Manor on the Bay

We received the most friendliest service, when we arrived. The owners Jenny and Sebastian was so welcoming and me and my two kids really enjoyed it there. They offered us a delicious breakfast Saturday and Sunday and throughout, they told us about a little book store in the area that we visited three times! It was like heaven for my daughter who love bookstores. We took walks on the beach which is just opposite and took lots of photos. Manor on the bay is definitely a place I would go to again for a weekend stay.

Absolutely lovely place to stay in at Gordons Bay. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The view is stunning and the breakfast great. The Manor is secure and safe, with walking distances to restaurants.

Beautiful accommodation with friendly staff! The rooms are spacious. This Heritage Building was build in 1862! Exceptional breakfast! Walking distance to Restaurants. Definitely the best located accommodation option in the Gordon’s Bay area.

I made a mistake when booking our trip to South Africa and my wife booked this last minute. BUT what a great surprise. This is run by Jenny and her helpful husband, Basjan (lol ok its Sebastian but I like his nickname better). The room we had was a family room which had a double bed and a double bunk with a kitchen and a great bathroom. The room was very clean and the beds very very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed in it including a very well stocked mini bar. The room had a great view of the ocean and speaking of the ocean, its literally across the road so in summer this place would be ideal to spend some time in the water. Our booking included breakfast and all i can say is wow. You will not need for anything as you quite simply had it all to hand. Food was fresh, coffee was fresh, juice was fresh and the small cheeses a reminder of child hood. We went to a local steak house for dinner which was just down the road and as for safety, you get given a remote for the gate and it is very well lit when you return to your room. The best thing about this place, and believe me there is lots good about it and would definitely recommend it, but its the people who run Manor on the Bay. They are both friendly and accommodating and made our stay very welcoming. You check in with a lovely glass of sherry or two or three LOL LOL, never to early in South Africa. Great place to start our awesome South African holiday and we will definately be staying there again as soon as we can.

Stayed in the family suite on February as part of a longer trip in SA, the room was incredible, beautifully decorated and set out for a family with young children (I say this as it’s bunk beds in the room), Everything is well maintained and you can tell very well cared for a small but nice little pool to cool off, and the breakfast is amazing all made to order with a selection on buffet bits while it’s being cooked… the croissants are to die for. good location right across a small road from the beach and easy and safe to walk down to the bay where there is a good selection of a few restaurants and shops there is something for everyone but not loads. We didn’t have a car but I would recommend having one for this area having said that we got around quite easily via Uber when we wanted to get out of the area, we went to the spier winery and Cheetah outreach quickly and cheaply. After receiving some sad news from home and somewhat distracted we made a silly mistake by leaving our passports in the safe and didn’t realise until we were 3 hours away, we called Olivier who promptly removed them and took care of them until we could get to them also delaying their evening out so we could get them collected so really went above and beyond… Thank you

What a wonderfully relaxing stay to end our South African adventure. Olivier and Yamin were welcoming hosts, who were attentive throughout our stay. The hotel is set in a great location in front of the beach and the garden and patio are a perfect place to sit and enjoy the view - especially the sunset. We chose a luxury room with ocean view, which was beautifully styled, spacious and with an extremely comfortable bed and bedding. Thank you Olivier and Yamin.

What a nice surprise ! What a pleasure to admire the sunset from our room, facing the ocean. The establishment is very elegant, the rooms have all the necessary comfort, with excellent beds. We enjoyed our morning jog along the ocean and the superb breakfast served until 10 a.m. We will come back and stay longer!

Beautiful accomodation, perfect location and the most wonderful hosts. Spascious and delicate roms, great polo-area and 50 meters from the beach. The restaurants in Gordons Bay is only a 5 minute walk away. We hope to return as soon as possible. Thank you for 10 wonderful dags!!

Wish we had stayed longer at this beautiful guest house, a prime loaction, a few steps from the beach! We could not have chosen a better place for our stay: the scenery with beautiful gardens, fantastic sunset views, nice spacious and furnished rooms with everything you need incl. fridge, the owners Olivier and Yamin did everthing to make our stay so fantastic, welcoming us like we were family. And such a nice treat to have sherry served right after we arrived, so we could enjoy the sunset from our nice big terrace. Thanks again for making our stay so memorable, we do hope to come back, and we do recommend your guest house and fantastic hospitality to everyone.
