Excellent hotel in Caldas de Reis offering free thermal pools and complementary spa. The room was clean very silent and located in the housing complex adjacent to the pool & spa. Had a good night sleeping. Breakfast was good served in a big room with more than enough tables for the guests.

Stayed here for one night whilst hiking the Camino. The hotel building itself is very lovely but I understand the other comments about it having a lot of potential. Our room was absolutely huge which was fantastic and we had plenty of radiators to keep us warm and dry our clothing, which after a full day of hiking in the rain was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, because the hotel is on a main road it meant it was very noisy at night, we wanted to keep the windows open to let some fresh air in but it was far too loud. The thermal pool is a really great touch, although only the small pool was thermal, the larger pool was regular. The breakfast at this hotel was great, probably the best on our Camino. There was lots of choice and no queues which was fantastic. Unfortunately the restaurant didn’t open until quite late so we decided to go out rather than wait all night (can highly recommend Mesón Bermana, amazing food 5* experience a short walk away). Watch the stairs as well, they’re very uneven and lots of people were tripping up/down.

We stayed here while walking the Portuguese Camino. It was a hot day (30C) and our rooms did not have air conditioning not even a fan. We kept our window open but then flies flew in. Needless to say, we did not sleep well. And then to add insult to injury, the posted 0800 breakfast did not open their door until 0820. With that being our longest day in the heat, we were very dissatisfied.

The hotel needs a lot of work. The rooms are worn, sparsely furnished and when you book you assume you will be in the historic building however they put you in the detached motel type rooms. They are a long walk from the lobby/dining room.

I stayed here during my camino both this year and last. It is such a beautiful hotel and the rooms are amazing! After a long day of walking it is such a pleasure to check in and treat yourself to the beautiful pool and comfortable bed. The front desk staff is incredible and they do everything possible to make sure you have a 5 star experience! Thank you for another incredible visit! I hope to see you again next year!

This hotel reads like a 1900 resort with a huge old heated pool and beautiful grounds. The reception area is nice and has the old world design maintained. We were walking the El Camino and this hotel is on the trail and so convenient to restaurants. We paid extra for the spa circuit experience which was a little throwback to another era but we were the only ones there and with sore muscles from the trail, we made good use of the different jets in the indoor pool. Beds were not great rooms just ok. Dorm style. But we really liked the place for reasons outside of the room. Small breakfast included, which we liked.

Our group of 4 slept here for 1 night during our recent Camino walk. Good: * Our rooms were very private and quiet, so we could catch up on some quality sleep; * Friendly reception and wait staff - nice touch to pack picnic breakfast for us to go when we departed too early for regular breakfast; * Warm pool provided some welcome muscle relief! Bad: * None at all. OK: Wi-fi signal strength.

I don't like to write a poor review but this was the worst place we stayed in our couple of weeks on the Portuguese Camino. the place needs some decent maintaining. The rooms in the building out the back near the pool are damp/humid and were unbearably hot. The temperature perhaps cannot be helped but it is obvious that the roofs and walls leak as evidenced by the blown out plaster and paintwork despite the rooms seemingly refurbed not that long ago. The dampness combined with the heat meant there were a lot of bugs, flys, mosquitoes and also large centipedes climbing the walls and ceilings. This explained the smears all over the walls - clearly where previous guests had also been killing bugs. We moved rooms once as we were put in the end room next to a plant room with a constant machinery noise and that surrounded by all the laundry storage carts and rubbish stacked. However, the second room although had no noise still had the bug problem. The pool was okay but again the grounds aren't well kept, many tiles in the pool are missing or have mould round them and the loungers are broken or dirty. It also got very crowded as they sell entry tickets to non-residents. I cannot comment on breakfast as we decided not to eat here based on our overall experience. At this price I would definitely find a different option if at all possible.

The hotel is ideally placed in caldas de reis. Beautiful big rooms and a shower that was heaven after a day's walking. However no information given at check in apart from the fact they have a thermal pool out the back and time of breakfast. No mention of WiFi or the fact they have a spa with jacuzzi and stuff in hotel . Also the fact they offer massages and such was not mentioned. I only found this out when I went online to see if hotel opened for dinner I asked at reception about using it the next day before check out and was told it does not open until midday so was no use to me . A couple I met at breakfast were not advised of the services on offer either so it's almost as if its OK to use pool but nothing else A sign in the lift advising where entrance to pool is would save having to wander thru reception in dressing gown trying to find way. A beautiful hotel with fantastic amenities if guests were told about them at check in or perhaps put a booklet in room

This hotel is very suitable for those walking the Caminho pilgrimage. There is a large hot springs pool, which was much needed after the day’s long walk . The lady at the reception desk spoke English well, and the staff was amiable in general. Dinner was 15 euros at the restaurant for a three-course set meal including drinks. The food was good and the portion was very large <3

It smells musty, it falls apart, the pianos in reception are sad, full of bugs, the dishes are outdated and cracked. A breakfast bowl, I thought the edge was wavy and when I looked it was all chipped. The staff was fine, but the hotel was falling apart.

The main complaint is that they gave me apartment 432 and it is next to the complex's gas boiler and it makes noise at night, (hum) so I couldn't sleep and I was doing the work. They could now insulate the wall and it didn't cause any problems. Positive: The bed, shower and the thermal pool outside, the rest of the furniture is a bit old.

Much to be desired. Little care, dirty. It lacks a lot of maintenance. The pool tiles had mold, even the ones inside the water. You could see the marks of dirt on the edges of the pool. The locker rooms are very dirty, clogged drains and everything is full of cobwebs, they haven't been cleaned there for weeks.

Clean and well-kept facilities. The girls are very nice and attentive. After enjoying the indoor pool to myself, I received a recovery treatment on my back (hot clay) and legs (cold effect wrap) which was truly wonderful. Until the body gets used to the hot-cold effect, it's a bit of a bad time, but once it passes... It's glory for the body! It has been a pleasure.

Beautiful thermal bath with an old building, good accommodation and tasty food. We stayed there overnight as part of the hike on the Way of St. James and were particularly pleased with the amenities of the bath. Centrally located and friendly staff.
