Great little hotel. Ok the cons. Two blocks too much into an area that might not feel right with travelers that are not use to big cities like NYC. While the room was clean and well appointed the shower could use a little love. And lastly no coffee in the room. The pros. Great staff. Water bottles and drinks in the room. Room is big and comfortable. The price is right and the location close enough to key areas. Breakfast was good just what you need nothing fancy. I would def stay here again. I would recommend to people as well.

No es un hotel, es practicamente un hostel, la habitacion que nos toco no tenia aire acondicionado, solo un ventilador de techo y una tecla que accionaba algo parecido a un extractor, habitacion muuuuy caliente, el baño no tiene siquiera una mampara para la ducha por lo que luego de bañ**** si o si hay que pasar un secapiso y llevar el agua hacia la rejilla de desague, el baño tenia una perdida de agua constante por lo que el piso estaba mojado todo el tiempo. Televisor de tubo con video cable, el check out es ANTES DE LAS 10 AM, aclarado en un cartel en la recepcion y tambien en la habitacion. Hay que dejar la llave en recepcion al salir del edificio y solicitarla nuevamente al ingresar. Ubicacion buena, a unas cuadras del obelisco pero ubicado al lado de un ”bar del metal”.

First I'd like to say that the young man who assisted me when I arrived late at night at Up Tribeca was entirely professional and courteous with me, even though I checked out almost immediately after checking in. So: I initially booked three nights at Up Tribeca because the reviews for the hotel were all positive; however, the hotel ”ambience” is entirely artificial and - to put bluntly - weird. All the rooms are centered around an open-air courtyard (btw, that courtyard is the only fresh air in the hotel), and because I checked-in late at night, I had a very hard time trying to find my room number while walking the hallway along the courtyard, as it was lit by a few neon lights that (I guess) gave off a cool vibe, but no actual light. Because it was so dark, I mistook the wrong room for mine and kept trying to open the door with my card, until I noticed (again, hard to see with no light!) the ”do not disturb” sign on the door handle (sorry to whomever might have woken up to me trying to open their door.) I then continued down the dark hallway to my correct room, and when I opened the door, I was greeted to a completely windowless box of a room that reeked of synthetic air-freshener, making it smell like I just walked into a Zara Home Furnishing store. The smell was suffocating, and of course there was no way to open a window to get rid of it because no window existed. If you've ever watched the Apple Tv show ”Severance,” then you'll get the kind of atmosphere this room had: it felt completely claustrophobic and dystopic. I didn't spend more than thirty seconds in that room before I grabbed my suitcase and went down to the front desk, requesting a different room that had a window, only to be informed none of the rooms have windows. At that point, I asked him to call me a taxi, and I left for another hotel. To sum up: if you don't care that you're staying in a windowless box that smells like a home furnishing store in the local mall, you'll be fine at Up Tribeca. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend you book elsewhere.

This hotel is old and worn down. It’s worth nothing I booked a small budget twin room, the larger rooms could be nicer? The hotel was noisy, the paint was peeling, the room was very small, but the price was right. I arrived around 11am and was looking for a place to crash for a little bit for a 12 hour layover that would let me explore the city. The front desk checked me in right away with no questions asked which was great. However the front desk was staffed by someone who didn’t speak great English, so certainly not really a bilingual hotel and not sure I could have gotten a lot of help had I needed it. The hotel was cheap at 48 usd so it served what I wanted. I would definitely think of this hotel more as a 2 star motel than a 3 star hotel. Had more hostel like vibes than a hotel. Fine for a long layover like I had but I wouldn’t stay for an extended vacation unless you get a good deal and you’re on a tight budget. Location is great, close to tourist attractions and walking distance. You have to walk a bit to get to the famous pink building in the current TA cover photo so that is a bit misleading. Easy to flag a taxi outside the hotel which was a plus.

We check in very late and very tired, so only can share my experience base on the room . comfortable beds and very clean, beautiful design of shower room and the TV decoration also unique Since we must check out early morning so we can't enjoy the breakfast Check in process is very fast, and she's really known her job, I forgot her name, she's very pretty too She offer us to visit famous destination nearby, but we are too tired already Overall it's very nice hotel , highly recommended

Este hotel está muy bien situado para acceder a distintos paseos en la ciudad de Bs As.. La habitación cómoda, y en este caso triple, contaba con dos baños y linda vista hacia la Av 9 de julio . Buena limpieza y atención amable , con acertadas sugerencias del Sr Jorge en recepción. Puedes incluir el desayuno ( 7 a 10 hs) en salón de primer piso . No posee servicio de restaurante. Relación precio - calidad muy bien .

