Toyoko Inn is located a few minutes walk from Yamagata Station. It is a safe and stable Toyoko Inn, and the facilities are the same as usual. I had a comfortable stay with no issues with cleanliness. There were not many restaurants in Shui, but there were many if you went to the other side of the station. This is a safe and comfortable accommodation that we can recommend.

We went as a group of 5 to snowboard and the location was perfect, 7 min walk from chairlift 4, they also offer special deals for daily lift passes and nearby rental shop (Best Rental Shop) which was great! Fantastic onsen in the facilities open 24 hours every day (2 public and 3 private was available) was perfect for our aching bodies! The best part were the staff in particular a very cheery waiter who always delivers breakfast and dinner service with a smile! Food was delicious and showcased all the best seasonal local foods. While reception staff were not well rehe****d in english they tried their best to assist us as best as possible. They are slightly short staffed on front desk/in the shop but we were never really rushed for service and a bit of patience meant everyone is happy and you were eventually seen to! Our room was simple japanese style room with futons but very large for 5 people with nice views. We would absolutely come back here it was a very enjoyable stay!

It is an old hotel, so you may not want to take a bath in your room, but their public bath is good. This place is on the hill which means you will not want to walk by your own in winter because of the slippery Mountain path. But in other hand it is really convenient because they provide shuttle bus to bus station or cable car station. And there is a ski place just in front of the hotel, you can borrow the equipments from hotel.

The check-in time was 3 o'clock, but I arrived 25 minutes early, so I thought I'd just check in, but when I entered, I was told that it would start at 3 o'clock and was kicked out.I was asked to come back after 3 o'clock.This is the first time this has happened to me. is. Many hotels usually let you wait in the lobby or let you enter if you are ready. I stayed for several nights, but at first I was told that the fee would be paid at the time of check-out, but when I returned on the second day, I was suddenly asked to pay the fee.And when I entered the parking lot, there were about 50 customers coming today, so I stopped. All of the staff members I asked were female, but the male staff were very polite and nice, and the room was very clean and nice. I'm disappointed because the reviews have been good recently. I stayed with breakfast included, and the breakfast was delicious. I would like to eat dinner if I have a chance.

GGuest UserAn inn with a connection to poet Mokichi Saito. Waka poems written by the guests and locals are displayed, and there are *****s of paper and writing brushes in the room. The number of rooms is small, and meals can be served in private rooms. The furnishings and furnishings, and the tableware used for meals, etc., show a sense of commitment and taste. In particular, the cloudy, sulfur-scented hot springs while looking at the piled-up snow and the delicious, gentle-tasting dishes made with ingredients from Yamagata are pleasing to the eye and very satisfying. I was able to learn about the history and culture of Yamagata by receiving detailed answers to my questions about ingredients and other items. The shuttle service to the bus terminal and ropeway platform is also a nice service.

GGuest UserWe arrived at Mt Zao in the middle of Our Epic Six Week Trip To Japan, during which we stayed in nine different hotels. This room was amongst my favourites. The staff largely didn't speak English and were not helpful. We had a stand off at the restaurant as we didn't understand that we couldn't dine at there without having made a booking far in advance. After this was explained, there was no apology or suggestions for alternative dining options. There are limited dining options in Zao. We ate at the Soup Curry place one night and a cute sushi joint another night. On the last night we ended up getting an ebiken bento box from the local L****ns as nothing was open. We did book breakfast each morning and that was fantastic. Lots of Japanese and Western options and it seemed like the food had all been prepared onsite. The hotel is very pretty, with a lovely view of the forest from the lobby. There is a common room with free coffee, tea and ice creams. People were pretty friendly in there. The hotel is the furthest from the 'town' but the closest to the ski lift and to the 'sulfurous' onsen. The ski lift is about 50 metres from the hotel and the ride up and down is spectacular. I thought the onsen was top notch. The sulfurous onsen outside has milky water that is supposed to be good for your complexion. It was fun having an onsen with snow all around. We stayed in the Western style room - it was spacious and well appointed. Our little lounge area had a beautiful view of pine trees and lots of snow. There was also a similar view from the luxurious bath tub (but I didn't use that tub as the onsen was so good.) The beds in our room were very hard. Our room also had a massage chair which I used for hours a time. It was a bit of a trek getting to Mt Zao. The hotel staff weren't very helpful with organising buses but they did drop us off at the bus stop early in the morning and we were picked up on our day of arrival. I know that the staff weren't friendly to us because of the language barrier, which is a shame because everyone should enjoy this venue. I would stay here again for sure. Next time we'll book the dinner set. It did smell amazing ! --

