. It's also very convenient. But the front desk staff is not enthusiastic or professional enough. There aren't many breakfast samples, but it's pretty good. I will choose it next time and recommend it to my relatives and friends👍🏻

I recently stayed at Sandman Signature hotel and couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated

The Hotel had renovated since our last visit and we booked accordingly, for an overnight stay. This turned out to be a mistake. 1) Upon checking in, we found that the room furniture & decor was very dated & in poor condition. Some efforts could be seen in attempts to update room decoration (including the bathroom) but damage to a wall had not been addressed 2) There was no soap in the room. I called to advise & was asked to come down to reception to get some. Upon arrival, I was told that the hotel was completely out, The solution was to use shower gel & were given extras 3) The TV didn't work because the wires had been disconnected from the box & TV. It appeared that when I pulled out the dresser to fix, I had been the only one back there in quite awhile 4) The Ice bucket in the room contained melted water from a previous guest with no replacement plastic liner. When asked, the service Staff were unaware of the location of any ice machines. After walking the 3 floors looking I had found 2 non-working machines. Reception went to the bar to provide a small bowl of ice. 5) Water pressure was virtually non-existent - the (slippery) shower pan had not been cleaned and because the curtain did not reach the floor, water was not contained. There were no shelves for convenience or Hand holds in the shower - very dangerous 6) Morning coffee was provided by only 2 Decaf packages - no regular 7) One of the bed's was off its wood frame & as a result, stuck out far enough to cause damage to the toe that was caught. 8) Front Desk had advised their staff that we had checked out (we had not) - we were terribly surprised when entrance was made at 9:30am 9) I sat on an (antique) couch in the lobby and promptly found out that there was no seat support. There was no indication that some furniture was not safe to sit on. It was evident that money had been put into making the hotel more attractive on the surface, but it could have been better spent in averting these kinds of reviews.
