Conveniently located about 10 minutes on foot from Independence Square. The first floor is under renovation, and the elevator feels old, but I received sufficient service for the price.
The hotel was very comfortable and the rooms were very comfortable. We had booked with a month in advance, confirmed by phone before arrival, everything came perfect until we arrived and did not let my husband and children come in. I wasn't at the hotel yet, but I had already warned that I who made the reservation was coming a little late. The first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the first time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second time the second Then we got the room and it is clear that when we entered there were 3 football players, which had also happened to them, they had found someone in the room. We were very bad as we were 4 in two beds. After a 14-hour trip. But no one succeeded in giving us an explanation or solution

Everything was excellent. The room had recently been redecorated and was very clean, the restaurant is superb, hotel staff was very friendly and pointed us to interesting places in the city. It is at a central location in the city so it's great if you're planning to explore by walking on the rambla. We hope to visit again soon!

Excellent room, view and location (50 metres from Shopping Punta Carretas). Although you have a parking option, the places are limited and the option is about 3 squares from the hotel. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.
Hotel location is good, in the city center, there is a supermarket nearby, it is convenient to go anywhere by bus, there are large supermarkets around. But the price of the supermarket is high, haha, I feel that the hotel is quite safe.
A very good more upscale hotel in Montevideo. it's close to many transport options and breakfast was included as well.
The rooms were alright; but nothing that wasn't working.
The staff were super welcoming and warm, always attentive and smiling, especially at the front desk!

It takes 20 minutes to walk to the old town. The hotel is very old and the rooms are not too big. The breakfast at the hotel is good and exquisite, especially snacks and cakes. The hotel has a nice outdoor swimming pool and indoor hot spring.
Freundlicher Empfang und einfacher Check-in. Zimmer sauber und alles drin. Frühstück mit frischem Obst und frischem Saft, aber abgepackte Marmelade. Wir haben uns sicher gefühlt und würden wieder kommen!

Outstanding
BBryce van de LaarWe spent two nights in Alquimiste and we never wanted to leave! The guesthouse which is almost 100 years old is full of antique furniture, original artwork, and even has a lookout tower on the 4th floor boasting 360 views of the Carrasco neighborhood.
It is a 2 minute walk from the beach and very close to some of Montevideo’s most famous restaurants. Carolina and Mark are delightful and happy to help with anything.
The restaurant is lovely, and the breakfasts is a real treat. Hot croissants, freshly baked scones with marmalade and cream cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, and beautifully plated granola we’re just some of our favorites.
Staying at Alquimiste, you really feel like you are apart of something special!
GGuest UserHotel location is very good, go out is a beach, the room is quite clean, unfortunately there is a music festival, the sea view room is gone. . (But the locals say this is not the sea, they are called river)
GGuest UserGreat location, facilities and hotel ambiance. Staff was attentive although the service on the 10th floor restaurant was very slow. Also the service at breakfast could have been a bit faster. The dinner experience was good and the food quality very good. Will highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe location is very good, just next to the square alone, you can take a few steps to see the lifting and lowering of the flag ceremony in Uruguay. There are many convenient shops around.
The hotel is an old building remodeled, living in it can experience the living conditions of the past residents. Old stairs, old elevators, old windows, etc. give people a lot of nostalgic taste.
The handsome guys and beauties of the front desk staff are like family members, and the service is very considerate and thoughtful.
GGuest UserThe location is convenient, very close to the sea, and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The basic facilities are complete, the overall is not bad, and the price performance ratio is high. Fly in the ointment, the water volume of the shower faucet is too small, which affects the experience of staying.
GGuest UserI had no problem. Room equal to the photos, excellent location (I did a lot of things walking and buses close to), hotel restaurant also good to eat and save the night when you're tired to go out for dinner.
CCThe hotel is located outside the bus terminal of 3 Cruces, which is convenient. The room Igotwasquite small and therefore, the toilet was inconvenient to use due to lack of space. The service at the hotel was quite weird, they always had the main entrance of the hotel closed, so youhad to knock the gate every time you wanted to get in. To have your room cleaned you had togo toreception and requested cause nobody cleaned the room, only the ones where the guests checked out. I find the service of the hotel quite weird and for a chain like Wyndham quite bad.

Very Good
GGuest UserAlthough the room is not big, it is very clean and tidy, and the front desk service is also very good. There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby.
LLanaStar13The hotel is located right opposite the station. Very convenient, so chose. Comfortable bed, white skiing, what you wouldn't say about towels. Well, why don't hotels provide at least one small bottle of water? ! I had to go to the supermarket, too across the road. For breakfast you can say almost nothing. Toast bread, butter, jam, one kind of cut cheese and ham, coffee, milk, juice and mushrooms. There were no vegetables, no fruits, no yoghurt. Baking 2-3 the species is absolutely tasteless. Omlet is required. Otherwise it would still be hungry at all. It is possible to stay overnight, but breakfast is definitely not recommended to take.
The average price for hotels in Montevideo is US$95 on weekdays, and US$98 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
