This stay in Curia Hotel, was actually in the ir of 2005 i believe. But still in my memories, I remember the grandiosity of the building, the very high floor and the space mixed with stories and te years give you peace just siting, and enjoy the surrenders. Nice services, nice staff, don’t lose de massages options and the restaurant if remember a good experience

The cleaning ladies are very friendly. Carina, who is at the reception, is very friendly and very helpful, in contrast, I only have to point out the staff who were serving breakfast. I asked if I could have a table next to the window, since the tables that were prepared were all on the opposite side, they said yes, that I could take the dishes and take them to the other table. I did so, and sat down at a large table (I had only noticed these tables next to the window). When I went to get food, the two employees, who were always in the middle of the room, told me to use smaller tables. The room was quite empty, and from the number of tables prepared it was obvious that few customers were waiting, who would not use all the tables, as happened. The attitude of these two employees did not sit well with me. They could have taken the trouble to at least indicate the tables they wanted the customer to sit at (at the time I didn't notice the tables because they were on the side). They waited for the customer to change, and, in a law of least effort, they indicated that they had to change tables again. This difference in attitude from the reception to the restaurant makes all the difference in service. Very clean and heated room with regulation. Very silent.

A very modern hotel with many facilities. A little out of the way from town centre but set in a more rural/residential area. Exactly what we needed after the hustle and bustle of downtown Coimbra. Excellent breakfast and superb dinner. Very reasonable price for the type of hotel it turned out to be.

A gift for the senses. We thought the hotel concept was fabulous and I don't really agree with renovating the facilities too much, only what is essential, since it would lose charm and increase the price. We consider the current quality/price ratio to be very good. Great choice for the joy of the eyes, for rest and for a walk through the forest, which, together with the climate and the moderate tourist attraction at this time of year (December long weekend), make it a very special place. Shared rooms are an enjoyment for the senses, as we said before, and the rooms, despite any damage they may present, do not leave you indifferent either. And the easy and free parking next to the hotel is another incentive. The staff's attention to any questions or concerns, together with their explanations about the hotel and its history, makes you feel welcome and well treated. Returning is essential.

The Staff at Macarico Beach Hotel in Praia De Mira is wonderful and that's why I rated 4 stars. Everyone is very nice and professional, also very helpful. However the hotel needs a few things to change. The room has a glass bathroom with a sheer white curtain. No privacy to use toilet. Showering isn't a big deal but myself and boyfriend felt uncomfortable using the toilet to relief our stomach. We had to leave the room or sit on the balcony while the other was on the toilet. Also there was no shelf in the shower to put soap, shampoo or shower gel. The balcony needs a screen to prevent mosquitoes from entering the room. We wanted an ocean view with a balcony so we can hear the ocean while sleeping. But mosquitoes came in because of no screen door. The hallway needed more lights, was dark in the night. Also the breakfast was not the best. Not many options. A few pastries and the same watery eggs with mushrooms. I was not impressed with the breakfast. Also the laundry service was very expensive. I wanted 2 jeans and 4 sweaters to be washed in cold water. They charged 31 Euros. After that I had to look for a Laundromat and find time to wash clothes on my vacation. We were there for 13 days and I don't like to have dirty clothes in my luggage. One of the reasons why I chose Macarico because they offered laundry service, but I was not aware of how expensive it would be to wash a few pieces of clothing. I paid 10 Euros to wash and dry a load of clothes at the Lavandaria 5 minutes away from the hotel. The pool is small and so is the gym. I didn't have the chance to try their Spa. Overall I would not recommend Macarico Beach Hotel in Praia De Mira nor will I stay there again. Look into an Airbnb or different hotel.

I used this hotel for a week during a conference and was very pleased with it. It had a high level of cleanliness and my room was spacious and well appointed. Best of all was the service. I arrived horribly late, almost 11.00pm, on my first night having not eaten since the morning, and was treated with great kindness by the person on the desk who made the effort of phoning around and arranging for a place in town to stay open for me to eat. She didn't need to, but she did. That set the tone for a good experience all week.

On a busy street that feeds one of the main bridges over the Modego River, the hotel is at first intimidating to locate & park at, and unloading luggage. Once inside, the rooms are standard EU class but it is the staff that made the difference for us. Isabel in particular was extremely friendly and helpful with advice- free parking at several spots, free shuttle van, possibly the nicest laundromat in the world (!), and restaurant options. She and the staff were tremendous, so I would recommend a stay there on tour of Portugal. Cheers.

Me at 72 years, accustomed to traditional hotels couldn´t resist to stay here. Looked crazy enough to dare. And it is different. The rooms aka boxes are what was promised, comfortable bed, and a bathroom large enough. Friendly, helpful and engaged people working there. The breakfast was like the rooms, very small. Half size bread etc didn´t match the €6 pricetag. Overall it was a strange but pleasent experience. Very much because of the personal.

Silvia was our receptionist and go-to person. She was truly AMAZING! She is a delightful young lady who was our contact person, greeted us, carried our luggage ( the stairs were a bit difficult for me), called taxis for us, brought extra blankets, prepared breakfast, recommended restaurants and sites in Ciombra…there was nothing she wasn’t available to do. She was always smiling and friendly. While the property is on a large piece of land and is farm like it is NOT in the countryside. It is in a suburban area 10-15 minutes from Coimbra. We were specifically attracted to being in the countryside so this was a disappointment. Even with Apple CarPlay, our gps system, we missed the street several times. The name of the street is not well marked. The property is behind a lovely gate and parking is readily available. This was a plus. Our room was very large ( bedroom, separate living room, bathroom, entry space)and had lovely views overlooking the grounds, the pool and distant mountains. We booked on *********** “ Family Room with Balcony” 441 sq/ft. and stayed Sept 29-Oct.1. The room was stylish and very clean with big windows overlooking the grounds. However there were many flaws. There were no glasses for water in the room, no water provided, no conditioner in the shower, no robes or slippers, only 2 very flat pillows, one set of towels. We were offered use of the communal kitchen but this was not inviting. We were shown the refrigerator and told there was a different shelf designated for each room. Too much like a college dorm or work fridge. We could use the kitchen as we wished but did not avail ourselves. Silvia did immediately bring us an extra duvet when we found the room too cold. She did offer to turn the radiators on but we were afraid we would find it too hot.There was no thermostat for us to control. There were enough outlets for adapters and charging cables. We did not expect USB ports as is common in Portugal.wi-fi was good. The worst was the shower. It’s a beautiful walk in with a rain shower but on the first morning my husband had cold water. I had scalding hot then tepid then cold. And yes…we do know how to turn on and adjust the water. On the second morning we both had COLD showers. The hair dryer was terrible…barely dried my short hair. The room was not serviced. We came back after a long day exploring Coimbra to find an unmade bed and wet towels. So we made the bed and used wet towels… The breakfast, again Silvia was the star, was in a small dark room with a buffet selection on a narrow sideboard. There were decent choices…cheeses, bread and good coffee and scrambled eggs. One table was so close to the sideboard we couldn’t access those foods without being rude. We did take taxis into Coimbra . We thankfully had a hotel address card to show drivers for our return trip. Even with that, both drivers had a difficult time finding the property. Wonderful place at all levels. We love it and will definitely be back 👌 Only repair is even the water in the pools should be warmer. I strongly advise you to visit and enjoy everything this Lindo Hotel has to offer.
