Our recent ‘All Inclusive’ holidays are always Jet2 4* Luxe hotels, This holiday was special in that we were celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary. The Estival El Dorado Resort in Cambrills again a 4* Luxe hotel was ‘in our view’ somewhat of an enigma. The hotel had suburb ground, vast grassy areas with numerous trees providing lots of natural dappled shade with plenty of loungers. These grounds were immaculately looked after the grass cut regularly the hedges trimmed some done in various topiary designs. The room, which was a suite (2155), was very spacious with lounge, bedroom and en-suite. The cleaning of the room was a little variable, however, on the day we had an infestation of ants they were there and sorted the problem immediately. The food was very diverse at breakfast, lunch and dinner however, in common with a lot of hotels the food was often not very hot. The restaurant staff were excellent in laying up and clearing tables and their immediate cleaning of every highchair used was exemplary. Things did get a little confusing at times due to the mix of all ‘board types’ in the one hotel. So why the enigma; in our view and we are sure in many others the ‘Luxe’ defines those little extras that make things extra special. Apart from the welcome pack for day one, no tea or coffee sachets were provided on a daily basis – even Travelodge and Premier Inn manage this – we were told that they provide a coffee maker and a kettle and you can purchase the coffee pods from reception. No water or tissues were provided and only basic body wash a shampoo in the en-suite. As the hotel closes during the winter months there is only a minimal indoor bar area, the sports bar seating 60 approx. All other bar areas are outdoors although some have covering. None of the bars have any comfortable upholstered seating only hard chairs. Unfortunately we had three days of poor weather and having the suite we were fine but some people spent some of their time sitting on their bed in their room. We do not know if Jet2 define this as Luxe but, had we not, already stayed in a number of their Luxe Hotels we would have been put off in the future. All in all we had an enjoyable holiday but felt let down on the extra niceties, especially as it was our 57th wedding anniversary. Jane and Tony from Devon

Con fecha 18 de Marzo de 2024 fuimos en familia al restaurante del Hotel y salimos muy muy satisfechos. La carta muy variada y múltiples opciones para escoger. Destacar la Escudella que hacen y ofrecen de 1r plato, casera, abundante y con un sabor espectacular, junto con ello los Mejillones a la plancha, se nota que son frescos y buenos ya que su sabor es increíble. De segundo plato escogimos el balao, huevos rotos y croquetas. Personalmente escogí el bacalao y es delicioso. Los postres caseros y muy ricos. Destacar el couland y la tarta de queso. El personal muy agradable y servicial. Recomiendo muchísimo este restaurante. La calidad-precio es fantástica y estoy seguro que repetiremos.

Just returned from this hotel. I travel to Spain annually to visit family and try to make a holiday out of it. We normally stay between Cambrills and Salou but couldn't get into our usual hotel, after reading the amazing reviews we decided to book here. Pros: lovely room with everything you need from hairdryer to shampoo. We had a pool view room. Beds were big and comfortable with extra blankets provided which was great as my other half loved the aircon. Quiet hotel. Free Safe and coffee making facilities in the room. Free water in reception. The staff go above and beyond and make you feel so welcome. The hotel is in the perfect location for bars and restaurants. Also close to walk to the beach and easy access to buses into Salou. There is a pool bar. There was entertainment when you ate in the outdoor area which was a nice touch and free drink samples as you walked in. Great orange juice at breakfast and lots of food choice. Lovely sauna and fitness centre. Cons: pool view room means you are overlooking a road. The pool area was not great to be honest. We only tried to sit there for 5 mins and that was enough. The hotel feels more like a conference centre so did not have the holiday vibe we are use to. I felt like I was staying in hotel in London but with sun. Very small bar with long queues in the evening. The outdoor seating area is plagued with flys. The food was often luke warm or cold so we ended up living on bread rolls. Dinner did not start until 8pm so we were eating quite late every night. Overall if you are looking for just a base whilst you explore the local area then this is the perfect place for you but if you want a relaxing holiday around a pool with great shows in the evening then I would stay a little further up the coast.

Habitaciones muy antiguas, falta de renovación en general....solo escuchar los comentarios del chico de mantenimiento alegando que esta todo muy amtiguo y que hace falta una buena inversión para mejorarlo todo, te das cuenta que no soy el único que tiene y a tendra problemas de confort y seguridad....... aire acondicionado, puertas del balcon, moqueta sucia, camas, etc... creo que 4 estrellas no lo vale por el estado de las Habitaciones. En 4 días he estado en 2 por tener que cambiarme debido a problemas de seguridad y confort. Esta segunda habitación sigue faltando confort para lo que se paga y la categoria asignada de 4 estrellas qué creo que ya ha perdido. Me quedan 2 dias y espero no tener mas contratiempos, ya que las soluciones por parte del hotel son excusas, ni tan sólo un detalle por parte del hotel de haber pagado algo que no se ha cumplido, como el confort de un 4 estrellas.
