I stayed here one night for a concert
The room was ok, nothing special for the price. The hotel is in a great neighborhood, and check in was a breeze. The staff was friendly and showed me to my room. However, checkout is stated at 11am. Ten minutes before checkout, the staff was banging at my door rushing me to get out because the next guest was already there.
In all other experiences, when I arrive at a hotel early before check-in, they don’t go rush to kick the guest out of my room before their designated checkout time. I drop my bags off and enjoy whatever place I’m visiting and go to my room later. I don’t see why this was necessary and put a sour end to my stay.

Place is okay. Everything is handled remotely and passcoded. They could do better on the service by adding atleast 1 staff onsite

Excellent
GGuest UserWe stayed here on a 2 day vacation after getting married (not the honeymoon). We were on the 7th floor so we thought it would be rather quiet, or, at least, not too much ambient noise from outside. We were wrong. We heard cars, sirens and utility trucks like they were right outside our window. We heard the elevator ding every time someone called for one. The walls (exterior and interior) must be very thin compared to every other hotel we've been to.
We ordered Chinese from a nearby restaurant and it was very good, but we had way more than we could finish. Opened up the fridge and it was turned off! We turned it on high and it never got very cold. We probably should have called the front desk, but instead we told them on the way out.
The ice machine was broken on our floor and the vending machine would not take credit cards. The rooms are dated. The bathroom lights are very bright and only one switch for all of them. When going to the bathroom in the middle of the night you are blinded. This is ridiculous. There should be a way of illuminating in at least 2 stages or at least don't install concert lighting.
The staff were not friendly nor inviting. The pillows and sheets were nice, but the bet was very uncomfortable.
All in all I would never stay here again and wish I had seen a review like this when I researched area hotels.
GGuest UserThe hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!
SsknoseyThe free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating.
There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm.
There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.
PPMy family and I arrived around 330AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning.
Service: 4/5
The Night staff was awesome, hospitality was IMPECCABLE! From the receptionist , bellhop helper, security, you name it! I wish I could remember their names but the receptionist was a young African American male about early-mid 20s! The morning crew and afternoon crew need some pointers from the night shift staff because they need some work.
Rooms: 3/5
Our room had 2 full size beds, they were nice and spacious for all 4 of us (3 adults & 1 child). No microwave was an inconvenience but it wasn’t too big of a deal since our short was stay.
Overall I would rate our stay a 4/5 (Would have been 3.5/5 had it not been for the service we experienced when checking in.
GGuest UserThe hotel has a great location near many attractions, making it convenient for sightseeing. The environment is clean, peaceful, and well-maintained. The staff is friendly, and the facilities are modern and comfortable. I highly recommend it for couples looking for a relaxing stay.
TTamariI was in this hotel for a conference so my need is quite minimal. Generally speaking the hotel is in a great location that is easily accessible. The room itself is fairly simple , I think for this price though the service should be a little better. My room has couple of occasion that the tea and coffee wasn’t top up after cleaning and soap as well. The bathtub is a bit stained but it is cleaned. Wifi - there were multiple times that it was a bit slow .
If I have to rank based on the price as well I would say above average
CChung hoThis is a historical hotel in Chicago, love it very much. I love their restaurant & bar, good atmosphere and serve with good foods (see my pictures).
I will definitely choose this hotel again by the next time to Chicago
GGuest UserThis is my second time staying at the Central Loop Hotel. The location is great. The Art Museum of Chicago is on the right hand side of the door. The Chicago Central Station is on the left hand side of the door after crossing a bridge. It is convenient for travel.
GGuest UserThere is a bus to the airport. The service is good. I checked in early. Later, the plane arrived at 6:00, and the front desk delayed check-out until 3:00. The service is heart-warming, and it is also a good choice for airport transit
GGuest UserChecking in at the
Congress Plaza was so straight forward. I was upgraded without asking to a King size bed with a lake view. The room was perfect. Fridge, safe, TV , Coffee and water.
The average price for hotels in Chicago is US$351 on weekdays, and US$392 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