CCHOONTECKSpacious for me. Although a bit old it good conditions. Only issue is thar the aircon it either on or off and it pretty warm so for late autumn and winter it is alright. Breakfast is either Japanese or western and the lounge is cosy. The carpark is a multi storey carpark west of the hotel so to drive past the building and anticlockwise. Good deal when I book it for 1 night. There a family mart right below.

GGuest UserThe location is good. Room is decent equipped with heater that I think is time to replace seems not working very well. The breakfast and dinner especially is very worth n nice. First night we had pork shabu shabu n second night lamb BBQ. The staffs in restaurants r friendly n good, especially the old uncle n Philippo lady . Can see all the local staffs sort of rely or keep letting the lady work only as she speak english. In other words, a bit taking advantage of her. onsen is also nice especially the outdoor with trees n snow feel. The front desk staffs r very bad. There is one young guy that just stand there and when I carry my little girl with one hand while another hand pushing luggage where I need to push the entrance door. During check in, even the philipino girl helped to push the luggage inside while the same guy just stand there n look. Another more serious attitude guy was the older shorter guy with mole on his face, I parked my car in front as there was no parking didn't know is the hotel's van lot, the guy spoke with to remove the car like scolding n yelling at me. Super bad attitude. Lastly the air filter in the room, the cleaning standard operating procedure should include cleaning the water tank n it's surrounding. Looks very dirty with mold. Overall is worth your money n experience just some negative experiences by some bad staffs. Not missing another issue is the smoking room, is the exactly at the entrance n next to the welcome drinks sofa (though with ventilation n dedicated room but still can smell the smoke)

GGuest UserI did n’t order breakfast so I do n’t know, this is a Japanese-style bed, you can have as many beds as you like, but I do n’t know if I will check you if you stay too much. I have n’t cleaned it for a long time, but I did n’t clean it when I checked in. There are also cups. There are 4 cups in the row above the refrigerator, which seem to contain a total of eight cups of water. In a wooden cabinet, there is no sterilization effect. I use The finished cup was put in directly the next day. I do n’t wear lipstick, but I will apply lip balm at night. The next day they put towels and bath towels to change water and cups, but in fact the cups just help you put them in the cabinet. There are my lip balm lip prints on the cup, water traces on the cup, dried water traces, and it feels dirty than the cup. I only use hot water to burn it. The front desk for men in their 60s is impatient. This hot spring cannot be used outdoor at all. The water is shallow. The boy next door is a connected pool and can see each other. Japanese people ca n’t wear clothes in the hot spring. The outdoor hot spring is really furnished and not good-looking. Indoors The female hot spring is OK, the glass is transparent, at least you can take a hot spring to see the snow, the price is more expensive than the Yuchi Seven Hot Springs, and the hot springs are not as good as there. There is also a small convenience store with a small amount of fruit, apples and oranges for sale.

GGuest UserI visited with my children on weekdays in June. On that day, we were able to use it very freely because we were the only customers. The impression is that the building is carefully and beautifully used. The restroom was not in the room and was shared, but it was clean and there was no particular stress. (Because there were no other customers) The landlady was kind and talked to the children many times, so it was comfortable even with children.
