We stayed at Yu Kiroro for one week and it was the best vacation my family could have asked for! You definitely need a car if you will be staying here and there’s plenty of parking for guests outside and near the hotel across the street. The entrance is very welcoming and we felt at home right away. When you check in, each guest receives a complementary parfait and one access to private onsen. The hotel was very clean and very quiet. The kitchen is well-equipped with dish-washer, oven, microwave, and a massive fridge so we simply bought groceries when we felt like staying in at a local supermarket (I recommend TRIAL). The bathrooms were also very nice with room and floor heating so your feet won’t get cold in the morning. The sheets were crisp and clean and the massive window in each room had an amazing view and sunlight on a good day. The restaurant within the hotel was very affordable yet served high quality food with great view of nature. They also offer family friendly activities such as horse riding, morning walks, and outdoor bbq. Overall, it was a great experience to escape from the city to relax and go to onsen every night before it closes at 12 am. They are also very reasonable with room keeping and respectful with our privacy and time as we stayed in a lot. This place is a must try, and we will definitely go back especially in winter! It is an Auberge right in front of Yoichi Station. I thought it was an accommodation to enjoy meals at the restaurant and enjoy wine. For details, you may want to refer to the restaurant information. Is it like I'm going to disturb a little rich friend's villa? It was an unforgettable memory for us.

Sho Inn completely subverts me as a clean, picky person, incredibly clean and tidy!!! Everyone will have a separate room, comfortable and spacious bed, enjoy the snow outside the window. The common area is extremely simple and clean, the bathroom is clean and convenient, the hotel is designed in a simple style, tasteful, no redundancy, no lack. Everyone's needs are different, but I think it is a good way to stay. The boss is very kind and helpful. He is always ready to complete the requirements put forward by the other party, pick up the station and drop off the station and transportation requirements, and it is free. I am very grateful that I appreciate the tissue box on the side of the sink. He asked the location and drove me to buy it immediately, and then sent me to the station to buy a ticket and left. Unforgettable thanks, the miss is even more human.

A delightful hostel run by students from the local Otaru University of Commerce. I had originally imagined this place to be a shabby student dig but the property, a newly renovated house once lived by the CEO of a local company, was better equipped and maintained than some of the hotels I stayed in the centre of this town. As I felt tad too old for a dormitory experience (I had enough of that at school) I opted to stay in a single room. Even in the coldest of seasons the room was warm and cozy, and the bed was comfortable and clean. If you are safety-minded you could ask for a room key, though I found this totally unnecessary as there was always someone looking after the house. There is a large kitchen you can use to prepare food, and unless you are looking to indulge in heavy cooking the facility is more than adequate, and in the living room there was a low table and a kotatsu, a Japanese table with the under-the-table heater and a blanket. You can’t experience this in a hotel normally but it is a traditional winter fixture in Japanese homes. An added bonus of staying here was the chance to speak to the students about their life in Otaru. It was a welcome change to the bland experience I had gotten used to staying in a hotel, and a priceless experience spending time with the young local entrepreneurs.

It is a type of rental house. I used it with 5 friends. The hotel was on a hill, with a narrow road in front and a back road. It feels like an old folk house, and it has a pretty taste. It's like a grandma's house in the countryside. There is a washing machine in the dirt floor that would have been a selfish exit. It was helpful to have a washing machine. I didn't use the kitchen, but since there are ２ sinks, I don't think the washrooms are crowded when staying with a large number of people. Also, insects come out insanely. It's normal in the room. Spiders, gejigeji, moths, small feather bugs. I can defeat it because there is an insecticide, but I feel very nervous when I go to bed. Futons were laid on the 1st and 2nd floors, but everyone slept on the 2nd floor. I think it's tough for people who don't have insects to stay.