We just spent a week in Buenos Aires and this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was terrific. The room was a bit small but still quite manageable. Bring slippers, as the tile floor in the room gets quite cold. I'd also recommend you bring a few coat hangars with you, the wire type you get from your dry cleaners that you don't mind leaving behind. There isn't a hairdryer in the room but you can get one from the front desk. You can also get an iron and ironing board from housekeeping if you need them. There is no U.S. type electrical outlet in the room but there is one European type. The included breakfast was adequate--pastries, cold cuts, dry cereal, cheese, coffee, tea, and fresh-squeezed orange juice. If you arrive early, the front desk will store your luggage for you until your room is ready. There are plenty of attractions within walking distance of the hotel, as well as excellent restaurants. Just a block away is a small, family-run place called Viejo Alsina that features excellent food at a very inexpensive price. The famous San Telmo Market is an easy half-,mile walk. For some reason Uber cannot pick you up or drop you off near the hotel. It's about a quarter-mile to the nearest pickup point. However, the car service (Talixo) we booked to and from the airport was allowed to pull up at the lobby door. That was $74 round trip. All in all, this hotel was perfect and the price was a bargain ($321 for the week). That may have been the winter rate, but winter is the best time to visit BA.

This hotel is advertised on many websites as a 4 star hotel with very high satisfaction rate. But don’t be fooled by beautiful entrance. Once you get into the elevator everything disappears and you are welcomed into the rooms that resembles of a hostel. The rooms are terribly small. But that is not what is bad. The rooms are extremely dirty. Grime is everywhere: bathtub, faucet’s, toilets…Just look at the pictures! But here is where it gets worse. On my son’s duvet, there is an old blood stain. I had to put 3 boys in one bed even though we booked a triple room. My pillow case wasn’t changed. It was dirty and there was somebody else’s hair on it. I immediately went to the front desk to ask for a clean pillow case. And even though staff speaks very little English (or in some cases no English at all) this is a conversation we had using google translate: - Hi, there is a dirty pillowcase on my pillow. Can I please get a fresh one? - No, I am sorry, the housekeeping is finished for the day (it was midnight). - That’s fine, I can change it myself but can you please give me a clean pillowcase? - I am sorry I can’t leave the front desk I am by myself. You have to wait until tomorrow morning. - And how am I going to sleep on a dirty pillow? - I am sorry there is nothing I can do until tomorrow morning. He finally told me to wait for a second and he will see what he can do after I asked him if he would sleep on a dirty pillow if it was him. 15 mins later he took me to a linens’ room where there was no pillowcases. I took one clean sheet and said I would wrap the pillow with it. If you can please avoid this place at all costs. You’ll pay premium price $150/night for a hostel experience. Unfortunately we booked 2 rooms for 5 nights and they won’t refund us, even though we wanted to leave immediately after getting into the rooms. Rooms are advertised with balconies, this one has none. Just dirty windows. I can stomach lots of things but sleeping on a dirty bed and in a dirty room- I cannot.

How a hostel should be run. One of the best I've ever stayed in, in 20 years of travelling. Curtains, charger, light and a lock box for every bed. Large lockers in the room. Rooms are super spacious. They have individual safety boxes with a password in the reception area and a camera watching them so you can leave valuables. Fastidiously clean. Cleaned multiple times a day. All sheets, curtains are super clean. Many large, private bathrooms around the hostel with free soap, shampoo, conditioner. Activities almost everyday ranging from empanada and mate making to tango lessons. A wide range of common areas: 2 large, clean well stocked kitchens, a quiet room, a work room, a garden. Free water dispensers. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff 24/7. Safe because you need to buzz in every time. Someone is there 24/7. Right next to Florida Calle for money changing. Closest subway is 2 minutes away. Lots of shops, restaurants super close by. Including a really great, affordable, vegetarian self service place and a really nice restaurant with great meat where you get a discount for being a hostel customer. I stayed there initially and went back after a trip to Patagonia. They let me leave my luggage while I was in Patagonia. Sorry for the long review but having travelled a lot and stayed in many hostels, I was really impressed with how this hostel was run. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. Horrible service. We arrived early around 8am. The guy at the reception totally ignored us. When he approached he didnt even acknowledged our presence. I greeted him with a Hello. Good morning. He simply replied : Give me a minute! Im busy here!...Story cut short . We made 2 reservations for later on that day. We used the same credit card. One of the reservations was cancelled without any warnings 3 hours after we were supposed to check in. We went to check in and the guy told us the card was invalid and the reservation had been cancelled. When we explained both families had reseved using exactly the same card, and one was still reserved , the guy stated it happens all the time. Maybe a tech problem , but we had lost our reservation anyway.Read the reviews! Families with children having their reservations cancelled, dirty rooms.pests and rude receptionists. In the end we were glad we stayed away from this place. We found a way better hotel down the road called Pleno Madero ex Own Madero. Staff members were polite, professional and the hotel was clean and welcoming.What a difference!
