The iconic resort is perfectly located, within a 10 minute walk to Old Scottsdale shops and restaurants. The property is vast and well maintained. The recently updated rooms are large, comfortable, clean and well stocked. The pool grounds are fantastic and well staffed, offering bar, food service and ice water accessible to all guests. A relaxing massage made the stay extra special. The staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive to guests. Maegan at the front desk was super sweet, helpful and made sure that all of our requests were taken care of. Overall this was a perfect 4 day getaway.
The property is 5 Diamonds in every way. Location central to all of Scottsdale. Grounds are beautiful and the housekeeping staff is excellent. All appointments in the spacious rooms are premium down to the leather box for the TV remote. We ate breakfasts in the Ironwood Grill and the food and service were 4 star. Best of all, the service and friendly staff elevated this resort to top level. This was the first time at the Princess; it won't be our last.

There is good reason this place has so many 5 star reviews. Before I arrived, I received an email from the property about construction. I called and spoke with Derek and explained it was an anniversary trip and that we would like a room away from the noise. We ended up with a beautiful room and heard no noise at all. Derek and his colleague Sydney were responsive to all of our needs and requests, no matter how small. They really do go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience for their guests. Daily breakfast at the Canyon Suites was also top notch. Everything was fresh and their “continental breakfast” included bagels, smoked salmon, delicious pastries and fresh fruit among many other things. My experience at the spa was delightful, but not exceptional. The spa was very busy which is good for the venue I suppose, but it was loud in the relaxation spaces and just felt crowded. I didn’t even try to go to the spa pool since the Canyon Suites pool was so much calmer and quieter. You have access to the main resort pools which were fun and boisterous and I’m glad we experienced a day of it, but for a vacation meant for unwinding, it was back to the Canyon Suites pool for the rest of our stay. All of the pools greet you almost immediately with ice water (complimentary) and a menu to order (pay for) other snacks if desired. The restaurants were also very good, but you’d expect that at the prices they charge. I definitely recommend The Canyon Suites at the Phoenician.

A colleague and I popped over from the Courtyard property that is adjacent. We had dinner and drinks. Terrific food, and even better service. Alan was top notch on service and suggestions on what to get. Will definitely be back!! If you’re considering this property it’s a great choice, and be sure to go see Alan for great food, drinks, and service!
I recently stayed in one of the Villas and checked out on April 29. We were three friends traveling together, celebrating my birthday, I was very disappointed. The hotel was very understaffed. I had a few bad experiences with one employee, whose name was Christina. The first time, my friends and I ordered lunch at the pool bar. We were given a number that clipped onto the table. The number was not facing out directly, but on a slight angle. Christina came up to us with a plate of food, that was not ours, and in a nasty tone said, ”How can I see the number if it's not facing me”. After we finished lunch, my two friends went to the bar to settle the bill. They were standing there waiting to pay the bill and Christina was just ignoring them. Then my friend, Larisa, said something like “can I pay?” and Christina just kind of looked at her and rolled her eyes and said you should’ve said what you wanted. Then Larisa asked her why she had an attitude, and Christina got very defensive and said, ”I do not have an attitude, you have an attitude.” And Larisa reminded her of what happened at the table with the number and that you should never argue with customers, but she was still very defensive. And then after a while, just said she was sick. When we were at the pool, we noticed that all of the cabanas were unoccupied. We called the number that was on a chain and asked what the cost was. We were told by Margaret that it was $200.00. We offered $100, and Margaret said ”We would never accept that amount.” The next time we had a run in with Christina was while my friend and I were waiting at the Starbucks counter for at least 10 minutes. Christina walked past us several times and not once asked if we could be helped. I finally asked if we could place an order, and she responded in a very nasty tone, ”You have to wait in line.” We then stood in line and placed our order. I ordered a Grande Americano. She made a tall Americano. I told her the order was wrong, and she proceeded to argue with me ”That is what you ordered”. She changed the coffee to a Grande, and we sat at a high-top table to eat. While sitting at the table, we noticed that the food and beverage manager passed us, so we stopped him to tell him of our experience. Jeff told us that Christina was on our way out, and at her last review she was disciplined due to her attitude. I also mentioned to Jeff that we offered $100 for a cabana rental and Margaret said no. He told us he would buy a round of drinks at the pool bar and offered us a cabana on Sunday. When we went to speak to Jeff on Sunday to get a cabana, he first told us to take any one. Then he said ”No, they are sold, take number 4”. Well Jeff lied to us. No other cabana was occupied that day. Several employees did stand out though with exceptional service. Will who worked at the front desk. Justin at the pool bar; always polite and with a smile on his face, no matter how crappy his
