The experience is very good, the reception is very warm, the environment is very good, the drinks in the freezer, snacks are free, ha, I can’t believe it →_→If next time, I will choose here, but the airport to the hotel is still quite a twist. The taxis didn’t pay the meter. Several drivers asked whether the hotel was in Bergamo or out of Bergamo. As Luca didn’t provide detailed information about the city area, I thought it was close to Bergamo Airport and I thought it was in Bergamo. As a result, the driver sent us to an apartment, and then to the hotel, which was equal to the price of a double. The taxi cost 50 Euros, which is the most uncomfortable point.
I arrived into Bergamo airport at just after 1am, the taxi drivers outside were like sharks in a feeding frenzy on the poor unsuspecting arrivals...I went to the front of the line of cars as is usual practice, the driver asked where I was going and then started shouting out to the other drivers, pointed out another car and told me to go there..as a woman travelling alone I am careful..I told the driver there was already someone in his car...turns out they pack you in ! Three of us, me the first drop, 2 minutes later and we arrive at my hotel, 20 euros ! Minimum charge apparently ! What a con ! Opened my curtains the following morning after no sleep due to air con set at a boiling 22 degrees! The airport is directly opposite the hotel across a major road ! The next day I walked to the airport up the road via an underpass (I wouldn't have done this at night on my own but a man checking in at reception had done) The room was basic and drab, decorated...I use the phrase lightly...bland and hostel like ! No pictures, old, tired and dull furniture...depressing...oh and NO TEA TRAY ! In the small fridge which I was amazed had been inserted into this awful room devoid of any personality or comfort, had one can of coke and two bottles of water...priced at 3.50 euro each ! I did mention on check out my displeasure of the missing tea tray and the lovely receptionist informed me the standard rooms don't have tea trays, I paid £142 for one person for one night without breakfast ! I honestly believe a tea tray is a basic requirement, also at least one bottle of complimentary water, I have self catering places and provide all of this ! I will not be staying in this awful place again.
This is one of those rare hotels where everything is perfect. The location is perfect (4 min drive from the airport and 7 min to train station). Everything is modern, amazing design, latest technologies in the room. Huge space in the bathroom and the room (we even had a tub in the room). You can also buy some drinks from the fridge if u arrived late and thirsty. The mattress is molded to your body (not old style). We interacted with 3 employees, they are all very nice and speak perfect English. Breakfast is good. Remember you in Italy, so no hot items, but at least it's not just pastries. Some cold cuts of ham, turkey, cheese, boiled eggs, bread, yogurt, croissants, muffins, donuts and more cakes, juices, cereal. And the little area for breakfast is so beautiful and cute. View is amazing. And the most important everything is sooo clean (its hard to get from me 5 stars for cleaning, I'm super picky). Tips: if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, you can hear the planes and the church bell. If you arrive late (like we did after 11pm) the shuttle from the hotel is not going to pick u up. You can take official taxi for 15 euros. There is no Uber (we waited 15 minutes) no drivers were found on Sunday morning to go to the train station. Hotel called for us some other taxi and they charge 20 euros for super short drive.
You can definitely sleep in the airport. However, the bathroom is far away and there is no shower room. There is no reception. Inconvenient to check in. No key. You have to keep entering the code when you go in and out.
Stayed in Stile Libero with my wife and kids as we were flying out from Bergamo very early the next morning. We arrived at around 1 o’clock and even though check in isn’t until 3 the hostess allowed us to come in and expedited preparation of our room to get it ready for us. She also recommended a lovely local restaurant for lunch and assisted me in organising a taxi for the airport. We only got a taxi because of the early time of our flight. We did walk over to the shopping centre opposite the airport, kids 10 & 5, in around 15 - 20 minutes, so it’s definitely walking distance to the airport
This was our first hotel of many during our one week stay in northern Italy. Have in mind that we arrived at around 10 pm due to a delayed flight, and needed a place to rest before starting our road trip. Perfect location regarding airport and Bergamo city centre. A bit outside the city core to let the juice of Italian culture slowly get to us. We found ourselves at the reception after getting to park our rental inside the hotel premises. Met by a friendly staff with a smile on his face, as if knowing he was the chosen one to redeem northern Italy’s reputation regarding Europe’s Covid outbreak. Entering our room, a bucket of chilled Prosecco and strawberries awaited us. Pre-ordered, not included. At 11 pm we wanted pasta, as any international, normal person would when in Italy their first day. The chef obliged and gave us room service at that hour. Drunk with Prosecco, strawberries and pasta, we slept through the night dreaming of the journey ahead. The bed linen was clean and the bathroom upheld its hygienic standard as it should. Breakfast awaited, and was mostly packaged baked goods. We even saw a guy just shoving tons of this stuff into a paper bag. The staff said it was ok. Partially continental breakfast. Coffee was great. All in all, a good start of a week long road trip. Room was ok, but fully functional.
We had a wonderful experience at the Winter Gardens Hotel. Every staff member I deal with, from the check-in to the cleaning staff were delightful and extremely helpful. The Restaurant waitress was helpful to explain the menu give some suggestion and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to everyone wants to have a good time and relax.
