I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely little hotel again. The hosts Thomas and Christina are very friendly and made us very welcome. I am a biker and was impressed how Christina took time to suggest a ride out around the Black Forest that was a little off the beaten track with less traffic. The food in the evening was absolutely excellent and was so well cooked by Thomas - the steak melted in your mouth. This has not been my first visit and will not be my last.

Germany has lived in no less than 100 hotels, this hotel is also booked with the attitude of trying. The proprietress was very warm and polite. I ordered a venison for dinner. The taste was very good. The breakfast variety was also very rich. The cold dishes and hot dishes were no less than the 5-star hotels in large German cities. The surrounding environment of the hotel is very good, the balcony looks out of the black forest, there is an old miner's previous walkway, after breakfast, I went to walk and encountered wild deer and rabbits. The hotel hot springs and sauna facilities are also very new, this time there is no time to experience. This hotel is the only hotel in this trip that exceeds expectations and will come next time.

Full marks. Definitely worth recommending, the small town in the core of the Black Forest is also very beautiful, the environment is very good, the hotel service is in place, and the hotel is very warm. This hotel is recommended by reviews, it is really good. No extra bed, the parking lot is big and free

HORROR HOTEL. The ”s-courtesy” of the staff: didn't assist me at all while I needed help to enter in my door, since I remain closed outside. I was accused to have broken it, at the end was left alone without having the possibility to speak in english with the locksmith (who speaks german only) who I had to pay. Trying to get a refund I was reported to have broken the lock, that obviously I didn’t… Last but not least, while coming back in this ”horror hotel” I found the entire building without a light on, parking included, had to use a torch and almost fell in a hole. If you want to survive and save money, don't come to this place.

Lovely hotel: mid-range price, very nice rooms with great views, clean and spacious. Restaurant on site is very good! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is secure in a gated garage. Location is in town but up hills so driving down to the center is recommended. The hotel included passes to the museum which is a really nice place to eat and the museum was very good! We spent more time there than expected.

We visited the garden restaurant after a walk to the waterfall for coffee and cake. The garden restaurant is situated at the bottom of some steps and was pleasant. The waitress was initially friendly and as it was a very hot day we ordered black forest gateau and iced cappuccinos each, as thought they would be nice and refreshing. When the iced coffees arrived they were quite small in the glass (only about half full) - see photo before we tasted anything- and when my wife had a sip she realised it wasn't cold but was luke warm. I asked the waitress if we could have an icecube to cool it down but was told no, she didn't have any ice cubes (bear in mind this is a hotel!). We think maybe she just didn't want to walk upstairs to get any. Obviously the coffees were pretty undrinkable (they seemed to have been made with a hot coffee shot and room temperature milk). My wife had about 1cm of hers and I had less of mine. When we came to bill the coffees had been included even though there was obviously something wrong with them (as I had pointed out to the waitress when I asked for the ice cube). We questioned about the coffees and explained that they weren't iced coffees but tepid coffees. However the waitress just repeated that if we ordered them we have to pay for them. My wife hates any fuss so I reluctantly paid even though we couldnt drink them. The waitress had three opportunities to put the situation right after they sold something they obviously were unable to provide 1) provide an ice cube to cool down the drinks when we asked 2) noted that we weren't drinking the coffees and offer us a replacement 3) remove them from the bill. 3 wasted opportunities to do the right thing. We had been in Germany for 6 weeks up until then and had really positive experiences, unfortunately this happened on our last day and it isn't the image we want to take away. The black forest gateau was OK but I'm sure there are much better establishments in Triberg. I would love to hear back from the manager of this establishment.