We stayed here for six nights in early October as part of a vacation to Arizona where we saw the Arizona Cardinals-Cincinnati Bengals NFL game and also took a day trip to see the Grand Canyon/Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon. This hotel — and the staff — might have been the best we've encountered on a U.S. vacation. The pool was big and wonderfully refreshing (highs were 97-99 degrees while we were there), and plenty of towels were available at the pool every day. There was a restroom next to the pool (we've stayed at places where this isn't the case, and it's incredibly inconvenient). The hot tub and fitness center were near the pool and looked nice, but we didn't use either. Our suite was big and the balcony was nice, everything worked like it was supposed to. We only ate breakfast at Agave, the on-site restaurant, but the Huevos Rancheros was beyond amazing. Hashim was our server all 3 times we ate there, and he was terrific; friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond repeatedly with his service and kindness. Ditto Jim driving the shuttle, and Dominick working the front desk when we checked in and driving the shuttle. They offer free shuttle rides (though you should tip) anywhere within a 5-mile radius. As is custom for my wife and I, we went to a grocery store nearby when we arrived to stock up on drinks, snacks, etc. Jim helped bring the groceries up to our third-floor room, and he and Dominick offered plenty of tips and helped whenever possible. We are Marriott Bonvoy members, and that came in especially handy on this trip. In addition to using points to pay for the stay (we still had to pay sales tax & a daily resort fee), we received a daily $30 restaurant credit & free bottled water whenever we wanted it. The landscaping was solid (plenty of palm trees, which I love) and cactus plants throughout. The setting, with the McDowell Mountains to the east and TPC Scottsdale right next door, was good as well. There really isn't anywhere you can go (restaurants, shopping, etc.) within walking distance, so either rely on the shuttle, drive and pay the $20/day parking fee (we opted not to) or Uber/Lyft everywhere. The parking fee kinda stinks because the location really doesn't call for it unless TPC is hosting an event. Finally, housekeeping was really, really good (daily service, which is increasingly rare) and the rooms, furniture, and bedding were all clean and in good shape. Just an incredible experience from start to finish. When/if we have reason to visit the area again, we'll definitely stay here, and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone staying the Phoenix area for any reason.
*BUYER BEWARE* We have waited YEARS to make the time for a staycation and This is as DISAPPOINTING as it gets. EVERYTHING is an unfortunate GIANT cash grab, filled with add ons and add ons and more add ons. Just when you think you have a handle on one thing, there is a cost for another thing. If you pay or something that is out of service, there is no refund, just a credit to do something again. There is no customer service, just a hand out asking you for more money, everywhere you look. You have to pay for EVERYTHING, from parking (even if you don't have a car and take an uber). Their mobile order wasn't working, and you can't call guest services to order food, so after trying to order food on the app for an hour, and calling down to guest services, we had to walk all the way back to their food court to order crap expensive pizza and wait another thirty minutes. This is NOT the best way to ensure a kid friendly experience. We were sold the WOLF PASS. It's $70 and was supposed to include pretty much everything with no additional charges. What they don't tell you is half the attractions are either down, or time sensitive. We bought it mainly for the Magiquest and Rope course. The rope course was closed and no refunds were offered or allowed, and the person who they had to explain Magiques was brand new and had no idea how to explain how anything worked, all he knew was that it was an ADDITIONAL $25 to start it, AND ANOTHER $20 for a good wand, not the crap wooden wand. We saw physical fights in the lines for the water slides, and the most frustrating part was their customer service robot ”Willow” reached out a dozen times and I explained our disappointment time and time again, and no resolution was ever offered. The simply don't care, they just want you money. Had I known this ahead of time, it might have been a more enjoyable experience, but we will never go back. We'll spend our hard earned money at the local waterparks that care about their neighbors and customers.

