Hotel Riu Touareg - All Inclusive

Review of The Touareg Hotel, Riu in Cape Verde Our stay at The Touareg Hotel was a nightmare from start to finish. For context, my wife and I are extremely well travelled and in our seventies. This is the first time we’ve left a review of a holiday experience Over the course of just three days, our room flooded not once, not twice, but FOUR times. Each time it was reported to staff, and each time they were dismissive and slow to respond. We were told it was fixed on three different occasions only to find it broken each time. The worst part was their outright refusal to move me to another room, despite the repeated flooding. It wasn’t until we reached our breaking point and begged to leave the hotel entirely that they reluctantly offered to relocate us. By then, the damage was done, and the holiday was completely ruined. The customer service here is abysmal. Staff seemed indifferent to our situation, and there was no sense of urgency or care about the discomfort and inconvenience we were experiencing. For a hotel that claims to offer a luxury experience, this was far from it. The final indignity was being offered £200 in compensation in the final days of our stay by TUI to be paid into our bank account (refused due to the paltry amount), only to be contacted by TUI upon our return and offered £150 in vouchers. Where is the joined up thinking? As if we’d want to go back! Why would we accept less than they’d already offered? Just sums up the shambolic nature of our holiday experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It took four days for them to move us from our flood damaged room and complimentary drinks and massages were not enough to save a holiday that already taken a physical and emotional toll. Save your money and avoid the stress by booking elsewhere. A truly awful experience.
Hotel Riu Karamboa - All Inclusive - Adults Only

First time visiting the RIU karamboa and what a experience it was. From checking in to leaveing the staff have been nothing but friendly, the cleaners, receptionists, bar staff, entertainers etc..... All very polite, happy going people. The food is amazing, such a variety aswell. Food I've never had and it was spot on. The pool bar staff are the most entertaining people you will ever meet, bar opens at 10:30am and from opening to close they are always smiling, laughing and singing to the music, they just make you feel so welcome. The hotel it self is 5* rated and we've had a 5*service throughout, amazing 10 days we've had and will definitely be returning when the new refurb has happened. Obrigada :)
