The castle hotel where Elizabeth I spent his childhood is really beautiful, the environment is beautiful, and the medieval castle hotel itself is classic and beautiful, it is worth visiting. The two receptionist were very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us when we checked in at the Coventry - Mile lane CV1 2LN, on a rainy coronation day. The duo were exceptional. Unfortunately I misplaced their names, a lady and a man. Thank you for your kindness and prompt assistance! Also, the hotel was very neat and clean, the room smell nice and fresh, the bathroom was very clean with clean towels, soap and shampoo, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a pleasant stay, great value for money! Excellent!!

Room was clean and tidy, good value for the money. A good variety of TV channels and free WiFi, you can purchase films at £3.50 each but the selection could be bigger, and in this day and age I think £3.50 to watch a film is a but steep. Was surprise I had to pay for parking when I arrived at the hotel, a token should be given to guests for free parking. I could of driven straight out of the parking area as the barriers were not working, which the hotel knew about but still wanted me to pay the £6.50 for our overnight stay. Hotel reception, bar and restuarant was nice and modern but we only had one drink in the bar due to the prices, Pint of Heineken and half a coke was just under £8, so being just a 5 min walk into the town centre and 2 local pubs just a minutes walk away, we decided to eat out and drink out, saving ourselves a lot of cash. I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but the prices for food were just too high for a hotel restuarant, and nothing on the limited menu that my 13 year old daughter liked. This is a large hotel, so I think it would be good for management to extend there food menu for family's and at reasonable prices, even if it's just the bar menu. Opposite the hotel there are numerous outlets, restaurants, take away pizza, kebabs etc. Hotel is in a great locations. If you like playing pool, there is a Rielys pool bar 100yards from the hotel. Would I stay again? Yes I would, staff were friendly, hotel was clean, had a good night sleep, bed was comfy, shower worked fine, large TV, great location, local shops outside, walking distance into town, my only issue really, was that we had to pay for parking at the hotel, to stay at the hotel, I personally don't think that's ok.

Upon arrival I had major reservations about what I had booked. The photos on the booking site were nothing like what I was seeing. The car park was nealry rubble and the surrounding grounds were poorly kept. Reception was quite grand in appearance but that's the only good point this hotel has going for it. For the size of the place there is hardly any staff. The room I had booked wasn't available now so given another. Waking down the hallway I could see the carpet littered in stains, absolutely filthy Room was very dated and the furniture was a collection of random bits, our coffee table was missing a leg and was proped up by a chair. Some old 5 pin plug sockets by the beds for the lamps. Bar area was also tired in appearance although staff were very friendly. The whole place needs a major overhaul.

We were able to check in at 3.00pm. Room was very nice, slippers and robes provided and the tea/coffee facilities had the added benefit of a coffee machine. Bed was very comfy and warm with lovely pillows. Breakfast was good. Everything there that you would expect, cooked well and hot. We were a little disappointed though on the morning of departure when we attempted to get the lift down to reception only to find when it arrived that the maids trolley had been placed in there so we had to use the stairs. This caused a problem for my husband who suffers with his hip. Secondly, on leaving we were not informed that the barrier was open. We saw the sign in the car park saying we needed to get a token from reception, so we drove back and went in to reception to ask, only to be informed we didn’t need one. It would have been helpful to have had this information on checkout. Other than this everything else was good

On the campus of Warwick University, the environment is okay, the rooms are not very new, but clean and sanitary, and the waiters are more enthusiastic. Breakfast is a medium-sized English breakfast. Go early and have fruit. The room comes with two small packets of cookies and various teabags. There is a living room on the first floor, where you can enjoy coffee and snacks for free!

Stayed one Tuesday night with business colleagues. Well presented hotel in a largely residential area. Plenty of car parking, welcoming reception. Evening meal at the onsite Marco Pierre White restaurant was very good, attentive staff with a sense of humour. Retired to the bar afterwards, but this closed at 10:30pm. Gone are the days of 'the bar stays open until the last guest leaves!'. Room was clean and bed very comfortable, other than there is no air conditioning. there was at one time as the grill is still above the entrance but the control panel has been replaced with a brass panel. Too expensive to run it? There was at least a fan (and a safe) in the wardrobe. There was no guest welcome information in the room at all, no feedback form, and no information about the 24/7 room service menu choices. I don't know if guests staying a few more nights or non-business group bookings might get more in their room or not? Marked down one star for the lack of air con and the early closing of the bar.

Perfect base for a one night stop over before an early flight the next day. The food was lovely in the bar and reasonably priced. Walking distance to the airport and car park so location is perfect too! We used the monorail to go to the NEC/resorts world arena area which has shops,cinema,bars and restaurants. Great if you have a bit of time there as the hotel room is tiny but has everything you need.