Nice modern, quiet property. We moved here after a bad experience in the Old Town area of Scottsdale and although a ways away from the shopping and dining areas of central Scottsdale, it offers a quiet, comfortable stay. Only downside during this stay is almost every food item wasn’t available - apparently they are changing the menu. Not really acceptable because there are no other restaurants nearby without driving. We wanted a light dinner without leaving the hotel. Plenty of on street parking if you don’t want to pay for parking.
AAilinI am used to great hospitality, I am from Malaysia, but staff from Comfort Inn exceeded our expectation. They went above and beyond regular service when they had to evacuate our things while we're still conferencing. The care and mindfulness of their housekeeping staff was truly commendable. Thank you most sincerely.
Great experience, America the teller up front was great. Ms.Lisa was also very nice along with the workers of the bistro bar & kitchen. Also the rooms were very clean and even smelled amazing. I also enjoyed the amenities that being the hot tub, pool and gym. Honestly a great experience
TTanya HThe breakfast was so fresh and delicious! The scrambled eggs were wonderful (not from a powdered mix) and there was yummy homemade coffee cake. The staff working the breakfast room were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. What a great start to the day! We were VERY impressed.
GGuest UserWow this hotel is beautiful! Everything was a great experience from check in to check out. Great location, close to many places to eat. The rain tree cafe was closed the night we checked in and we are out for breakfast so I cannot comment on that. The room was perfect, clean and in good condition. I wish we could have stayed more than one night! Everyone was so friendly too!
HORRIBLE PLACE, even worse staff. Working in a hotel should be for people who are friendly and kind, that extends to the people they work with. I stayed here, and while I was walking one evening outside my room I noticed a housekeeping worker sitting alone past midnight on a small little golf cart. She was distressed and almost crying, when I asked what was wrong she said she had left her car key locked in the workers office and the staff and security guard refused to help her, she had no money for an Uber no family to come get her. She said she’s a mother has small kids, and all I could think of is what kind of establishment treats people like that? Or is it just housekeeping workers get treated that way? The front desk staff was rude and condescending, like you’re bothering them by asking them questions. They think being a front desk receptionist means they get to be rude to everyone else and pretentious. If this is the way this establishment treats its workers then it’s a very good reflection of how they run it and I will not ever be staying here again, I will not recommend it and I hope they get some kind of lawsuit for treating their workers like scum.
GGuest UserOur stay was very pleasant. Family vacation for seven days. The staff were friendly, and helpful with information regarding the area. Room was clean and additional supplies and cleaning service provided when requested.
Would have preferred variety in breakfast selection. Breakfast was not bad. There was fruit some days and some days not. The entire seven days we stayed they offered bacon only on one day. It would have been nice to offer half bacon and half sausage as daily options. Grateful for hot breakfast none the less.
Workout room was enjoyable. Overall good stay.
Eevang9716I was going to give this place a one however the last day a Manager came to my room and apologized for everything and was very pleasant. As soon as I walked in and said Hi I have a reservation the lady at the front desk said, ”ID!” Nothing else, just ”ID” No smile or welcome or anything. I gave her my ID and she gave me a key. The shower did not work.At 3:00, I asked the same lady for help and she says, ”I'm sorry, our maintenance man has left for the day. I'll send him over tomorrow morning at 6:00 am”. I said what about another room?” Nope, sold out!” then turned away and walked back into the back room.Next, There was no microwave in the room so I walked back again and said don't all rooms have a microwave? Yes. Not in mine.Oh! Ill get someone to take a look.I said ok and walked back to the room, key did not work.Walked back to the front, she did not say a word, reprogrammed the key. 7:30 pm, walked back because still no microwave, new guy up front and said I will get me a microwave in the next ten minutes. Guess what? Nothing. Went out to eat, back at 9:00, another guy, very helpful but when he looked up my room, he said, you are not supposed to be here. ???? He said there is no reservation of me being here at the hotel so he cannot help me. after showing him my reservation, he Walked over himself and gave me a microwave and opened the door for me. Closed the door, my key didnt work, again. He fixed it so the key worked but it happened again the next morning. Good area tho
