As usual this lovely family run hotel was very good. `the private beach is a real asset, and good sized pool, `spotlessly clean, all the staff are lovely and friendly, walk into town so easy and also so easy to get the bus practically outside hotel to Taormina. Our first family holiday abroad and to Sicily. The hotel is beautifully situated on the mountains with stunning views. I was concerned about the highway you can see from the hotel but there is barely any noise. It's very quiet at night some evening entertainment but didn't see much on in the way for children. The children's club (daytime) is mainly Italian and wasn't really promoted for international families. Plenty of choice for food and lots of fresh fish to try. Gluten free options available on request but not a wide range. Sunbeds are plentiful and lucky enough to have 2 main swimming areas. Staff will remove any towels if you're not there for a while (when we were at lunch) or if they're put down too early. The main pool is very deep but the kids pool at the sister hotel was perfect. The hotel is clean and offers a relaxing stay. Some kids activities during the day by the main pool. My main concern was the cleanliness surrounding the buffet (mainly the ice creams the kids would put their fingers in and during the holiday I ended up with gastroenteritis for 3 weeks). The staff do need to be supervising more on these areas. Lady at the excursion desk was very friendly. Every time you need a clean beach towel you have to pay 10 Euros. Luckily we took our own beach towels. Also we were really disappointed we tried the sister hotel restaurant to be told it was fully booked (there were enough tables) so we didn't eat there all week. We were also not aware that the pizzeria is not included in the all inclusive package so you may find a big bill! Our room was very clean and quiet. Some long waits for the funicula and be prepared for some very pushy Italian families who do not understand a queue system. The local area is nice to explore and recommend a trip to Taormina which has amazing views. Overall the hotel is well run, friendly staff and offers a relaxing stay. Further away from the pool are some lovely quiet areas with amazing views. The gardens are well kept and being on the hillside makes for an interesting location. A trip down to the beach is about 10-15 minutes however our family were ushered off the front row which was empty to further back along the back which was quite ride and unnecessary. All the other staff were helpful at the hotel.

The hotel is comfortable and clean with a pleasant view or the sea. It has easy access to the beach and availability of local buses to Taormina and surrounding area. I was disappointed to be charged a compulsory €20 for entertainment (absolutely awful piped music) and use of the facilities (beach). Although the two hotels are meant to share facilities, the swimming pool, sauna etc. require additional €20 to join and I can see nothing else worthy of note. Also, make sure you have cash as beach towels,Sade key etc. is only taken in cash

This hotel is a joke. A very bad joke. If you want to waste your hard earned money and ruin your family vacation then this is the place to be, look no further. But if you want to have a nice place to stay and have a good vacation please stay away this rathole. This ”hotel” is something left behind by a long gone era maybe it was good during Mussolini and his era, but ín 2023 it is definitely an absurd very bad joke, a real rathole. The building itself is an old rundown place with very old, broken furniture, not functioning air condition and plumbing system. The air conditioner was at least 20 years old, making loud noise without any cooling effect. A real piece of junk. There was no adequate water pressure so showering was a challenge except you enjoy showering ín cold water only. But the hotel' s main ”attraction” was the restaurant. Now this is the most horrid place I have ever been. The food was terrible, impossible to eat, the portions were ridicoulosly small and the waiters were from a long gone Era As well. They were chatting all the time instead of working so we always had to wait forever to get our disgusting meal, which we couldn't eat anyway. We left the restaurant with an empty stomach on most days. All ín all Hotel San Pietro ín Letojanni should be closed forever ín the benefit of mankind. Please stay away if you want good for yourself and your family!

I’ve got to say we were delightfully surprised by this hotel. We booked this place as it was nearby to where we booked our wedding. Travelling with my now husband and our nearly 2 year old. From the minute of walking through the doors we saw how truly nice and special this place was. We just booked a standard room, we were located on the ground floor and the room was a lot bigger than we expected. It was nice and peaceful even being so close to reception in room 112. It was clean, comfortable, well air conditioned. Was just what we needed. We had breakfast included in our price which was continental but had scrambled eggs, bacon, range of cheeses and meats including ricotta. Cereals, pasties and cakes all of the above was of a great standard. You could eat inside or out. The staff in the dining room are even better, gianluca, Gianfrano the waiters and the manager fabrizio. And a lovely lady with short dark hair was amazing with our son, They really made us feel welcome and special, they couldn’t do enough for us. So professional and friendly. We also spent an evening in the restaurant which the food was fantastic. Again great service here too! The beautiful garden and surroundings of the hotel are so picturesque. Nice big pool area including a kids pool. We also spent some time down by the beach bar which was relaxing and I have to mention how lovely the ladies down at the reception area of the beach/shop. Giulia and Maria, so lovely, friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was brilliant Adriano made us feel right at home, so friendly, welcoming and looked after our son if we needed milk warming up, no matter what time of day. The shuttle service from this hotel is fantastic, you pre book your shuttle up and down from Taormina. It’s free too! We loved Salvatore! He made us smile, he was lovely, helpful and genuine. We miss him already!! I have to say, the staff here are a real main reason we would want to come stay again. We live in Sheffield in England but my new husband is originally from Catania, we normally would stay with family but after this trip I know we will be back. Don’t waste any more money staying anywhere else, this hotel offers everything you want and need. Thank you for having us Hotel Caparena! See you again one day I’m sure! Everything you read about this hotel is true! Charming it is and it has the best location in Taormina Mare! We stayed here for the first time for 5 nights with our 4 year old son who was very well loved by all the staff, especially by Emanuella and Guiseppe from the restaurant and Guilia from the reception desk. All great people! We had a 3rd floor private balcony and the view was stunning! We didn’t mind so much of the old furniture in the building- it was like an old movie! We ate at their restaurant two nights in a row and had a light lunch one day after the beach. Everything was exceptional and a really easy commute to Taormina center (with our car). Would love to come back!