I booked a stay for one date then had to move the date due my one colleague being in the military and we eventually stayed for what we thought at the time was a pleasurable evening with this hotel on the 2nd September 2022. I felt I did call in plenty of time to move the first booking and just wanted to flag this up with them. They have now charged me for two stays and accused me of not moving the booking and not turning up. I earn a low salary due to my current job and there would be no way we would want to pay for two stays when we only wanted one night. They appear to not be concerned with my story and are refusing to refund the first booking As they have no proof it was moved on the phone by me. I did not receive an email confirming the move in dates and assumed all was well from the telephone conversation . Be aware this could and will happen to you if you need to change your room booking . They might charge you for two stays. I can barely afford this at present especially with rising prices in fuel costs. I will not be returning to this hotel group because they have ripped me off. What turned out as a smashing hotel stay has now turned into a really bad negative memory. It was not a corporate booking and every penny counts for me at this time and we are being treated as if the money means nothing , that we have been charged for two stays , for them appears normal. Even if it is wrong . Just to confirm we paid and stayed for the £205.12 Booking for one night , but were not at the hotel for the other fee they have charged which is £286 Again beware of these big hotel groups who are happy to take your money and if a mistake is made on their part, are very hard to get back a fee that they should not have taken .

GGuest UserReally had high hopes at first glance this hotel has so much promise, being from Coventry originally I'm so glad this iconic building has been transformed and I will say it's been done well in parts however the reason for my star rating is the following. I'm on my second night of two and sadly had to move rooms. I had Room 27 first walk in was a huge Big Double you could easily use this as a family room it was that spacious, the downside and I would soon find out is this room is a connecting room and unfortunately I had very loud neighbours to which let's say I could hear everything. I'm also not the only person too mention this on their reviews. I had to complain about the noise during the night and again in the morning. Room 27 I sadly also found the bed far too soft and had around four hours sleep. Worth a mention that Room 27 over looks the courtyard and again I found that to be quite loud. I'm already feeling drained having travelled 1000's of miles to attend a family funeral. I'm now in Room 315 and what a let down. This is not a Big Double. It has the same lovely touches that go into detail of the hotels history however the room is so small. It's not a connection room and is a corner room which is one thing. I've tried to sleep and can't again the bed is not to a great standard honestly I find premier inn have better quality beds and if it wasn't booked I would of happily of gone there tonight. Upon check out I'm going to ask for a 50% refund and won't settle for less as having no sleep goes along way for anyone during any hotel stay. I would rate the breakfast as 3 / 5 i t was nice enough but nothing special. The staff are friendly enough but sadly with no sleep and some rooms not what you think your getting ie Room 315 is definitely not a Big Double I do feel sold out and I'm just disappointed and drained. Dreading my journey home tomorrow now with no sleep. I will add sense writing this as I booked through a third party and raised my complaints I was spoken too on the room phone by a Manager who had informed me my third party had spoken too them and wanted to know what my complaint was. Once I informed them of the noise and bed quality of both rooms ie the beds they snapped down the phone to me that this is a new hotel and the beds are new. They wouldn't be issuing a refund and basically my complaint was shot down. I have worked for over 25 years in the hotel trade even owning my own business of running successful hotels and bnbs. None of my staff would speak down to a customer in such a manner. They did end the call with see how I get on if I can sleep and speak to them in the morning however my mind is made up. This hotel is being run by monkeys who couldn't manage to peel a banana, let alone run what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 star over all at best with no pool, the poor quality of beds,lacking an average breakfast, is not that of any four star hotel I have been at or run successfully. TTsarskayaWe came to Coventry for duties but had to take our dog with us. searching for a cheap night over this hotel was a perfect choice. Located on the services area has fuel, Starbucks and few places to eat. Pet charge is 15£ but the room rate was 38 which is a real deal. Bed is not that bad, windows are opening for fresh air, shower is clean. Good option for a travelers on low budget.

I was disappointed with the bar and grill manager who appeared to not be informed or aware of the offers included with an upgrade. The lighting in the club room needs improving as very dim. Not enough lamps to compensate for lack of ceiling lighting. Overall we had a good stay and this was our second time staying in this hotel. From my experience of staying in a standard room, and then upgrading to a club room, there was no actual difference in the room standard. Only benefits are the offers included when staying in a club room.

DDONGHotel service, the environment is ok. The facilities are not satisfactory. The first room wash basin was not smooth, because it was late, no one repaired it, and changed it. However, the flushing of the toilet was a little problem, the water kept flowing, I didn't want to bother, and repaired it myself. The environment is ok, very quiet, unfamiliar with the geography of Coventry. It feels like it is in the village, about six kilometers from the railway station. Fortunately, it is very convenient to play Uber. There is nothing to go around, go out for more than a kilometer and have not found a restaurant to eat, return to the hotel, only to find inside the hotel, taste good, beer is great! The price is about the same as the London restaurant.

Very clean and modern. Understandable that they require a Deposit as the apartments are all new and if damage occurs they can recover the damages.

The main door and room codes weren’t provided after my booking, and staff were confused/ repeated questions - wasn’t too impressed with that unfortunately!
